The fuck is this? SoC is barely 8 GB and the game still looks fine. What's the excuse for this to be 20 times as big?
It's 2024 now. I imagine the modern 3D needs more space now than it did 17 years ago. Some of that could be down to bad optimalization, too. King Arthur: Knight's Tale needed 120 GB on release, but went down to as low as 39 GB. Still, don't expect anything below 10 GB, because this is just not realistic nowadays.

Textures, for example.

1k dds is around 1-2mb

2k dds is usually around 5-10mb

4k dds could be from 15mb to 90mb

Then add specular and normal maps too

The size creeps up like crazy when you up the resolution, the same scene made with skillful juggling of different resolutions could take 500mb, but if you crank everything to 4k it suddenly takes 4gb instead

Back in the day it was a common practice to use high res textures only where they are really needed, and put lower res out of immediate attention. Nowadays, devs go straight for mapping everything in 4k

Another issue is of redundant textures; you don't need to have 10 different versions of a brick wall. Nowadays, devs simply don't care

Lords of the Fallen is a UE5 title that is around 30 gigs, but that is not an open world game and has a lot of samey repetitive textures that are not very detailed. Now when you consider the size of Stalker 2's open world and the fact that textures are hires, it adds up.

Weren't the Stalker 2 requirements published before game development even began, and before it was revealed that it would use UE5? I suspect they are wildly out of date.

ARK Survival Ascended seems technically similar to Stalker 2 (UE5 engine, huge open world, high-end graphics, lots of animals with advanced AI). But minimum requirement for ARK is a GTX 1080 (RTX 3080 being recommended), so I'm sceptical about Stalker 2 recommending just a 1080 (albeit a Ti). At the same time ARK needs "only" 70GB space, maybe Stalker 2 needs the rest for the cutscenes and all the voiced dialogs (assuming both are equally unoptimized).

Everything in this trailer is ages behind what the modders have been doing for years, looks like a remake of the original games with slightly updated graphics but worse atmosphere, and some niggers threw in to spite Vladimir Putin and get a pat on the back from the modern trannoid audience. But wait, S.T.O.L.K.E.R 2: Hort of Chornobyl has one new feature, do you want to know what it is?

This is motivating me to finally buy a new graphics cards, simply because it'll probably be less bad than Star Wars: Outlaws (current bundle) or whatever slop comes after it.

The game looks nice but man, the AI is not only a stepdown from the originals, it looks like it barely works. Enemies just casually wait for you to drop them. Bummer.

Near the outbreak of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, GSC, based in Kyiv, released a video on their YouTube account which called for financial aid for the Ukrainian Armed Forces,[21] stating that the outbreak of the war and the need to protect GSC employees has led to the game's development being paused indefinitely. This was also followed by a Twitter post which linked to an account to donate to the Ukrainian military and stated "through pain, death, war, fear, and inhuman cruelty, Ukraine will persevere. As it always does".[22][23][24] On March 14, 2022, the game's subtitle was changed to "Heart of Chornobyl", reflecting the native Ukrainian romanisation rather than the Russian form.[25][26] On June 14, 2022, GSC stated in a development diary that the development continues despite some of the team fleeing their homes or joining the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Now this is a game to boycott))

"through pain, death, war, fear, and inhuman cruelty, Ukraine will persevere. As it always does" - what a way to describe the country that exists for just 33 years

Keeping track of the round in the chamber? Visible weapon modifications? Visible malfunctions? Ability to find modifications as loot? Underbarrel shotgun support?

All of this has been done better in numerous mods, Gunslinger (a CoP mod that started being developed in 2015) has much better models, much better animations, much better done optics (you can actually combine different optics together, something I don't think you can do in Stolker 2). "Ability to find modifications as loot" is supposed to be a feature in 2024, while modded Stalker (not STOLKER 2) allows you to literally disassemble each gun to pieces, which each gun piece having separate condition bar? Not to mention, weapon upgrade trees for guns in a mod like Gunslinger are much more extensive, with almost all upgrades visually changing the model and/or the animations of a gun. Here in this trailer for Stolker 2: the Hohol of Kyyyiv, at 1:49 they're showing a measly 7 possible upgrades for a gun, and it looks like most of them are just "+10% to stat" shit that doesn't change anything visually.

It is clear as day what's going on here. The devs are remaking their own game from 2007, but they're too incompenent to even produce content that would be on par with what the modders have achieved in the past 17 years.
But hey, at least they've managed to add a weapon wheel :decline:

Oh wait, I forgot. They also added a typo to the game's title. Hohol creativity at its peak.

If you complain about an item wheel, i.e. being able to have multiple items/functions bound to one key, you're actually retarded. Many mods have them as well.

Why would black people even go east of Berlin? It's not some racist conspiracy. There are no jobs in Eastern Europe and nobody speaks English.

Migrants go where the economy is. Always have always will. My own ancestors were destitute Romanians who walked west to civilization.

Besides covering the screen, I sometimes select the wrong slice of the wheel and then slip into the wrong submenu. Before I manage to back out I may already have died. But this is only a problem in games where you must use wheels, of course.

My guess is that some are guest students. Others maybe are brought there by female sex tourists (such trafficking victims often end up selling drugs in the street, alas). Edit: forgot about illegal immigrants. Maybe some get staying permit/asylum in East European countries? But that also means they can't get asylum in another country (without forging a new identity). You can move freely within the EU if you get employment in another EU country though.

But the reason they end up in Stalker 2 is just so that GSC can adhere to Californian woke ideology, nothing else.

Cordon is nice, but what about Cordon while watching a new animation? Garbage with some new shaders? Yantar with 10x more inventory items? Can Stolker 2 even come close to this pure incline?
