Hey bros how is the game holding up to todays standards?

I'm especially wondering how UI and controls are. I'm a millenial baby and used to mid to end 90's rpg's. Will it feel as clunky as lets say "Realms of Arkania"?
It's one of the more user-friendly early 90s RPGs when it comes to interface. Full mouse control, pretty easy to read icons.
Yes, I was also amazed when I played it, the convenience of the interface for those years. A great game, although most likely it was this game that marked the beginning of the use of a small party of 4 characters in subsequent RPGs.

Dungeon Master and its clones did that long before.
Real-time combat almost necessitated a smaller number of characters under player control, but this did not provide an excuse for a similar diminution in numbers for RPGs with turn-based combat. It seems that Dark Heart of Urkel Uukrul already had a four-character party in 1989, despite the combat being not only turn-based but tactical. There are still earlier Japanese console examples, such as the original Final Fantasy which had a four-character party in 1987.

An issue of presentation in both games, I think. Uukrul also limits the number of enemies to 6, apparently for the sake of the UI.

Yes, exactly, I completely lost sight of these games, I did not play them, real time does not attract me, so they passed by.
