Files for the Casino Manager look fine to me. Give that, I presume your other errors must stem from a faulty installation. Backup your saves and download/install the game again. If the problems persist, share your save file with us at the location with the issues so that we may confirm what’s going on.
I'm getting my own errors. The kid you give the music box to is saying error, and the game crashes with this pop up:

KidError.png

AdolfSatan

Edit: I did a fresh install, loaded with the Russian language, tried the kid. He was fine. Applied the github English translation, loaded game again. Kid's giving errors.

Edit2: Fresh DL from github and reapply did nothing.

We’ll take a look at that. It’s in Casa Grande, right? Don’t forget to mention where the NPCs are when reporting a bug, please.

Yeah, Casa Grande.

I got around the kid by handing him the music box randomly clicking the Russian dialogue tree then saved and reapplied the English translation.

Noticed too once I got the villagers back to the villa 1/3 of them were saying "error" standing around.

Also, and I can't recall what locations it was at now was 2 or 3 at least, but I was getting weird phantom dialogue pop ups here and there in many locations being said where no NPCs were standing.

I got those error responses from that kid near the bath house in Casa Grande too, although I did not have a music box to give him.

Also, the workbenches next to Carlos in Tuscon had Russian text.

Difficulty really ramps up in Dayglow. You are only allowed to bring 20# of gear, which for me was a suit of combat armor. Ammo and chems are weightless, however. The trip is one way. Enemies are tough, even at lvl 21, and will target to cripple (successfully) often. There is always background radiation, so your radaway will wear off and you will start to get radiated if you use doctor a lot and doc bags are rare.

Violator is currently reviewing the files and has found some errors he’s fixing that may be the cause of the random Russian strings (there shouldn’t have been any by now) amidst other stuff. If any of you are finding the bugs too annoying, consider setting the game aside for a couple of days until a new translation patch comes out.

Does anyone have a direct link to download Foxx's rebuild of Sonora (and nevada)? I would really like to try it but without installing some Russian 3rd party torrent stuff.

I've a 1.10b and a v1.11 installer here, interested?

A few months ago, I undertook a translation project for Fallout Sonora using ChatGPT and then editing the rough edges with hand. I wasn't satisfied with the existing translations of the mod. I haven't checked Fic_Mon improvements yet, but I decided to upload my version regardless. It's not in DAT format; rather, it's extracted in folders.
You still need AdolfSatan version because I only translated the dialogues. Simply overwrite his files with mine.
Fallout Sonora English ChatGPT

My third post since registering in 2019 (and lurking these forums since 2005).

Here's the thing; the github translation we have is partially yandex stuff and partially human-translated stuff handed to the github team from the guys who were translating it for a long time (and organized on Discord).
Currently, the translation is on hold (and will most likely remain unfinished).

However, I have tried both versions and I need to state - the ChatGPT version is MUCH BETTER. Garage City is absolutely crap (and that part was human translated); some cities are done better, some are worse as the files to translate were split among several people.

So far the ChatGPT version has been flawless, with much better syntax, grammar, no typos, everything makes sense and is a direct russian translation (it even translates idioms and the likes).

I strongly advise to install the github version and overwrite it with chatpgt version.
The only errors that I have noticed so far, are shit syntax in the dialogue files (seems like Jester did not fix them either, just copy/pasted what ChatGPT translated and called it a day).

For now, I am at Flagstaff and have only encountered my first error - ERROR when speaking to a mine bodyguard. Easily fixable in notepad - link to fixed file -FCMinGrd.msg.
I kind of wish the github team used chatgpt version instead of the human translated one and simply fix the syntaxes (missing brackets etc.) for what they've found and called it a day. Oh - and include that sweet Ron Perlman's intro.

There’s a new translator on the RadMurav team combing all the hand-translated files and making fixes as he goes along.
I am pretty much hands-off of the project at this point, since it’s gonna be a while before I get the amount of free time (and drive, now that I’ve played the game already) that would be needed to contribute anything of worth.
FWIW, if going full AI, at this point one might as well expect a bit more for the next leap in ChatGPT quality and run everything thru it again to get a translation as flawless as possible.

In any case, I’m just happy to see we went from having nothing to being able to choose between several versions of the translation.

So is the translation playable from start to finish?
For the most part. There are a handful of missing dialogues (either 'error' or still in Russian), most of which I posted above. I think there was one towards the end game in Dayglow that I missed.

Yeah I just finished Sonora + Dayglow using the version on rutracker with the Github translation installed on top and experienced the same thing. It was playable and while some of the translation is unnatural or imprecise, it didn't get in the way of playing the game.
Favorite translated line: "He's crazy! Like an overripe cherry!"
Second favorite: "You see a bitch"

Some thoughts on the game:

- World seemed more coherent and interesting than Nevada, and while the pacing was great at the start I think the game dragged on more than it needed to. I probably missed some things but some areas seemed underdeveloped or didn't tie together well
- Lots of uses for items to solve problems, give to people, help with skill checks, etc. Small Frame was a bad trait to take, you need to carry a lot of shit around and some of it is heavy
- Big Guns was a fun skill to tag, it took a few towns for me to find one but there was a good variety of rifles, shotguns, and heavy weapons. Weapon variety in general was very good across all areas. Small guns require less AP than big guns (3 - 4 AP vs 6 AP) and there are different viable strategies a player could take for each
- Did not enjoy the Dayglow expansion. The quests seemed very fetch-y with a lot of walking around and there was no apparent connection to the main game, so I bailed after doing a few quests and checking out all the areas. I do like how it was designed as an actual large city and the focus being on keeping immigrants away from settlers at the US-Mexico border :salute:
- Outdoor encounter rate was annoyingly high, I'd say around 2 - 3 encounters per square. I did not obtain a vehicle
- In the end I had to support my bros the Desert Rangers, who I choose to believe are the same group from Wasteland (their HQ is even near a city named Quartz). At first I tried to improve the lot of the various bandit/cannibal/slave towns you encounter, but as the game dragged on I got fed up and often decided that their degeneracy could not be fixed and just killed everyone. My ending was satisfying enough
- Up until about 2/3 of the way through the game I was thinking this was better than Resurrection (my favorite F2 mod) but it did not sustain this level of enjoyment the whole time. I'd very roughly say this is like Fallout 2 whereas Resurrection is like Fallout 1 in terms of content and focus

The crazy part is, I think those came with the incorporated hand-translated files, since I don’t recall anything so egregious from the og Yandex translation.
If anyone wants to get the Yandex version from before the latest changes (guaranteed to work without bugs because it’s what Violator and I played on all the game thru without issues), get the dropbox download instead.

Can you give me a few examples?
