Yo Hiver. I am just challenging your assertion and asking you to provide evidence for your assertion.I am not being 'dumb' I am being difficult. Also say what you like about Arch Angel but so far I like Nikaido and I don't see any reason to be going them over anything. Having a go at people seems to be a fine 'dex tradition so by all means do it though. Explaining what you are going them for makes it a lot more meaningful though.

Now that we explained things better through PMs, it is hopefully understandable when i say that i took that question as basically hypocritical fishing for excuse to troll or insult Tim Cain. Which those posts about fucking steam history all were.

FO/FO2 and BG/BG2 were created by young guys full of energy, working seven days a week, poorly feed, unwashed and without a care in the world beside playing more games. POE and W2 were made by oldfarts that develop games for a living, have wives, mortgage to pay, kids and another million distractions that suck most of their energy. Do you want more classics? Take a good look at the guys that are making their first games. They have the necessary passion to achieve greatness.

I agree, I think this is the true core of the issue.
Aging but true masters of their trade can still hit with a surprise flick of the tail now and then, but most of the time they stay dormant.

Core of the issue? "Old farts suck"? So no good games have been made by veterans? Damn, if that is the case the aging game industry might be to blame for the Decline itself! Well, i'd like to see some deeper argument before agreeing with that. It seems a very easy thing to blame problems on. Kinda like saying Obsidian needs more women on their team to make better games.

In my opinion they didn't take the Kickstarter project seriously enough. As veterans they must see KS as whiny fans throwing money at them, screaming "Anything you make, i will put in my mouth and say thanks afterwards!" No wonder such a mediocre game came out. They had TOO MUCH freedom to screw around. Invariably, a creative multi-person project will always fail if there are not some serious stakes involved, it seems to me... A Publisher's role might be the whip that keeps the horse running for its dear life, instead of trotting along.

As for the review, I think that if it was written in a "less flamey" way, people might take it more seriously because I do think there are some valid points to be made.

I won't lie though, "Hŵrpa Dwrp" did make me laugh.

To have been written in a a "less flamey" way you would have to ask someone else to write, because Roxor is an edgy butthurt attention whore with a vengeance.

Skyrim modded isnt a bad game, its hated mostly because bethesda.

The deal with hiver is that while he is insightful he often argues to win, not to clarify a point, so its largely pointless to talk to him. unless you happen to be a woman and he happens to like you, thats the reason for the white knight tag. A lot of people just rather ignore him with the forum function, or just not talk to him, because he literally turn threads into shit flinging contests, and thats mostly the reason for the dumbfuck tag, tho i cant recall what earned him that particular badge.

So just randomly thinking about Josh Sawyer (again). The guy is a fruit cake. What kind of fantasy world has he envisioned where magic just sort of vaguely effects people in almost imperceptible ways? Really, the guy hates fun. Its hilarious how true that statement is. Magic is supposed to be powerful, rare, special and should be fairly obvious when it is being implemented. I think Josh is missing something human in his ability to understand why people like certain elements of gaming.

Here is magic student watching and questioning a Great Wizard as the Wizard prepares spells in the world Josh has created for us:

Mage Tower in Au` Da do Mau'ua:

Student: "What great spell are you preparing today Grand Master!!? Will it turn your foes Mad and cause them to all run away screaming in Terror?! Or will it create a huge wall of darkness that nobody can see through!? Or perhaps will it turn them in a permanent sculpture,...or, or maybe grant them the ability to overcome any wounds and become as strong as a huge Storm Giant?!!! Or Maybe it will cause a rotting cloud of Ash to.....
