Wake defaults to highest difficulty (i.e., enemies with double HP) if you import from Lands.

Rightfully so, the characters and esp. equipment you get from Shattered Lands is far beyond whats normally assigned in Wake of the Ravager. I would try to keep it at max difficulty unless you have huge problems, that way its not a complete walk in the park...

Wake had more powerful artifact stuff. The drake leather armour, the Promere set, the +3 gloves, El's Drinker (easily the most powerful weapon in the game for a high level fighter-type, since you can get two of them in Lands and Wake) makes a comeback, the bottle that allows you to rest anywhere, etc.

Grab the Codex by the pussy Divinity: Original Sin Torment: Tides of Numenera Shadorwun: Hong Kong Pathfinder: Kingmaker Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture
Guess who else is loving Dark Sun right now:

https://crpgaddict.blogspot.com/2021/10/game-434-dark-sun-shattered-lands-1993.html

Ever since I began 1992--began, effectively, my "dark period"--I've been wondering when we'd hit the first game that crossed that threshold. Unless its opening hours have fooled me, Dark Sun: Shattered Lands seems to be it. This game is the complete package. There's still room for improvement, particularly in graphics and sound, but otherwise I'm not seeing anything that the Infinity Engine lacks. Again, I'm only judging it by its opening hours, but I can't see why this game isn't going to rocket to the top of the list.

Many of my commenters have praised the game, but these opening moments have been so good that I don't understand why it isn't far more famous than it is. Everything about it so far has been as good or better than the best Gold Box game, starting with the much more interesting setting, and continuing to tactical combat, interesting role-playing choices, multiple ways to solve problems, and the first regular, full-text dialogue options. If I had encountered this, rather than Baldur's Gate, in 1999, I would have been no less impressed.

I'm glad he finally got to it. I definitely found it a hidden gem, and the game's packed with plenty of notable firsts/evolutions to chronicle.

Hey guys. :) I don't think I officially mentioned it here, but I beat Shattered Lands a couple months ago! It was a wild ride, and like CRPGAddict I was hugely impressed by the game and what it offered. I am going to (not sure when, but sometime) import my winning party into Wake Of The Ravager and play through that game as well with the same group. Should be a lot of fun. :)

Anyone reading this should really install this game if they haven't played it and give it a go. It's great! If u like turn-based combat u will be in for a real treat here, as well as if you're a fan of awesome loot, cool spells and powers, exploration and TONS of roleplaying opportunities in dialogue! Enjoy! :)

Holy fuck the Magera Temple is broken. I went in guns blazing and got completely softlocked. Couldn't talk to anyone, couldn't leave the map. Some areas of this game you really get the sense that they were tripping over themselves trying to get it out the door on time.

I ultimately had to load a save and replay the area the intended way, i.e. healing the Magera and killing Balkazar. It should be noted that when you first arrive and talk to the Slave Leaders, you can ask them to fight the armies of Draj, and they'll agree if you give them 60% of the treasure. Except you can't actually do that. You can only offer them 50%. It's like SSI just ran out of time and couldn't implement all the ideas they had for this area, so you're railroaded into doing it one way.

If you import your character you get the ultra hard difficulty!

Importing characters from Shattered Lands into Wake of the Ravager might result in the difficulty initially being set to maximum level, but the player can alter the difficulty at any time (except during combat?) via the Set Preferences menu. +M

Codex Year of the Donut
Stumbled upon this by accident, looks like someone is trying to do a remake of Dark Sun 1+2 and the MMO
https://github.com/dsoageofheroes/soloscuro

He's been at it for quite a while(first commit in 2019?) Thought it might interest someone here.
A Dark Sun Engine

Goals: To create an engine for Dark Sun 1, 2, and Crimson Sands.

If any progress had been made, we'd know.

Also, there's a guy who popped in here about a year ago claiming to do just that, probably the same project, was he not doing this with NWN or NWN 2 engine?
I remember it was something that disgusting.

Started playing this again having only got 25% of the way through last time. Quite a munchkin party with two thri-kreen gladiators and two fighter-cleric-preservers. Got to the sewers after fighting quite a range of beasts in the arena, really had to use bless, curse, and disables to beat them.

If you triple class, can you get into the lv cap? In this game and wake of the ravager? I know that is more optimal but I don't like.

You can do it in Shattered Lands. Not sure about Wake of the Ravager.

Well, I believe he is planning to create an engine to port old game engines to be playable on modern decks. I am not a programmist myself, but it sounds easier than making a new, standalone engine.

About to start this. From what I've heard it sounds awesome and way up my alley. Any tips gents? What would be a good party?

I think you can actually take whatever you want and do away with it. But a classic RPG party is nothing wrong either. Multiclass at least some to have a non-dedicated thief or some of those special caster classes like Preserver or Psionics.

Other than that I'd suggest you should:

1. Take that four-armed, insect species race and make it a Gladiator or multi-class Gladiator. It's freaking awesome to look at in the action.
Not really sure--it's been a very long time since my third replay :3--but the main thing is that it is ambidextrous and strong and fast as heck.
Other than that, she should come as good Druid/Psionics too, but you'll loose a lot of pure O.o, look:

2. Use throwing weapons.
3. Enjoy the heck out of comic text bubbles with damage numbers.
