I hope perma death will be in. I can deal with RtwP but this stupid "party members fall unconcious" bullshit is a no go.

FO2 doesn't even have much of a starter dungeon. You kick a few bugs in the face and next thing you know kids are pelting you with rocks and you're shooting jet with some biker gangs and helping enslave the poor.

Feels like the first half of the game is on the rails though. Takes ages before you're strong enough to wander around the map at your leisure

And Sawyers favorite game of all time is Darklands.

And we all know how well that game's RTWP ended up :drink:

Also, I played through MotB not suffering through any romances. No sight of them in Storm of Zehir and Dungeon Siege 3. Perfectly avoidable in Alpha Brotocol. Haven't played New Vegas for longer than an hour, but as far as I know, it's pretty romance-free as well. This gives me enough assurance that I won't have to stomach Bioware fanfic in this game.

"I guess you guys realize that you have an awesome responsibility here. With Obsidian's (mostly unjustified but still ubiquitous) infamy for releasing buggy games, this is the point where you have the perfect opportunity to disprove all the naysayers into submission.
I am sure that I will get a rich world with detailed quests and meaningful companions that will not be my sexual slaves as most RPGs make them nowadays. What I am concerned about is the ruleset. Can you please release some information about that? How deep will be the character creation system? Will the Obsidian engine be used to render the graphics? What art-themes can we expect? What level of magic-world we will see (high fantasy/low fantasy)?
We are all dying to know answers to these questions.
I am sure there needs be no mystery about these issues and they can be revealed without much spoiling of the plot. In fact I am quite sure that such information will only draw more positive attention to the project and more publicity!
Finally, my dream-game is being made and I would be glad to see it made to perfection!
Yours sincerely!"

They also made a few early decisions that are very smart. For example – not committing to full VO
Why even bring that up? Did any KS project make the dumb decision to use full VA for their wall of text RPG?

You can go pretty much anywhere right from the start and you can end the game with the same shirt on your back that you started it with.

This is going well so far, they are raising money faster than Tim Schafer and Double Fine who ended up with over 3.3 mill,it would be nice if Obsidian got over 4 mill for this project

I don't think it will reach $4 mill but hopefully it will equal Wasteland 2 and DFA at around $3 mill.

Now we can bitch all we want about RTWP but let's not lose sight of the real issue at hand. The Biodrones are coming.

Swarming over this project with their grubby fetish driven hands- already there is demand for a console version on the Obsidian forum and plenty of mainstream sites are dubbing this a "Baldur's Gate Spiritual Successor" (THIS NEEDS TO BE MORE THAN JUST BG DAMN IT!).

I personally didn't like BG much, but when did we get anything at least on par with BG? I think you are just over reacting...

Has any mentioned that with Kickstarter funding, they get to keep the IP?

Eternity could be worth quite a bit to them.
When Bioware finally goes under they can license the IP to its remnants in an ironic twist.

At this rate, Bioware will soon have their own "SAVE BIOWARE" Kickstarter

"John Riccitiello said he wouldn't shut us down if we brought in half the funding for our next game by ourselves. That's where you come in!"

Yes. I can't wait for Eternity Effect: Origins, with romanceable fully dialogued non-player character tranny queers who are also black chinese jews.

In the video, when describing magic and souls in-game, I wish Josh Sawyer had said:

These characters have soul. They'll even sing the blues.

Project: Eternity
Takes a few hours to get into it. The starter dungeon is something we all had to endure, especially us compulsive restarters.

I remember liking the fact that good weapons and ammo were scarce in the beginning. Finding a bunch of shotgun shells was a big deal. Then later, the conditions changed when you were powerful enough to just roam the place. It was a nice feeling of progression, but yes, maybe a bit too slow if you replay it for the fifth time and just want to get out there.

I thought that John Riccitiello would need a kickstarter of his own soon. Wasn't he rumoured to be on his way out?

How fast did WL2 reach $1M? This seems to be even faster?

Wasteland 2 took about a day and a half to fund completely. This looks like it will be funded within less than 24 hours. So, yes.

Yeah, I'm a bit worried about this. There's honestly nothing less interesting than Gaelic mythology (Scot here)

Grass, fence?
Possibly, but as part of instilling a healthy European loathing for ourselves, our country, our ancestors and our very culture, we shy away from acknowledging that Gaelic mythology ever existed in school, the arts, etc. I found out everything I know about it from the internet.
