The fact that Bioware's push for inclusiveness and increasingly not defining characters by their sexuality first makes for better and more well-rounded games though isn't the real reason we should be glad that they do it.

(...)
But they do.

These characters are liked because Bioware's audience wants to fuck them.

Make them unattractive (for biodrones standards) and see if they would still be liked.
Do you think Sera is attractive by biodrone standards? I find it hard to believe.

Biodrones have standarts? If they didn't run away with cry and willd look in their eyes from Tali and and this Elven chick how hideous those new wifus should look like?

I'm talking about the bull guy.

Lest we forget, in the last few years Bioware has been taken to task by Fox News for simply showing a few seconds of alien buttocks on screen, been inundated with letters about LGBT content in its games, and even had to fight its own fans over expectations and entitlement. This is not a small amount of pressure, and the path of least resistance is to crack, especially in the US where fears over sex trump those of violence any day of the week.

It's for everyone's good. Really. The more taboos are broken, the more uncharted ground explored, the more exciting the possibilities we get to see. And before anyone starts throwing around letters like SJW, there's a side for you too. Where for instance was Fox News when, say, The Witcher 2 was doing graphic sex scenes like this one? Nowhere, that's where, because that battle was done, over, and deemed boring right from the second that the world did not in fact end.
(...)
That last phrase is so unfitting for the state of the modern videogame media

BAD NEWS CODEX!!!

DA:I uses the Denuvo anti-piracy system for the PC version of the game. Which hasn't been cracked yet.

If you want to ride the bull, then you're going to have to buy the game... Or pirate the super shitty 360/PS3 version.

http://forum.bioware.com/topic/519257-denuvo-drm-used-by-dai/
No problem, by the time I get desensitized to regular porn and want some more kinky stuff like fucking autists, children and metally challenged characters, the chinese and russian crackers are going to turn Denuvo on Securom 2.0.

Dissapointed i cant pirate this, useless bioware
I really don't see the problem. By the time the patches, DLCs etc. are out, this game will be cracked.
Unless someone is counting the hours until he is able to play this shit, in which case he is a hypocrite and should buy the game instead of pirating it, as it's obvious he wants to play it and likes it.

I actually felt my own stomach trying to crawl up and out of my throat at watching Sera's video. Not only for the sheer repulsiveness of her outfit or bizarre, inhuman face (which can't even perform an emotion beyond her looking like she's constantly chewing on a wasp), but .. wow. Never before have I seen something so lacking in personality trying their hardest to pretend they have a scrap of one. It's like witnessing the combination of Anthony Burch's inclusive shlock and Rock Paper Shotgun's 'personality' piece writing, in one stagnant abomination of creature's guise that both would probably, immeasurably love - Burch for DIVERSITY, RPS because she sounds like she should be writing editorials on their site (and then also for DIVERSITY).

Why they felt the need to try and outdo Merril, I don't know.

No excuses, there are tons of games more worthy of your time.

Why isn't W2 one of them? I was considering giving it a try...

I feel like people saying this have less free time or something. Nigga, I've played Bound in Flame and fucking Risen 3. I ain't exactly culling the cream of the crop in my attempts to past time. Life is shit and then you die. Might as well play some shitty games while waiting for better ones. I always thought "lololol u bought a game that isn't good ur dum" was just people being edgy, but it's good to know some people actually believe it.

Sera sounds like someone's aging mom who's trying to be hip and cool despite having no idea what passes for cool banter these days.

It's just that the bioware reactivity is strictly shallow [...] Can you give examples where there was non-cosmetic C&C involved?

If Dragon Age: Origins C&C like the different outcomes to the Arl of Redcliffe questline is "shallow" and "cosmetic", can you give examples of games with non-shallow/cosmetic C&C?

Refer: Dragon Age: Choices & Consequences
No no no no no, that's a bad Grunker. The codex has determined that DA:O is bad and you should feel bad!

Now am I getting what?

Hopefully AIDS

Origins is given too much shit. If some of the Biowarian douchiness could be extracted from the NPC party members I think opinions would be different.

Yeah, but Biowarian douchiness is given such incredible focus by the game.

I still am wondering why Mass Effect feels so different, even in the party members. I can just turn off my brain and enjoy those games without wanting to commit sudoku, but Dragon Age's characters all feel like some weird, LSD-inspired vision of a sexually depraved apocalypse.

That's because DA's characters are characters from a teenage soap opera caught in a grimdark fantasyland, whereas Mass Effect's characters are over-the-top space opera characters caugt in an over-the-top space opera. Say what you will about the Mass Effect universe: those characters belong in it.

Also, ME2's characters are actually written fairly well.
