I'm not getting this piece of crap (I've seen 90% of the game already anyway).

Miyazaki (a director that apparently plays in the same league with anime writers, :puke:) is the worst thing that could happen to the series. Of course I understand you're all delusional when it comes to Demon's Souls and Dark Souls, and maybe even Shameborne, so all I have for you is: enjoy your banal game.

HAIL DARK SOULS 2! HAIL TANIMURA!

All those games are shit, the true best game is Lords of the Fallen. It has an unforgettable campaign with some of the best characters in gaming, the best area variety in gaming, and a completely original combat system. Can't recommend this Doritos/10 masterpiece enough.

The game is dissected on twitch. Basically *ALL* streamers are way beyond the embargo point.

Note, some streamers ARE using JAP version, thus they. 1. never agreed to any embargo. 2. They are playing stuff in JAP and they are using hintbooks to see what each character means.

Releasing this game sooner in JAP first... This was inevitable.

Fucking idiot, there's English voice acting in Japanese versions, so they don't have to use anything in order to follow the story etc.

Fucking retards on this forum have no idea, but they bark louder than fucking chihuahua.

Tell you what, enjoy your fucking Miyazaki shit like game with literally copy pasted Anor Londo (Gwyndolin boss fight, Gwyn tomb, Gwynevere bedroom etc.) and all that copy pasted shit that makes DS3 a direct sequel instead of proper NEW game like DS2

and enjoy your broken ass PVP on Shameborne botox with i) instant healing ii) second chance from Demon's Souls if instant healing is not enough for your sorry ass iii) absolute absence of poise iv) at least twice as necessary invincibility frames etc.

I'd rather have copy pasted Anor Londo than anything else as bland as the locations from DS2.

thank for spoilers you dumbfuck.

i have no problem with getting back to Anor Lond if it makes sens story-wise and we both know you do not fight "Gwyndolin".

BTW fucking Second chance was already in DS2 , poise did not work in DS2 until like a fucking year after release and 105 Agility makes you pretty much invincible all the time. And i say that as someone who had more fun with DS2 than DS1.

Only problem is that many individual locations in 2 are superior than some of the locations from DS1.

For example, if you understand the story with the Giants and the twist Forest of Giants takes thanks to the story, and why the story is very meaningful (as opposed to "it's just a war story, with casualties and battles"), then Forest of Fallen Giants may be the most beautiful area in the entire series. Not only that, not only the whole Giants story, but the area as it is, it is quite unique and visually appealing. It consists of at least 3 different stages from artistic standpoint, and really, there's so much going on in this area, that it's easily superior than Undead Burg (even including Parish perhaps).

But I guess there's no sense in discussing such things with someone like you.

meanwhileInPoland : enjoy your Gwyndolin fight from story perspective, for real.

The whole Dark Souls II project has been seriously harmed by the rushed development. Not only is there too many areas and way too many bosses (half of 'em being totally forgettable), the torch mechanic which was supposed to be central to the gameplay ended being useful only in the pit.
Which is a real shame because some moments really scream "TORCH WAS SUPPOSED TO BE NEEDED HERE LULZ", I'm thinking of the whole pirate's cove-like area where enemies throw oil at you. It obviously doesn't make any sense with the release-state graphics of the game because you absolutely don't need the torch to see perfectly well there => so you never get burnt by these oil bombs as you were supposed to by the designers. There also are weird creatures in this area that you are supposed to frighten with the torch to avoid fighting, but since nobody used the torch, nobody understood that either and thought it was just a bunch of hp-bloated trashmobs.
The whole boss fight against the lost sinner is totally garbage because the luminosity is too high there again. You were not supposed to see her at more than a few feets away, which is why the lock didn't work when she jumped away, which again is something people complained about and didn't understand, since they didn't use the torch

My best advice is, play with GeDoSaTo on and activate the options that the game lacks to be what it's supposed to be and you'll have a better DS2 experience. This being said, there are still areas that are worthless and feel rather rushed.

My point being, DS2 is a (heavily) flawed gem.

That's actually a legit concern!

I mean, I wouldn't say that bosses and areas are forgettable, thought we can discuss this aspect, but the torch mechanics and lighting are underdeveloped for real, at least on release, because Scholar somehow fixed this issue.

I wouldn't say that DS2 is heavily flawed either, because I was expecting shit to happen since DS1 was fucked up as hell. If DS2 is heavily flawed because torches are useless then how would you call DS1: no other game has as much broken hitboxes as DS1 (when Gaping Dragon moves forward you will take damage standing behind; dogs have hitboxes literally everywhere; the same for Taurus Demon, Royal Sentinels, and many more); multiplayer connectivity is fucked up; some covenants don't have real purpose, or have never ever worked properly for anyone.

There're legit concerns towards DS2, forgettable areas and bosses are not among them (don't make me start on how bland some of the bosses in DS1 are, like 3 x Asylum Demon; Covetous Demon or Pinwheel at least stand for interesting lore).

The gifts look more balanced than before on their face, though I don't see anyone taking anything other than Sovereignless Soul and Fire Gem

Which is a real shame because some moments really scream "TORCH WAS SUPPOSED TO BE NEEDED HERE LULZ"

The fact that there's effectively a finite number of torches the entire game (it's a rare drop from a handful of torch wielding enemies so it isn't purely finite with Champions, but its close enough) was retarded. I can't imagine how frustrating that would be if you actually had to use the torch for anything. Only slightly better than DS1's situation where the chosen undead carried a lot of sticks, oil, cloth he didn't care about, and hung out around fire yet could only get light from 2 rare drops or an ancient lost spell. Why, with all the items vendors sell in unlimited quantities, is a torch the one thing that is limited?

What? You Use a torch to light the torches there, but even if not they also use fire arrows to brun you together with the oil.

There's a staircase with a dude at the top, waiting for you to come close so he can throw a oil-thing at you. If you use the torch there, you'll instantly get burnt, no need for arrows. I played this whole part with GeDoSaTo lighting, and it really doesn't feel the same at all. You should try it to see what I mean.

T'is probably the reason the lighting got revised, but my message was not about that, it was about how the whole level design still carries the marks of a radically different gameplay.
Although I sincerely doubt the limited amount of torches would have been a problem, there are a lot of torches in the world that, once lit, never fade. They were supposed to be used, and they were in every critically dark area of the game : the pirate's cove, the lost sinner level, the pit (that's pretty much it I think). But at some point they decided the torch thing shouldn't be so these levels which had a coherent level-design now feel kinda weird.

I dont get what all the fuzz is about.
What does it matter if other people have beat the game already?
You've never played an older game? People have beat those too! The thousands of walkthroughs, guides and spoilers don't mean anything if you simply avoid them.

Spoiler tags, use them
Do you remember that guy from DS3 cover? You know, the one that looks like player's character?

SPOILER:
Good, because he's the final boss of the game.

He's literally player's character from DS1. He's called "Soul of Cinder" and during this boss fight Gwyn theme plays.

For me it's a facepalm material. But as always, enjoy DS3.

Wow, buddy, you're a little frustrated. First off, you got it wrong, but congrats anyway on spoiling the ending part.

I don't really care because I already knew this, but for fuck's sake, you're a huge cunt.

I've seen all the hate towards Tanimura-san, so called "B team", and the game. I've seen over 40 minutes long "critique" videos full of misguided criticism against DS2. I'm a different person than I used to be. You're right.

HOWEVER, SPOILERS ARE NOT THE PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM IS THAT MIYAZAKI HAS RUINED THE SERIES.
