Max Settings probably has some really retarded stuff included, but yeah this looks like ripe pickings for some delicious bitching and whining. :positive:
There is a possibility it has some stupid shit like using Hairworks for grass rendering or something like that. Can't wait for real benchmarks.

I wonder if lumen can even be turned off for an fps boost. I think I remember reading that it's baked in, and that the PC version will get a hardware ray tracing patch at some point.

Lumen is not even used in the game, you can see from the most recent gameplay footage in the underground sections.

I'll wait for a weeks until they sort out the most egregious bugs, it's UE5 after all. Don't feel the need to play this on day 1, would rather see what the hivemind thinks before buying it myself. Codex is one of the last places that still has oldschool Stalker fans, unlike every other community that's flooded with Anomaly fags.
I'd have to upgrade my PC, which I don't really feel like doing. This could take years.
Upgrading your PC to only play a select few games that you carefully picked among the near endless heap of Triple A slop is really kind of a gamble.
Unless you are also using your PC for a number of other tasks, like benchmarking, video editing, emulation, geographical map making, there is just no reason to waste money on building a super high end PC anymore, at least to me.

Though I do admit that STALKER 2 got me curious, but not as curious and hyped as Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.

Maybe it's only in certain areas. They said lumen and nanite were used:

There were some screenshots showing comparisons but they were all outside areas or open buildings, so it might be only applied to sunlight.

To be honest, graphically-intensive games have become so consistently terrible and graphics cards have become so pointlessly expensive I don’t know when I will ever upgrade again. You can get so much more for your money elsewhere, and without being made a fool of.

The crypto market just boomed hard this week, expect gpu prices to multiply again soon.
And since AMD is completely unable to create real competition, Nvidia will suck you dry.
Enjoy.

AMD Graphic cards are already better than Nvidia, it's just that their drivers suck ass.
