Leave Drakortha to do his thing. Again, he has brainworms for having no respect for RE4, but someone needs to respect this series' legacy, as 1-3 originals remain among the most nuanced and monocled games in the series, if not representative of its peak.

Gaming history must be respected. Retards calling them shitty console action games should get the rope. Fucking tool, you enter the series late in its declined lifespan, when the games have actually become shitty console AND shitty PC games, and open your dumb whore mouth.

As for sales, this game selling more than TLOU2 is incline, but at the same time a loss...as it is yet another fucking remake. It's just showing the industry to make yet more goddamn remakes. Decline-enable some more. Imagine paying 80 bucks or whatever shit is shovelled at these days for a remake of a game that doesn't benefit much from a remake. Yeah I'm interested too but I ain't paying anything greater than 10 bucks for a glorified mod. There's hundreds of thousands of games out there at this point in time collectively, and you choose to throw money at this.
The gaming industry is going the way of movies/Hollywood, sad to say.

With the budgets the way they are, companies are becoming incredibly risk-averse now.

Kicking, shooting, stabbing and parrying ganados is fucking satisfying and has crunchiness and weight to it.
Sadly the remake melee feels pretty weak and pathetic compared to the original.

Really? I thought the melee combat in this game felt just as good as the rest of the combat. Slicing necks, blocking chainsaw attacks and stabbing boss monsters in the eyeball is all very satisfying.
Due to the inconsistent hit stun and vastly nerfed state of actual melee damage most of it outside of gimmick fights like Krauser and stealth kills/ladder abuse the rest are pretty weak and don't feel good to use. Using the knife on boss weak points is almost always the wrong move.

The Krauser fight was hilarious. They literally made a boss fight where you just move back and forth between two ladders and won't get hit because Krauser's too busy chasing you to attack.

Peak game design.

Hmm, yes, but parrying and coup de grac'ing downed enemies is very, very useful, essential even. Especially the latter, as it saves you a lot of ammo and prevents enemies from getting up before they grow tentacles and become a proper pain in the ass.
I agree that just running up and knifing them is a very slow and inefficient method, but that always felt like something you should only do if you're low on ammo anyway.

This was even less true in my hardcore and professional runs. The context melee kills outside of stealth kills became even more useless given that you have around what feels like 1-2 seconds to kill the enemies that turn into the twitchy plagas. Which was almost never worth being close enough to knife finish them, first because enemies at that level are insanely faster with far more frequent dodging and higher damage thresh hold for hit stuns, leading to frequent situations where you might kill a downed enemy that turns into a twitchty or tentacle plagas but the other enemies will hit directly after the iframes end on the animation taking a 3rd of your health. Secondly the twitchy and/or tentacle plagas aren't actually that big of bullet sponges that trading 1 or 2 rounds of ammo was always better than risking a need to heal.

I don't quite agree. There are certainly many situations where it's not worth it to go for the melee kills, but even on hardcore/pro (the only difficulty levels I've played), you can time your knife KO's to very good effect. Especially if you use grenades, flashbangs and shotguns to effectively clear the crowds around you.
However, I've definitely shot way more twitchy plagas than I've knifed, so I take your point.

Wait they don't drop ammo anymore? That makes sense for those villagers with pitchfork.

The mercenaries dlc is out in some places right now, it might be available on Steam during midnight. Ada and Wesker aren't included (Only Leon, Luis, Krauser and Hunk). They probably saving those characters to squeeze our pockets when the Separate ways dlc releases. Also, only three stages are available:

Everyone in Mercenaries mode has some kind of meter state now called: Mayhem Mode. In Mayhem Mode Leon’s attacks do more damage, shots send enemies flying back, and your speed goes up. HUNK gets unlimited ammo while in Mayhem Mode; kind of looks like his gun does more damage in that state too, but I guess that could just be the side effect of pumping way more bullets into the enemies. Luis can put dynamite down. And Krauser has his arm blade state like in the original game.

Lol DLC. Remaking a game and giving you back parts of that original game as DLC is literally peak decline. Well, that and making the game significantly worse more importantly, which they haven't actually done despite that being the case for 99% of remakes, but still.

Oh, I see. What's up with that anyway? Shouldn't it just be something patched into the base game, as it belongs there? Now people have to specifically go out of their way to find it.
There is a business strategy involved here for sure, but I am not certain what. Thinking about it, it's probably because more individual entries in steam/PS store/whatever = more chance for the customer to click capcom's shit over any other companies' shit.

Anyway, glad to hear that it is at least free, Mr. Consumer.

LOL. Are we sure? Next I'll be told it's actually been in the game all along just people never checked the options menu.

Did they change the protagonist's hair color for this game? I don't remember Leon being blond in RE2 (remake).

"based" capcom taking down nude mods now
I was wondering when face scanning a model and making mods of it would become a issue. is this a grey area? i know people got it trouble for making maps based on real locations.

EDIT: i ask because i assumed companies and the actual model would have a issue with people making lewd mods based on thier bodies even if it is pixels.
