In before Kicstarter introduces a higher minumun goal.
Why would they do that? If people want to throw their money on a 1$ project then why stop them. If you want to raise a serious amount of money you'll have to set a serious goal. In the project above they already have a movie made, and are looking for funds to help promote it, so any amount of money will be useful.

If say, Wasteland 2 had set a $1 goal, people would have been reluctant t pledge since there would be a high risk of getting charged but Fargo not raising enough money to actually make a game. Setting a realistic goal encourages people to donate since they know they won't pay anything unless the project raises enough money that it can possibly succeed.

In this particular case, they already have a finished product that one can buy - a movie. For 10$ you get that movie, even though the price is double on Amazon. They just want to collect some money to be able to participate in some festivals from what I've quickly read.

Long Live Mr Poopie!

* High Concept

A Simple all-ages videogame about a controversial Character Mr.Poopie, a living (dog) poo trying to get out of the Inevitable fact of getting eaten by the Mc.Flies

* Game Overview
A Running (bouncing) Mr.Poopie in Sidescroll view, jumping and dodging different types of flies to reach the largest score in a leaderboard, endless addictive type of gaming.

Mr. Poopie increases speed while untouched by any flies, different sizes of flies makes different slowdowns, the mini flies generate just tiny slow bumps, while being touched by a big fly (3 to 5 Mc.Flies) these get sticked to Mr.Poopie making it impossible to keep on jumping, making a party rock on Mr.Poopie head the McFlies invasion.

This Ages- Ludic game, the fun topic will be the censure of the fact that is an excrement, this psychological ‘protection’ will be the reason will make it fun of playing with a ‘prohibited’ topic.

Trying to avoid the flies while watching Mr.Poopie desperate but happy running for his life, the terrifying fact of having the character with 2 big McFlies sticked, and being about to get hit by the Third McFly will be an adrenaline factor, it’s a funny topic and a different way of seeing things, never done before, people will be playing a game about an ‘excrement’ having the most fun about it, something that could be a controversial topic with the possibility of going viral.

* Game Concept
Mr.Poopie Running for his life dodging McFlies to reach his goal = a Sewer? no Goal? you decide!

* Game Flow
The Game starts at the Main Screen, where Mr.Poopie haven’t born

by clicking the Start-Game-Button named ‘Push it!’ a sound will be generated as a funny ‘fart’ and Mr.Poopie will descend to the ground, becoming confused and ready to start The Run.

That Light of Day does sound interesting. I think they are asking for too much. Should probably scale back down in scope first, then expand from there.

Sorry but this is another Cyber Shot, no prior experience in gaming and just blah, blah, coupled with the libertarian pandering that seems to be rampant through various projects.
And it's instead of its.
This go with mr. Poopie.

Missed that, and the use of whose referring to a corporation, yeah, I forgot that corporations are persons too.
I wonder if their concept art are just CAD drawn computer parts , like in that Graham Greene book.

Republique is getting a PC version: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/486250632/republique-by-camouflaj-logan/posts/215609
They finally realized that they would never get enough funding just from the iDevice crowd. Now, it starts looking interesting.
Not to be negative here, but first they needed 1M just for an iOs game, half provided by a publisher, now they are promising an equivalent game for PC, pfft, of a game specifically tailored for mobile devices, LOL, they are just desperate, oh well, we'll see.

Republique sounds like pretentious shit and a moneygrab. Whey do they need so much money to make such a game?

They need to raise the money for proving that there is a market and get funded by a publisher, but the production costs are estimated at 1M.

The sheer fact that Republique will have a Publisher (as in they will co-fund if they get their 500K) involved with it's production means it will be shit. They are defeating the entire purpose of KickStarter.

Looks like they have more than just an idea at least.

Backpack and pouches !? In an rpg !
Genius ! I mean it's quite rare so i'm not even joking. If they go the realistic way it can be a more of a roguelike than anything.
Too bad i missed the early special :(
Nice find anyhow :bro:

Edit: "Enjoy a brief, optional story campaign “Gnostaria: Golem Wars” and take part in the exciting story of golem-kind throughout the realm. Can a golem really have a heart of gold?"
In before golem waifus :smug:

Looks like nstaCharge is going to be successful since it hit $12,160 and has 47 hours to go.

I would also recommend that OP explains what that new color is for Kickstarters to explain it for any newcomers.

Also, for those who care, Republique is getting a PC and Mac version. Apparently, those idollars weren't enough :D

This deserves a post on its own, the best Kixkstarter ever, a guy want 85K$ for a wine tour of Italy, I salute his noble effort:salute:, only a world pussy tour could rival such majestic project.

An apt video:
