Comedy gold:

OLED VR or death

I was just stabbed in the leg with a knife and robbed by two guys, but a nice taxi driver drove my dying ass to the hospital for free - such a kind man by RidingDivingMongerer in Colombia

I know it seems ridiculous but this is the way I am and I’ve come to accept it. It’s not my first brush with death and probably not my last.

Many thanks for your concern though. I mean it.

    what? x 1

Funnily some fatally delusional whacko's inhabiting VR threads "think" LCD can't keep up with OLED (when it's the other way) and apparently that's a stance supported by "legendary VR tech" Palmer Luckey not being able to fix LCD-s.

Apparently Palmer is not fixing LCD-s for the avg consumer because he's busy dIsRuPtING the US military industral complex:
During his Oculus years, he had read up on projects like the troubled F-35 fighter, which had a problematic head-up display, and realized that applying lessons from the consumer world could improve its design and lower costs.

The West has never looked so R.E.A.L.!

Hey guys, so many of you asked for it, and after a LOT of work it's finally here!

The gorgeous Red Dead Redemption 2 can now be played in R.E.A.L. VR from beginning to end, for about 50 to 160 hours of gameplay inside the most wonderful world that Rockstar has ever created!!

I can guarantee that you will spend a lot of time just looking at the scenery and going "WOW" like in this video :-D

Some of you might remember me from my GTA V mod. I wish to express my deepest gratitude for the enthusiasm and the love with which that mod was received. It's now past the 100,000 downloads mark, and it's still going strong!

Unfortunately, creating these mods takes a huge amount of time and effort, so I'm not ashamed to admit that I need your support.

My new RDR2 VR conversion is out in early access on my Patreon page: https://patreon.com/realvr

It should work on every major VR headset currently available, and has several quality/resolution settings to accommodate graphics cards from the RTX 3090 down to more earthly systems. As usual, be advised that my mods are meant for people who already have some confidence with VR and have built their "VR legs", as they can be pretty strong and intense experiences.

Mike from Virtual Reality Oasis has a new AWESOME video with gameplay and an installation tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2MXcoZZP37I

Have fun in the VR West!!!

Palmer's ethics seem very questionable.

Doesn't matter, errand boiz will be always there for Palmer and vica versa, to bend over and echo sentiments "inky, absolute blacks". It's always the same song, lol.

NFL playing catch up with VR lol:
Napoleon Jinnies and Quinton Peron are making history tonight as the first male cheerleaders in the history of the National Football League (NFL) to perform at the big game.2019. febr. 3.

Imagine trying to diminish the contributions of the poster boy of "Modern VR" that resurrected it into mainstream consciousness and at not even the age of 30 founded not one, but two billion $ companies in different fields:
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...acked-by-peter-thiel-is-valued-at-1-9-billion
https://www.latimes.com/business/te...ening-huge-new-headquarters-in-press-building

because of an unnatural hatred for OLED screens, presumably because a runaway OLED TV must have raped his mother and fell on and killed his father or something, otherwise I can't really explain his constant irrational reaction every time anyone mentions how it's the superior display technology with better contrast and blacks and LCD is mainly used for cost reasons and other considerations.

So apparently it has the worst sweetspot of all headsets and the FOV is tiny, unlike they advertised.

Quest 2 is worlds better than the original. No cameras needed and the picture is crystal clear unlike the original. Incredibly annoying that you need to buy the extra headset piece that the other one came with so it fits better though. Needed to comfortably play high movement games like Thrill of the Fight.

VR vastly improves the gameplay of popamole shit imo. It's like playing an olskoo shooter with the plastic guns at the arcade.

Like first person shooters and stuff?

Yup. Fallout 4 needs one or two additional mods to make the shooting really good in VR, but it does the job. The shooting in other games already designed for it is spot on.

There are some cheap and pretty entertaining VR dungeon crawlers as well. Just need to turn into into a decent VR-primary rpg.
