*Between the turn*

This time only one event... oh joy.

alcg0358.jpg

So basically, if we conquer Uesugi they will attack the green guys and vice versa.

Turn #14

By "one event" I meant "there be another one as soon as we start our turn.

alcg0360.jpg

alcg0361.jpg

alcg0362.jpg

alcg0363.jpg

alcg0364.jpg

So Rance went to check on Nobunaga.

alcg0365.jpg

Of course he won't give up that easily. Thanks to Suzume he enters through the back door.

alcg0366.jpg

alcg0367.jpg

alcg0368.jpg

alcg0369.jpg

alcg0370.jpg

Talk about being right on the money.

alcg0371.jpg

But let's get back to stuff that is more important - "The Final Solution to the Furry Problem" plan.

alcg0372.jpg

Let's look up the information/objective screen once more. From the countries that we conquered only Ashikaga had a "sealed gourd". The Rodents that we will attack next also don't have it, this is good. I will explain this later on.

alcg0373.jpg

Time to make place for Himiko. First we sell the troops that the Commander had under himself, then we fire him.

alcg0374.jpg

What is important in this game is "quality", not "quantity".

alcg0375.jpg

What does this event do? It gives us a valuable item.

alcg0376.jpg

I will refrain from using it, for now.

alcg0377.jpg

Now it's time to buff up one of our Commanders - Yamamoto. We need 7 points of affection, she already has two (smiley face). Thanks to the items we obtained during our campaign we add to her affection (Scroll +3).

alcg0378.jpg

Drum +2. In other words we give them gifts.

alcg0379.jpg

Now that her affection love is "7" it's time for her event. If you remember she wanted to look for her brother.

alcg0380.jpg

Unfortunately he's dead.

alcg0381.jpg

Of course Rance has an answer for that. Yamamoto says that it can't be a foreigner... our Hero won't give in that easily.

alcg0382.jpg

Time to gain some kickass ability... and it only uses up two actions. Hurr, hurr, hurr.

alcg0383.jpg

As you can see now she's looking for a husband. We will let her, for now.

alcg0384.jpg

Last Fan goes to WAR! Purge The Filth!

I would prefer to get that 10 points. Time will show.

Yeah, I almost never conquered them preDEmon Army. Let's try it earlier.

On another note, dawg! Remember that Isoroku can give you 2 free commanders if you have 7 spare NP (they cost 5 but you must have 7). Pretty nice, as they got good utility in neg, sea, and etc. Plus they are free.

Like I said, dont be afraid to use fans to build up your lands.

After re-reading some posts, I see you are lucky until now, WW.
Except the capture of Himiko, second Miko battle is rage-inducing. Little assassin Goemon has Assassination2 and maxed Battle Preparation. This freak made me reload a lot of time. He always auto-kills one of commanders. I hate this faggot. Still he is neat on your side.

Yeah, I'm not denying that. If only I would be as lucky in finding a fucking Job.
Except the capture of Himiko, second Miko battle is rage-inducing.
Heh, re-read it again, I captured her on my second try.

That's why you whack the motherfucker as soon as he shows his ugly face.

Actually, I find it a bad idea. Rebuilding consumes one Fan and a few commanders, conquest is faster and more profitable. I will probably only use it when it seems absolutely necessary.

I agree that spending time just to build and get more national power is a bit weak. Frankly, you actually strengthen yourself more during war time then peace even if you aren't conquering. All of your units that take part in battle gain like 10 (max) troops, thats worth a LOT of gold, especially taking into consideration the increased troop cost when your units get bigger. You can make the equivalent of 5k-10k gold just for being in a fight with 6 units (you have to subtract the cost of healing those units, but thats always dirt cheap in comparison). Not to mention you get those nice affection increasing items for winning battle.

Its good to take advantage of this early on if you dungeon for items, since you can use the same commanders to attack a dungeon and defend at the same time.

Actually, Goemon can turn up on any army. I believe he starts out with Ashikaga and if you take them down without killing/capturing him then he gets rehired elsewhere.

Goemon start out in one then hitched with other lands. He's one of my longest prison guest, along with the furry ninja.

My style is divide your roster to 3 part: The elite troops is for defeat strong army and castle battle. The Normal troops is for defense, cause if nothing else, buying time always work. Last is the utility commander. Keep their fucking troops down to 1, and make full use of them in build, search, Negotiation. One reason why the old men always get 1 sat bonus to call and 1 sat bonus to get the act 2 times a turn artifact. The cat item.

Xavier was a bitch. Surprisingly, the first time was much worse than the second since Kentarou was lv99 when I reached the end. I had also done all except two dungeons.

Interestingly, the AI cheats with commanders, in that they have many, many more commanders than they can afford but it doesn't cheat with troops - it is possible to bleed hostile nations dry, especially if they insist on attacking you. True, it's very hard if they have something like 40-70k troops to begin with since it's hard to inflict them significantly more casualties than what their replacement rate is unless you have 2-3 hard-hitting groups. Granted, cheating is the only for the AI to actually stand any chances, since they seem to heal their units with money but actions and the combat AI is usually pretty moronic.

