Apparently, there is (or was) this thing called XDefiant that came and died.

XDefiant is Falling Behind Expectations, Ubisoft Confirms

Ubisoft admits that XDefiant has failed to meet expectations

With shares at 10-year lows, Assassin's Creed maker Ubisoft faces questions over its future

  • Ubisoft, which is behind the "Assassin's Creed" franchise, last week said it has postponed the release of the next title in the popular game series by three months to Feb. 14, 2025.
  • Shares of Ubisoft, which also cut net bookings guidance for its full fiscal year and second quarter, have slumped to decade lows on the back of dismal investor expectations about the company's triple-A games pipeline and financial prospects.
  • Last week, activist investor AJ Investments said it was working with other Ubisoft shareholders to push the company to sell itself to private equity firms or to Chinese gaming giant Tencent, which already holds a stake in the French game publisher.
...

[Here's the clowncar.]

Still, some analysts were more sympathetic to Ubisoft's struggles.

Analysts at Wedbush Securities suggested the firm had become the victim of coordinated "trolling" from people trying to force down user score averages for the company's Star Wars Outlaws game on review sites.

"We believe Star Wars Outlaws was impacted by a coordinated effort that sought to troll Ubisoft games specifically and Star Wars content in general," Wedbush analysts Michael Pachter, Alicia Reese and Kade Bar wrote in the note last week.

"The game received an unusual number of user reviews with a clear negative bias (including a large percentage of "zero" reviews), despite seeing acceptable review scores from reputable review sites. This is a case of a rare incel victory that led to Ubisoft having to take down its numbers," they added.

Wedbush's analysts said that, despite delays to its upcoming Assassin's Creed title, they expect the game to sell 7 million units in its launch quarter and think it has "potential to be one of Ubisoft's best sellers ever."
...

James Lockyer, technology research analyst at U.K. investment bank Peel Hunt, said that part of the problem for game publishers today is that gamers are devoting more of their time to older games than to newer titles.

They used that word without a hint of irony. In a serious source, to boot. Imagine if it was "nigger" the word that was used. Truly, a WWIII will do us wonders since the mouthbreathers will be the first to die.

You know, in the next iteration of Ass Creed, set it during the height of the Trans-African slave trade, where Islamic merchants were engaged in the commerce of enslaved Africans (bought from warring African tribes, no less). Focus on some Uga-Buga and his fight to freedom as he beheads a mullah or some such in the climax.

[At a caravan stop]
Uga-Buga:
Plees, Massa. Plees, food.
Achmed Al-Pedo: Hrak-thoo. Eat that, ape.

[Time passes. Late at night. Uga purloins a sword left outside a tent where the guards are busy bumming each other.]
Uga-Buga, menacingly into the camera:
Now... me free.

[Uga lunges into Al-Pedo's tent, where his ten-year old niece is sucking him off.]
Uga-Buga:
Raargh!

[Swick! Squick! Uga lops both Al-Pedo's heads off.]
Niece, to Uga-Buga:
Thank you so much for saving me from that monster!
Uga-Buga:
Shoosh! You fetch goo' price with Cheef Chapa-Khapa. Move!

[Fade to black. Roll credits.]

Of course, Ubisoft by then will be in the grip of the Chinese Communists, so they probably won't do it.

what's funny is that an islamic assassin's creed where you enslave caucasians and commit rape without repercussions would be fun, but Ubi can never make one without people realizing that's what we're all living in now

EXCLUSIVE – Assassin’s Creed Shadows Co-Op Mode Is in Development
assassins-creed-shadows-coop.jpg

[Emphasis added]

Assassin’s Creed Shadows currently has a co-op mode in development, which is scheduled to release post-launch.

The new co-op game mode, codenamed LEAGUE, is under development at Ubisoft but doesn’t have a set release date due to the game’s recent postponement, which is affecting the entire Assassin’s Creed pipeline. However, sources tell me that LEAGUE was in development long before the postponement and that this wasn’t an addition because of the delay.

While specific details on what the game mode actually entails are slim, presumably, the co-op mode will see Naoe and Yasuke fight side-by-side, using their different combat abilities to take out enemies.

That isn’t the only multiplayer Assassin’s Creed experience to hit players’ hands within the next 18 months, either. It’s understood that Assassin’s Creed Invictus, a fully-fledged multiplayer experience, will come in 2025.

Other Assassin’s Creed games in development
include an Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake under the code name Obsidian and Codename Hexe, which has been described as “the darkest Assassin’s Creed to date”.

i just heard that if concord lost 400, that other pirate game was closer to 900.
I heard it was fifty trillion 309582435622395 dollars.

 just let it go man.
I don't care about Ubisoft or Ass Creed, but it does bother me how someone will make up a number, everyone will go WOW THATS UNBELIEVABLE! and believe it and spread it to other people who go WOW THATS UNBELIEVABLE! and believe it.
Stop manufacturing mind viruses to poison other people, please. Its harmless, if annoying, when it comes to alleged video game budgets. But you monkeys do that about everything else, including politics and people's personal life gossip. Stawp.

Pretty bold, Ubisoft...
The board member takeover attempt that is underway is specifically to make Ubisoft stop releasing weirder lower budget games and publishing indies, and to focus on only releasing Assassins Creed and Far Cry every year, because that's where the money is.
I've seen people celebrate this, as if it would be better for Ubisoft to just be Electronic Arts 2, and not the company that publishes Trackmania, Just Dance and Immortals Fenyx Rising.

Yet you still seem upset about reported loss of over 50 trillion dollars by Ubisoft.

Ubisoft loses key Rainbow Six exec at a critical point for the publisher

100872_1_ubisoft-loses-key-rainbow-six-exec-at-critical-point-for-the-publisher.jpg

[Emphasis added]
Sources tell Insider Gaming that Cameron Lee, vice president of the Rainbow Six franchise, has reportedly left Ubisoft.
...
... Ubisoft also confirmed a sweeping executive-level review of its core business. Now it appears that the Rainbow Six franchise was affected by this process, as R6 VP Cameron Lee is said to no longer be working at Ubisoft. This is potentially happening as a voluntary departure, or it could be a layoff and job elimination at the behest of corporate.
...
Rainbow Six is one of Ubisoft's most important franchises, with R6 Siege raking in consistent millions of dollars in microtransactions every quarter. It's unknown how Lee's supposed departure will impact future Rainbow Six content and/or games across Ubisoft's various studios and teams.

[In other words, if you're losing money, remove people from the few profit-making centers.]

Just say that you've sold 6 million copies of your game and prosecute everyone who says that you've sold less.
