Possibly, but as part of instilling a healthy European loathing for ourselves, our country, our ancestors and our very culture, we shy away from acknowledging that Gaelic mythology ever existed in school, the arts, etc. I found out everything I know about it from the internet.

Slav mythology is worse. It always is.

Feargus: Our goal is to use voice over as flavor and not as something that exists for every written word in the game. We don’t want to cut down on the depth of dialogs or the number of choices that players have because we are counting voice over dollars. That means, like practically every Obsidian project to date, we are going to push the boundaries of reactivity in our dialogs. And, the more we get funded the more we can do that.

Those aren't really for 24h though, since it doesn't track the hours and only goes by dates.
Double Fine's kickstart must have gone up shortly before midnight.

Interesting stuff tho'. The spikes on the Wasteland graph indicate a lot more money coming in around the last bank-day of the month (pay-day), which I think is interesting since it doesn't really matter at all. I mean, they don't take your money before the kickstart ends anyway. Are people not aware of this?
Will Obsidian also see a spike in pledges in two weeks time?

I wish these projects would all start and end at the beginning of the month tho', it's easier for me to manage if they take my money then...

For me, a good romance is one of the central pillars of what makes a good RPG. If they took romance out I'd probably downgrade my pledge. Without amazing and loveable characters I just don't think it would pack the same emotional punch.

Regarding the game characters' wardrobe (obviously the most important thing in an cRPG), I guess most people are forgetting that this will 2D with 3D characters with an isometric perspective.
You won't be able to see shit captain. It doesn't matter at all.

I'm more worried in having something that makes sense (in terms of race, faction and character), than something to please any factions, minorities or masses.
For example, one thing that always pissed me off with RPGs is: why isn't there any gender differentiation?
female in respect to male: -2 str, +1 dex, +1 char, +1 bluff, +1 persuasion, -2 intimidate
This would be something realistic and makes character and party creation more interesting.

About the clothing aspect (not that I really care), well if you're a fighter you want to cover the most you can, while if you're an archer maybe you'll only cover your torso, head and half legs. But if you're a sorceress you may want to go around half naked (again, what makes sense in terms of race, faction and character) since you'll be manipulating/fighting with your wits not your might.


Not necessarily, but that together with a bunch of Twitter messages I've read over the years that I can't be bothered to look up and then they go on about gay romances, underwear and transgender and whatnot in the same thread.
He generally seems to be whiteknighting and PCing all the time and seems like he could be open to a lot of their "suggestions".

I think people have been a bit fooled by the "scholar-magician". Basically someone dabbling in magical arts in a castle or the confines of his home would just have comfortable or fashionable clothes. But someone that joins a adventuring group and is about to go into battle would most likely seek means to protect himself, especially from arrows. But also cuts. Not to forget that some clothes are not very practical out in the wild.

this is of course affected by how magic works. In many settings magicians can't use metallic armour just to balance them.

Pledged $20.00. Never did this before, sounds too good to be true, but if I don't believe in this then I'll never believe in anything.
I hope they can go well beyond the $1 100 000 goal, just like Wasteland 2 did -- that doesn't sound much for what they're trying to achieve. Not that I'm in a position to judge, and if this particular group of people doesn't know how to handle the money for such a project, then I don't know who else does.

Notice how she says "took romance out"'. Like it's already in. Goddamn Biotards, they really think that's what an RPG is. You know, I don't have any problems per se with romances in games (as long as they're not the focus of the game) but I so hope there won't be any in this game just so these deranged fuckers would cry.
Same fuckers I've seen babbling about having Boo or references to him in this game. Goddamn.

The problem is not romances in rpgs per se, they can add whatever they want in fact the more features in a rpg the better it is , the problem is romance AND streamlining, removing the character creation, stats, removing any tactical depth and strategic combat to end up with a press A to awesome game centered about cinematics and companion interaction.Thats what bioware is selling nowadays, and thats what i dont want to see anymore.

925000 $ right now, i remember david gaider posting here about how he did not want bioware to end up like troika , bankrupt with a few grognards praising the game on forums, guess there's more than a few grognards , and we have the money to fund it. The amount of cash gathered, and so quickly show theres a huge need of true rpgs , and people can afford paying for them.
So yes its fantasy it could have been more original, but the guys cant take that much risk at first, their company fate is at sake. If those projects work, youl will see new turn based , new wizardry type games appearing too , its only a matter of time now .

Those kickstarter are really a good thing, it solves completely the piracy problem, the game is paid already so if its torrented , no big deal. And it also allow me to say a big fuck you to EA , fuck you syndicate shooter, fuck you utlimate garage sale, fuck you bioware facebook ultima ! Here comes a new golden age of rpgs!
