Decline PS4 wins the console war against XboxONE, yet it is a hollow victory as Consolesdämmerung is upon us

Aren't we limited in ram with 32 bit Windows bottlenecks anyway, something like 3.2 gigs?
Yes, on Windows 32 bit, that is the limit. I guess they worked around that on the PS4, or more likely, it is a 64 bit system.

The thing is In think virtually no pc game goes beyond the 32 bit ram limit due to the legacy support need, and it won't change for a very very long time.

So it looks like consoles will now have an advantage on PC games on that front, which are ram constrained.

We'll see.
Allready Win7 64bit takes a pretty large part of the cake for pc gamers, at least according to Steam user survey.
By early next year the fraction of 64bit users will likely be even bigger, so with consoles using 64bit as well, I think the chances for multi-platform releases being 64bit on pc as well aren't that small after all.

That's the limit on physical RAM Windows can address (well it depends on a few things, I've seen it as high as 3.6), but it's not the limit how much RAM a program is allocated. That limit is 2 gigs.

I doubt any of these consoles will be able to even come close to 6 years old Crysis.
Yeah, I also doubt they will have editors allowing you to create and screenshot scenes that rendered at 0.2FPS.

Rex Exitium (or whatever the fuck you people call him) spotted commenting on the "no female Sony presenters" issue:

That hashtag leads to a Twitter feed of women complaining about every real or imagined instance of misogyny in computer and video games.

The west has been a fucking pox on console gaming. Shooter, shooter, shooter, interactive movie, shooter, interactive movie shooter. Not that the Japs much have their act together either, but at least they were open to trying new ideas, believe games should be challenging, and understand that a console is fundamentally an extension of the arcade and not a watered down extension of PC gaming.

Lol epic video ;P

Weren't you supposed to leave after the onlive scandal? You have no shame.

Sony bought Gaikai and is using it for PS4. Itz coming, like it or not. Don't be surprised if MS buys Onlive.
Onlive is a joke, their tech doesn't even work. They couldn't ever figure out GPU virtualization, that means they had to have a video card for every customer connected. MS would be better building their own system from scratch.

Crysis 3 still uses a 32 bit executable.
Both Crysis 2 and 3 are console ports (largely corridor shooters in a restricted world and highly dependent on setpieces), and on top of that they were disappointments compared to the first game.

Btw. 4K Screenshots of that Killzone game demo thing (which would mean its either a target render, or was rendered on some form of high-end PC for now): http://www.flickr.com/photos/playstationblog/

I just watched the PS4 conference and it was two boring hours just to essentially say "Wait for E3".

-So much PR speak that it felt like a parody of PR speak
-Stale games all across (I still don't get the big deal about Watch Dogs)
-Many promises, little to no chance that they can prove themselves
-Square Enix trolling
-Little gameplay shown

Nothing about this conference felt like Sony learned or that this generation has matured. Why do people in this day and age still fall for those trailers and tech demos?
