is there any way to hide what you're playing and own on steam? aside from turning your status into offline?

or alternatively will this game be on gog? or itch.io?

It will be on itchio in a few days.
Good.
Steam Germany won't let me access your store page... And you seem to have more than one buy/download option because the wishlist only shows the "view details" button (links to the inaccessible store page) instead of the instant buy option :/ Same as with Subverse.

I actually want to see where you go with the story, amusingly enough.

So I'm going to migrate my game from the JRPG forum to here, because the game is only aesthetically similar to JRPGs, but mostly a cRPG in design philosophy, writing style and in its various systems.

Some of the more degenerate members of the codex may already be aware of the game, so instead of pasting the various features and descriptions of the game here, I'll simply drop this quote from PC Gamer:

Don't judge a book by its horny weeb-ass cover, I guess.

Steam page for those interested: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1177380/Memoirs_of_a_Battle_Brothel/

I'll just get straight to the point and solicit opinions from you haggard, veteran grognards:

I'm building a porn RPG with deep lore, c&c, New Vegas-style factions, Battle Brothers-esque openworld gameplay, set in a Shadowrun-inspired cyberpunk setting.

How do I get rich?

get rich by making a great game, and then if you are lucky, the word of mouth spreads and before u know it u have 5k reviews on steam. :)

by the way, i picked up your singularity: tactics arena game. looks great! i haven't played yet and have a ton of games i have to get to, but it's certainly up there on my list. thanks for that. :) <3

edit - and i will be checking out this game, too, eventually.

My next major update to the game will be expanding the overworld, freeroam gameplay. I'm taking a page from CYOA games for these, and I'm actually really excited to see how these will play out in a RPG of this type. Think of Battle Brothers contracts, but a little bit expanded and tweaked to fit the setting.

Here's a typical Faction-specific Contract.

You meet up with your Iron Cartel contact and undertake a Heist. The contact gives you a description of the location, the item you'll be "retrieving," and who's guarding it. The player will move their party to the heist location on the map and start their planning phase, which are 5-6 options they can take to increase their chances of pulling off the heist successfully.

For example:

  • Buy tools
  • Call in a favor
  • Get backup
  • Case the area
  • Rehearse the heist
Each of these will cost a resource, but add a +1 to the encounter roll.

After finishing your planning phase, the player will move to the execution phase, where they choose a tactic for the heist. Depending on who is guarding the location, these will result in additional roll benefits.

For example, if the location is guarded by a minor gang, causing a diversion will cause them to check on it, whereas a diversion will have no effect on trained corporate mercenaries.

Then we do the encounter roll, which is really just a skill check, as one of the player's attributes is chosen at random (Athletics, Perception, Charisma, Technology) and its modifier (plus and bonuses from the previous phases) are applied to a D6. All this is framed appropriately in text.

How well the player rolls will determine what kind of situation they find themselves in: whether they mission impossible the package and leave, or are led by the guards into a trap, etc.

Anyways, I just wanted to spitball some ideas. I realize it doesn't make too much sense.

Drop the cyberpank schtick and go for proper ancient Rome / Byzantine / Renaissance inspired setting instead. Otherwise not buying.

Eh I'm a big Roman history buff but I don't think I'm the right person for that.

I'll meet you halfway with some grimdark cyberpunk Romans tho. Here's some concept art.

And a load of useless, TLDR lore:

The Bren-Thulian Imperium, or the Mainland Imperium, as it is generally called outside of its borders, is notable for being the sole superpower in 1154 AFM. It is both the largest and most populous nation in the world, spanning most of the western continent of Maen, and previously having held colonies on the Zimalayan coast.

The Imperium is an eclectic mix of ethnicities, cultures, beliefs and administrations. With a collective population of over two billion, the day-to-day operation of the government is run by a vast bureaucracy.

While nominally still a monarchy, with Empress Celestine V as a figurehead, the Imperium is in truth a representative democracy. The Grand Senate is led by a triumvirate, a role that is given to the leaders of the three most powerful political parties of any one given time. In recent years, the Imperium has pursued an agenda of uneasy coexistence with the other nations of the world, brought on in part by a contentious military expedition to Zimalaya to support the UDA rebels, itself a bid to restore the Imperium’s control over its former colonies.

As showcased in the Zimalayan Military Expedition, the Imperial Armed Forces can still rightly claim to be the most powerful military in the world, bar none. With the vast resources and personnel of the Imperium to draw on, the IAF can field not only a technologically sophisticated force, but also a numerous one at that. Throughout the Zimalayan Civil War, IAF forces overwhelmingly claimed victory in every engagement they were involved in, and in many key instances turned the tide of battle for the under-trained, under-equipped UDA rebels.

The IAF also had an adaptability for modern warfare which is impressive for its behemoth size. The fierce urban warfare in the Zimalayan Civil War prevented the IAF war machine from relying on tanks or air support. Outside of smart missiles and drones, the IAF instead adopted a new combat doctrine that saw the rise of the modern legionary.

Well-trained, thoroughly disciplined and equipped with a variety of different tools and weaponry, the average IAF legionary was leagues above their respective counterparts. Standard issue gear consists of a Taggert M55 rifle, a Hawa PD personal sidearm, the now-iconic ceramfoam scutum (shield), and personnel reactive body armor with flash strips.

The IAF’s rollout of a combat shield the size of the scutum was initially much lambasted. However, it’s light weight and protection against small arms fire (especially the poorly-designed Landu 4.33 cartridge) resulted in success in the dense, once prosperous cities of coastal Zimalaya.

While the prowess of the IAF is uncontested, the conflict was nonetheless marred by the shaky political reasoning for the Imperium’s involvement, several infamous war crimes and atrocities led by the UDA rebels and IAF alike, and the war’s declining popularity back home.

Well ok then, will keep an eye. Still that Roman chad would look far superior with a gladius in hand.

This one. Her current artwork looks a bit different but I prefer this version more. Before you get too excited though, you can't really get with her in any meaningful way.

How did you manage to escape from the JRPG forum? Don't be surprised if you're placed here again at some point.

Either way, that sci-fi Roman drawing looks sexy despite not being a chick.

A cyberpunk setting where the girls look feminine?

What dangerous game are you playing?