I am slightly miffed that the usually most important facet of a strategy-game - positioning/mobility - has no use here. Your troops live in a pocket-plane and jump out to fight in any province you wish. Thus there is no point in trying to cut enemy lines or to shorten borders or any of the other manoeuvres that you habitually take in non-hentai strategy games.

In other news, I ditched the FFA and restarted. Got the crazy monk as a bonus character and I'm now trying to "fix" the issues I had in the first game - like saving Kenshin and Kouhime plus getting reinforcements and actually conquering most of Japan before Xavier comes to buttrape everyone. Really not looking forward to Takeda, though :(

Oh and Goemon is better in assassination than Suzume. Even though they both have "assasination2", she fails more often than him. Oh and important captains seem to be immune, when employed by enemy and vulnerable when employed by you.

Oh2 - this game would be awesome in multiplayer. I can just imagine the cries of frustration that would emerge.

Battle permits are your friends. If done quickly and with a bit of luck they won't blitz and you won't meet even one of their generals.

Yeah, apparently you have 3 turns to take out their main two provinces. Oh well, furries are annoying as well. EXTERMINATUS is necessary and wholly justified.

Kojika looks for support in Iga, the outcome is as usual.
Actually "Kojika" as a name sound pretty badass.

alcg0385-5.jpg

Event from Mouri, explanation not needed.

alcg0385-7.jpg

Furries counter-attack. As you can see Uesugi Kenshi has come to help us.

alcg0385-8.jpg

We owned them, no surprise.

alcg0386.jpg

The Tenshi are sending an envoy to Oda.

alcg0387.jpg

Furries, take #2.

alcg0388.jpg

alcg0389.jpg

More pets for Suzume.

alcg0390.jpg

Hannies, probably the biggest faggots in the game, stay the fuck away. Talk only by using a sword.

Turn #15

alcg0391.jpg

Remember when I was talking about the gourds. Some of the factions have them. Nobunaga... I mean the Demon "Xavier" needs all eight off them to regain his full strength. As of now we are helping him by conquering Nippon/Japan... well, no. As for now I'm attacking those factions that don't have them, fuck you Asshole-Ancient-Evil.

alcg0392.jpg

Once again, those factions have the gourds.

alcg0393.jpg

The Furries have four strong-points (large, small, small, medium).

alcg0394.jpg

Our forces. For 7000 of Gold we buy more troops for Rance's Unit (580 to 683).

Battle #1
alcg0395.jpg

Well, who do we have here? Everybody's favourite ninja, Goemon. Wait minute, isn't "Goemon" one of the characters in "Lupin the 3rd"?

alcg0396.jpg

Now this is "barely".

alcg0397.jpg

Tokugawa asks for help from them Hannies. They promise to help but forget everything as soon as he leaves.

alcg0398.jpg

Just look who got himself caught. I didn't intend to capture him, he just fell into my hands.

Battle #2
alcg0399.jpg

alcg0400.jpg

Yamamoto kicksass with "Commander Snipe".

alcg0401.jpg

Walk in a park.

alcg0402.jpg

Oho, here comes the filth. Get ready.

alcg0403.jpg

What I'm doing here is a pretty bold move. I still have some troops in reserve for the counter-attack that will probably never come.

alcg0404.jpg

We're fucking victorious! I'm so proud from those two that from no one I will call the the "Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition" Duo.

alcg0405.jpg

We got one Furry. Damn, the Warrior Unit would have been better.

alcg0406.jpg

"Final Solution" is going well, so far.

I do hope we never end up capturing the blue-haired loli because it's one of the most hideous things I've ever seen.

Hahahahaha... I messed up. Tried to get into Ran-IF route and by the time I conquered Houjou I had 5 gourds. Shouldn't have captured the Akashi House. Damn it.

Reloading ~30 turns ;..;

€: also where did you get the blue haired monk girl? I only captured Himiko.

Recruit Mino-3 from M-something Oil Field. You have to listen to rumour beforehand. After that you can get her as satisfaction bonus : "Recruit Dousan-chan". And voilà.
That'll take 5 fans in total.

To all of you who think the Blue-Haired Loli is hideous or to expensive - FUCK YOU. Believe me, her ability to transfer actions mid-battle is a fucking awesome. I will equip Himiko in the same ability as soon as I have enough affection-bonus-items (I hope).

Oh yeah, no further updates until we hit the next page.

Indeed. In dungeon battles units like Himiko are the difference between a high level Rance getting 2 regular attacks and 1 powerful attack for modest damage, and him getting 2 regular attacks and 7 powerful attacks that can assrape the majority of bosses. In terms of fan's used, it would take far longer to buff your unit's levels enough to make up for not having the monks.

Soo, I was considering to start a playthrough to this game. Do you need AWESUM skills on turn-based games, or it's pretty challenging but not impossible (providing you save constantly or something)?

Also, Bump.

You may find your first playthrough quite challenging. There will also be some places that will feel like hitting your head against a wall... so yes, it's challenging.

EDIT: Oh fuck, the next page.
