The things I'd do for a complete release of Resident Evil 1.5. And it had some pretty good music too which was never used.
Is 7 that good? I have not played it yet. This RE 2 remake seem the dumb brother of The Evil Within.
The best Resident Evils are the 1 (remake), 2 (original), 3 and 7.
Former, think about it. Why would he ask where he was bitten when it's clear he was bit on the arm?Settle this 18 year old feud:
In the opening FMV for the original RE2, did the trucker say "WHY'D HE BITE ME" or "WHERE'D HE BITE ME" ?
Fifty bucks and a can of creamed corn rides on this.
Or one could just play the PS1 version of RE2 on an emulator. That works pretty well, you know.
Fuck off.what are they like? is 4 worth playing too? what about 6? i heard 6 is the crappiest of them all. i will probably skip 5 too. 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 0 - 7?
RE4 might be the best of the entire series

True. The benefits which the PC version provides are mainly:
- You can skip the door opening load screens, i.e. instant loading. This is not possible in any of the console versions.
- Backgrounds are uncompressed.
- High-rez char-models (this is more to "set to taste", because they will look out of place on the rendered backgrounds)
- Higher bit-rate cutscenes.
If none of this matters to you, and to be honest this stuff is mostly fluff, then yeah I agree that playing the PS1 version in an emulator with increased resolution is definitely the easiest solution.
For whatever reason though there are people who seem to intentionally avoid using emulators if there's a PC version available, even if/when the PC version is inferior to playing an emulated version. It's weird, I know, but I've run into people like this!
Last time was with a few people asking me about the Windows port of the Wizardry Age of Llylgamyn game... it's like, dude, just play the PS1 version on an emulator.

Is 7 that good? I have not played it yet.
0 and CV are fucking great, though. CV is my favorite, all those memories playing it on Dreamcast.
You mind posting a link to this awesome fan patch you keep talking about?
So inventory management, puzzles, zumbi and weird plot? Nice.in a game that feels exactly as the good old RE games
I have not played CV yet (only few minutes just to test the emulation), but I think I will do. Many people consider it a good game.

You'll need to find the Japanese Sourcenext release of Resident Evil 2 to apply this .dll to.
This is a pretty good way of playing the game (especially because of the ability to skip door loadings and no load times at all ever, some screen transitions in RE2 are annoying), but for me having high-res low poly models against blown up 320x200 bitmap backgrounds is too jarring, so I prefer to play these older RE games through emulator, specifically the Beetle-PSX HW core for Retroarch, where you can achieve very faithful results with the Vulkan renderer by using MSAA and downscaling back to native res, and using a good CRT shader.
Funny how limitations lead to memorable flavor features. I can understand not wanting to deal with that upon replay, but if a person doesn't feel that the door opening thing added to the atmosphere of the original, I just figure they lack the sensitivity to appreciate such touches and are closely acquainted with the Roland Emmerich filmographyOG RE games without door opening loading screens is bullshit.
It was honestly brilliant how they took a limitation and turned it into something that adds to the tension of the game, specially on your first playthrough.OG RE games without door opening loading screens is bullshit.
First half of RE7 is amazing. Great villain, mansion with puzzles and backtracking, great atmosphere and old-school gameplay (but it first person). Is 7 that good? I have not played it yet. This RE 2 remake seem the dumb brother of The Evil Within.

tbh CV and Zero are worst classic RE games.0 and CV are fucking great, though. CV is my favorite, all those memories playing it on Dreamcast.
Why?After you leave the mansion and go to a shipwreck level, game turns to shit.
RE7 mansion was designed in the same way as Mansion in RE1 or Police station in RE2 - puzzles, backtracking, save rooms, etc. Then the game abandons that formula in favor of lame linear experience with samey looking corridors and repetitive encounters. Why?After you leave the mansion and go to a shipwreck level, game turns to shit.
Okay. Playing with a mouse and keyboard on a coffee table seriously sucks, though. Just tried it again. It's too low. A typical home theater just isn't optimal for a PC gaming setup. Which means I'm sort of shit out of luck with RE2. Both options (PS4 and PC) will have limitations. I'm torn. Seven months ago, I would have just gotten the PC version without a second thought.Because I like using my PC at a table/desk, like a normal person. My coffee table is too low for ideal mouse and keyboard use. Windows and a lot of the programs also scale poorly to 4K. Also, I can't fap to porn in the living room. Why isn't your PC hooked up to the TV? I will never understand why people think a PC can't hook up to a consumer television. Boggles my mind why people think it doesn't work. All you have to do is plug the HDMI cable and boom, you no longer will ever have to hook up a console to the television; it has a PC now.
That's all you had to say bro. No need to include the other reasons which were really just a front.
