It's a shame to see so many good/decent rpgs beat out by the 3rd person action adventures of Polish Steven Seagal.
Fuck, the only games I played on that list are Pillars (played 2 hours so I have no idea what it is like), Fallout 4 (fun game but terrible RPG and terrible Fallout game, so no vote) and Witcher 3 (my GOTY), so only one vote goes in.
Now, Underrail - it seems Fallouty, is it like Fallout (focus on dialogues, CnC, roleplay) or is it combat focused ? I do not much care about combat in games.
"I'm voting x game for GOTY because it's the only game I've played this year." You people are a special kind of retard.
You should see the SCL thread.I like to believe he voted non-ironicallyI have enjoyed Bubbles' vote

Underrail is similar to Fallout so far as it is turn-based and has similar character progression. I'm not finished (despite having played 70+ hours) but the dialogues are far from memorable and there isn't much CnC. The combat is much better than in Fallout though. If you want CnC and well-made dialogues then AoD is much better. Underrail and AoD are different enough that this poll is more about what the average codexer prefers in an RPG than which is the better game.
Also, Underrail playthroughs will easily take 70+ hours but with a far amount of redundancy. AoD playthroughs will be closer to 10-15 hours each and some to almost no redundancy. The amount of time you want to spend playing and the degree of redundancy you are okay with should be considered.
Yep I plan to get to it, followed its development for a decade since that legendary interview with Vince on RPS.I do not much care about combat in games.
I think you want AoD.

In which case it surprises me that Underrail is leading the poll, I thought codex would value CnC and writing lot more than combat.
Bethesda's productions have been praised by all electronic video gaming experts and historians, you think you know better than your betters?
The nerve of some people...
