Game has been hotfixed to fix a missing dungeon floor (literally, the floor of a dungeon was missing).

Nobody has posted this yet? Pathetic.

tl;dsG: the Gold edition of RoD HD will be much, much better than the release version and is likely to be a critical and commercial success. Time for a Codex re-review?

I think Bubbles has a very dry sense of humor that seems to go over most people's heads.

Mrowak is correct.

I purchased ROA: Blade of Sadness @ Steam despite many negative reviews. Of course I was not expecting AAA title polish, but as it stood it was an amateurish attempt. Combat window was not too bad an experience at last update so I at least gave that a try and all told wandered around in-game for around 6 hours {that was what I allotted myself to spend on the game}. There "are" some positive features to the overall game design. It seems the project may have been too ambitious for what looks to be two main people doing the majority of developing? At least, the credits mention two w/ several support staff.

In the end, the fact that this game had it's namesake there for a basis of design leads one to wonder how things went so far South ?
Not saying game design is easy, but in any arena of design, having a "go by" or previous model / idea / skeleton / rule system to work from or modify, makes a new design much easier as far as defining scope of the project/timetable/resource allocation/budgetting etc. etc.

It appears their idea was sound - take original releases of ROA 1-3 and update them to 21st century with some cool new features and ideas to make the originals "better" but the "same". I know I would enjoy something like that - even if 21st century update meant something like isometric game oldie "Temple of Elemental Evil" - I'm just comparing ease of actually playing the game in this case.

At the rate they are going and with current staff or smaller - it looks like in maybe 6-12 months they might could salvage Episode I . There is already talk of 2 on the horizon - if they are seriously pushing ahead for episode 2 with episode 1 in it's current state....I hope they have a benevolent Oligarch backing them - cuz I won't be -

This is the first game I ever asked Steam for a refund for (to which they replied they'd make a one-time exception, but sheesh, if a refund was ever justified...)

I do admire the developer for their persistence. The whole thing is so sad. Gosh I wanted this game to be awesome. Some games come out horribly broken and end up great. I don't know if that will ever be the case here... Hope so!

I've been missing these giant, oft times baffling, changelogs. Really do hope they can somehow keep this up well into 2014.

how could you not like this? judging by the amount of changes and new content, you easily get two or maybe even three games in one.

Haha, months of patching... to get to the point where the game won't start. Realms of Arkania HD has truly been Kafka-esque.
