Nah, it's Alicesoft's new sub-brand IMYUIC (Jap pronounciation: 'I-Myu-I-Kku') which is indie-focused at indie-pricing ¥2420, compared to their most recent JRPG title at ¥8800.

Also, Alicesoft is the sole remaining eroge JRPG studio I'm following; patiently waiting for Doona Doona & Rance 04.

Dropped Eushully from my list of esteemed developers after their latest game, Tenmei no Conquista (& their other recent titles).
It's so soulless (can't think of a better word) for its gameplay aspect; felt like they are just marking off a checklist of required features to be classified as an eroge SRPG while sticking to a new release every 1.5 years.


FWIW: Didn't know Rance X official Chinese version is released in June, stumbled upon while reading their blog.

It's still at number 1 on DLsite's weekly and monthly rankings; currently 11th on cumulative sales.

It was 4 months between sengoku being out of beta and getting released. Can't remember how long between release date announcement and release (and cursory googling isn't helping).

Admittedly, I have no idea what they are doing. Are they planning on dropping quest at the same time as 01 and 02?

Could also be they intend to release 01+02, and then wait a year for quest...

Anyone tried the clinical trial of Evenicle 2? Maybe they are delaying the release of Rance so that it doesn't coincide with this release. Even though I never finished the first one I'm gonna give it a shot and report back.

Rance 5+6 was scheduled to go on Steam (there's a hidden entry for it in the steam database), but did not get approved by the steam censors. Most likely no rance game will ever be accepted on Steam due to the player character being a rapist.

I really wouldn't mind it that much if alicesoft broke their deal with mg, as long as we get the games faster... 3+ weeks since they said 3 rance games were ready for release yet no release date in sight.

Apparently the old deals still stand (which means Rance X is still stuck in limbo) but hopefully (depending on well Evenicle 2 does I guess) Rance 3 will have a relatively fast turn around. Hope they do translations of their back catalogue. Daitekoku please.

It's really not that bad other than for a handful of sequences (it does get pretty dark) but it's pretty wholesome for the most part. It's probably worth a try if you're interested. I know a bunch of people really liked it.

I would be very surprised if they signed a deal with mangagamer for every rance game except 03 (admittedly it is the only one mangagamer hasn't announced they are working on, but they do have several "secret projects"). What I could see is alicesoft making their own release of rance 04, since that game does not yet exist, but is presumably planned to happen at some point.

Hard to say thought. Mangagamer hasn't found another translator for Rance X yet, so maybe they're willing to cut their losses and give those rights back to alicesoft.

I'd say it's overall tamer than Rance, they kinda wanted to have the same kind of gruesomeness the ranceverse has, but half-assed it.
There are a couple of pretty hardcore scenes in Evenicle, but the general tone is light so you have a side character being gangbanged by Pig Banbaras only to be completely fine in the next scene. You can just skip the those scenes since they don't really have much overall impact on the story, whereas in Rance you have stuff like Papaya's assistant in VI and the bad ends in X.

Evenicle isn't that lighthearted when you consider the premise behind the setting (namely, Eve). Aster isn't the one getting cursed so it's easy to forget that.

Well, there is some dark shit, like with chef, but overall it's not even close to their other games.
