So I conquered the Miko Institute any advice on how not to get raped by Tanegashima's musket units?

Foot soldiers and diviners are your best friends.

First guard with foot soldiers and try to cast protective shikigami on them. Katsuie should be able to take 1-2 pounces on himself. In the final battle Tanegashima Shig and Yuzumi are murderers.

Use you newly accquired Natori and her Miko Storm to wear the defenders down. If Isoroku has WhirlWind Shot spam it on weaker units.

Battles with Tanegashima are generally hard... but not as hard as what's waiting for you ahead :smug:

Tanegashima battle took a couple of reloads for the final territory but I final got them

Can't decide which army to conquer thinking of steam rolling the sect.

However I'm also considering the Mouri or Takeda.
What I really want is to conquer enough territory to stave of Oda's bulllshit long enough so I can get around to some dungeon crawls and character leveling up

mouri? takeda? you won't stand a chance...tokugawa is about 40% of their strength...go for them first. take one territory off the sect first, so that you have more nation power.
oh: and you have 50 satisfaction. buy the 3rd action bonus NOW

Insert clever insult here
Beauty is that there are several different ways to conquer each house and to the battles as well. I did it quite differently from what WW and Mrowak did. Suzumi, for example, has the great assasination ability that can take away a nasty enemy unit - except it doesn't work that well against plot important characters. Still, she is so fucking fast and she is much more lethal than Kanami so she can be used to swipe down enemy musketeers or ninjas.

Yeah, much love for Sengoku Rance!

Updated map.

Should I engage the new faction so I can prevent mouri from taking it over?

Go for it. They're pretty much a push-over, outside of a couple of scripted auto-retreat events.

Good: Final stretch of the tokugawa territory
Bad: Those furries are fucking strong

Suggestions? Also after this should finish off Akashi, the Hanny kingdom or hurry up and add Kenshin for the sake of having another strong commander?

How about you leave Akashi the fuck alone, what's the point in taking them, not to mention they have a fucking Gourd. Mouri? You seriously think you will have time to take on the Mouri?

General suggestion, concentrate on the east. Takeda will be a bitch but what's new.

In the first games if you wait too long Mouri will conquer Akashi and it will count as gourd conquest - demon will get what he wants next turn. If Chuftie engages Akashi fast he will break the script leading to the event. And since Akashi are the pushovers incarnate he can wait with the final confrontation with them till Kingdom Come focusing on different Targets.

@Chuftie.

It's tough call but let Tokugawa dudes try to reclaim some of their territories and whenever they attack check with scout who they have in their army - if a furry defend yourself with units having Defeated Warrior Hunt Skill. Focus your fire on the units so they are either killed or captured. If you will manage to take 2-3 of them down and 'convert' them to your cause the showdown at Tokugawa Stronghold should be much easier.

After that, do as Whiskey said, go for the east. Declare war on Hannies and if you are a completionist attack Takeda after that. Else you might be in for a nasty 'surprise' when you'll conquer either Uesugi or Houjo (well, not really. If you read all the events carefully it should not be all that suprising. It stays nasty though :/ ).

Edit: Oh, and whatever you do don't you ever, ever, ever vasalise territory. Rance does not want it. Trust us. The only exception from that rule is the Tenshi sect.

All right I'm going for Akashi since fuck Mouri! :decline:
Tokugawa will be a defensive game/attrition war on Mrowalk.
Akashi should take a turn and a half if the Gynoid auto-lose event is after every
win. It is right?

As for the nasty "surprise" can you tell me about it as the past hundred events involving Takeda, Uesugi, and Houjou involve them battling to draws.

Also the next satisfaction bonuses should totally be Reinforcements (Leila), extra action, Rance attack, followed by Zeth reinforcements.

So I've been and off again attacking Tokugawa trying to see if I can break through, nothing so far but I captured one of the furry units but he's the weakass ninja with no assassinate ability.

The inability to win the final battle against them is making me wish I had "Witty comeback" and turtle my way to victory.

SO HIVEMIND I ASK OF YOU! What should be my plans to breakthrough besides playing defensively and hoping to capture some furfag commanders?

What am I supposed to do wait them out until I get some of their units then strike?

So I got some questions is it worth it to keep those mutated NPCs that I captured and will I be missing out on not being able to equip Kazemaru with The Ring of Emperors, boosting him to godly stats?

Also any particular strategy when it comes to the increased damage resistance that happens whenever one of the Takeda members rides out into combat?

For combat buffs, use your tacticians! They are not as useless as they might seem at first glance.

If the Takeda use their cavalry to attack your commanders in the back, use one of the commanders with the "Guard all" ability or try to assassinate the cavalry unit at the beginning of the battle with one of your ninjas (Suzume).

Regarding your captured commanders, that's basically your decision. If you like them, recruit them. Keep in mind that you can always dismiss commanders if you need free space for others.

(yes, finally got around to playing Kenshin-route)

You don't say. This Friday I assembled a new computer. Naturally first thing I did was play games I own which run like crap on my previous machine. Having played MOTB and TWitcher for a while with a decent framerate I made a fatal error - I installed Sengoku Rance.

Result: two days of life wasted - I just had got to finish the true route for the 3rd time :dizzy:

After Kenshin's route you might want to play Isoroku's. Best ending evah!! Though if you plan to go for others I would live that one for the last playthrough.

Yes, Rance is very addictive. Since the last time I posted, I finished both the Kenshin and Nanjo Ran routes. I'm too burned out right now to try the Isoroku route, but one day...
