It has nothing to do with whether I mention whether I think I am good at the game or not. People such as Darth Roxor who never played the game, never played the beta and didn't even bother to learn the systems could easily breeze through it on Hard difficulty and resort to auto-pilot.

I don't believe the problem with the game is the difficulty. I believe that in Pillars of Eternity the game is *a lot* more boring if you're somewhat competent at it. The Infinity Engine games are not difficult either, but they're more fun to play.

Sensuki 's arguments with regard to difficulty and related things (such as camping supplies) always follow this weird pattern that at the one hand he says he is this godlike expert player who has reached an untouchable degree of mastery and therefore has no problems whatsoever - which may well be - but then somehow comes to the conclusion that means that the game is objectively too easy for everybody and who disagrees with him is just terrible at playing. Maybe the others are just various degrees of mediocre/normal? If you are this grandmaster player who is better than everybody else why should you hold all the lowly peasants to your personal standard? Why should you be the one who decides how many camping supplies are sufficient if you are by your own admission that superior to everybody else? Why should the game be balanced to your standard even though you know that your standard is completely different from almost everybody elses?

It doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me, yo.
that would be a sound argument if we were talking about some game with almost an infinitely high skill ceiling, but we're talking about PoE where the highest skill you can attain is put Eder in front and cast oil

I wish there were Sword Coast Stratagems for PoE.

They're focussing on other types of mods at the moment:

So we can expect 1.07 to be a big update in the vein of 1.05?

We are hoping to be able to get lots of additional fixes to you guys.

I also have a special modding tool that some folks have been working on that should help make community localizations easier.

I have the answer to this. This review was written in defense of the game, simple as that. That's why all the review basically says is "I'm not hardcore, I liked the game, I had fun, therefore it's good" rather than being a typically Codexian review. People were butthurt by the original scathing review and thus felt obligated to defend Obsidian's & PE's honor.

...
Long ass bullshit that basically says the same as those other 2 sentences with some examples...

Fixed your shitty post for you.

Seriously I summarized everything thats wrong with his review in a few sentences and you still feeld the need to write an essay that is almost as long as the initial review. Go tip your fedora somewhere else.

I see there are also educated people here.

Not going to argue with people over specific points, since you are all entitled to your opinion and I figured this review would not be well recieved. That's all fine.

But I will say that if anyone thinks the $20 dollars or so that I spent on this game is enough of an investment to create cognitive dissonance, that person is a blazing retard. I spend more money on lunch than I spent on this game.

And yet here you are, trying to defend your $20 with a review that took you hours to write.

Because my style of review writing is not in line with the Codex's general feeling on how it should be done.

that's a nice way to put it, it's all just equally important opinions

Your DA:I was far better, it's not about the style

That's a bit of a cop out excuse IMO, considering the style used for your DA:I review - which was completely different to this one.

It's not even the fact that the style is different, it's the effort/thought put into it.

I didn't write the review for DAI. Didn't even play it.
ok, I'm sorry I was a total retard

I'm kind of disappointed you wouldn't want to defend this review though, what gives?

It is extremely tacky to argue the merits of something you have already written. Jesus guys how do you not know this.

Before I spend my precious time on reading (or not) this review I must know if this is THE official RPG™ Codex™ reviews. If it's anything less, why bother?
