Had an idea today:
The Quest Journal:
Your Guide to Computer Role-Playing Games
Pros and Cons include countless "Updated My Journal" jokes.

On related news, Reggie Carolipio is finishing writing and editing his series on the dead companies of the past, and I'm playing around with the layout:

Also, I still haven't replied Captain Rufus e-mail. :3

So far we have articles on Interplay (+Black Isle), New World Computing, Origin, Sir-tech, SSI, Looking Glass, FTL and Troika, and I still want Westwood Studios and Ion Storm. Any other dead company of the past that deserves some love?

BTW, there's A LOT of misinformation in the RPG world that I'm trying to fix here. From dumb stuff like the actual popularity of Wizardry in Japan to properly crediting D. W. Bradley instead of "BRENDA DID EVERYTHING!", it's impressive how people don't do any research before going out and talking shit...

I'm pretty swamped atm, but I think I can deliver a rough version of Summoner review by the end of the next week.
Just informing.

What, no love for the Germans like Thalion or Attic?

Was just going to suggest this. At least a few words to both should be dropped considering that the Realms of Arkania and the Amber-'Trilogy' (if you consider Albion to be the final installment) are considered classics among the cRPG community.

If they aren't big enough names to warrant a section to themselves, maybe you could have a "classic European cRPG developers" section which would include Thalion, Attic, Silmarils (makers of Ishar), and others.

Speaking of Thalion - CRPGAddict is blogging about Dragonflight right now. Looks kind of interesting.

I'll take a look at those, but not all companies that made awesome games need a separate entry, some of them can be addressed on the game reviews itself... I honestly only let FTL there because it was already ready and I liked the text. :3

Well I've gone through both branches of the campaign and made a few extra heros in Warlords Battlecry to refresh my memory. Should I get writing? If so anything in particular you want me to touch on?

Yes, please write! Do a first, rough pass on what you think should be in, and we'll go from there. ;)

I would suggest to add those cRPG gems: Mars Saga, Sentinel Worlds I, Times of Lore, Tangled Tales, Bad Blood, Gemstone Healer/Warrior, Rings of Zilfin, Demon's Winter, Dragonflight

So felipepepe when are you planning to add D:OS to your list? 'Cause you do realize, it MUST be in the book, right?

I'd love to review it, but I'm already behind with IWD2, which I've only just begun replaying, and I'm pretty sure you won't give it to me :( will you... will you?

Bro, D:OS will definitely be in (as well as W2 and possibly PoE), I even saved a quote from Swen to use on its page:

During a demo, I think at the German magazine Gamestar, I was told that we’d probably have to re-educate players because they’re not used to this type of gameplay anymore, conditioned as they seem to be by all the streamlining games go through nowadays.

You may see that as part of the subtle hints of incline brainwashing in seeping into the book. :3

And I'll wait a bit to see with who and how I will approach the D:OS review, I really don't like reviews on release, as I think they are clouded by hype and excitement. ;)
