Someone mentioned that it's possible to buy potions in bulk, how do you do it?
Also does anyone have an idea where to get a tome of paganism? I'm in the mines and the chests are becoming unbearable.

So far I really like the game, even though the combat is Arcanumish.

you can't "buy in bulk" perse, but you can one click buy. look at tabs along bottom of seller inventory, hit buy, and then click on the potion to transfer it automatically without click/drag.

tome of paganism might be available from Dominicus (re-open his dialogue a few times) or the herbalist, otherwise it's essential to pick it at the chargen.

infernal magic tome dropped for me from orc shaman where you find herbalist book.

Raghar, this game doesn't seem to like balanced builds. SPE and INT and CON have been working well for my mage, but I might start balancing out STR and DEX up to 20 each just for the sake of it. the core stats seem to be most important though.

Enjoying the game so far as a Paladin on hard, but I'm going to restart now that I've pretty decent handle on the system.

I won't throw points into shields since I'm almost exclusively using 2 handed weapons, identity is also wasted points (6th sense does it better), divine strike (I think?) seems a bit crap (maybe it's better at high levels?).

Sturdiness and the element resist skills seem a bit crap as well, but considering the nuclear barrages Mrowak described maybe the element resist skill works well with resist gear.

Double post, sorry.

You know, it seems RPGCodex and Gog are the only places talking in detail about Inquisitor on their forums. Either the mainstream (quotation marks) has missed out entirely, or it's not a huge launch in english.

We should probably find someone to write a review, if I were closer to finishing I'd volunteer, as I'd be quite tempted to prepare a review of it. Would need to go back and make some notes/take screens though.

Otherwise, sea will you be doing a gamasutra review?

Where do i "turn in" Natalia? There's nobody named Stefan in town.

Natalia? Is that the merchant's daughter?

There's a merchant in the top room of the inn in act 1, who is missing a daughter.

Stefan Reichmann (sp)? Otherwise, try the sheriff, the guy chilling in Aberghast (sp) Adelfirth, Edelweiss? Whatever the town next to the Iron Mines is, the dude in the hut. Olfred the Unheady (if you complete the Q evilly).

I think all the would-be reviewers are too busy playing the game to write reviews. The guys who had pre-release access will probably start posting their reviews soon...?

WHY WON'T THE PEOPLE I TORTURE SPILL THE BEANS! WHO ARE YOUR ACCOMPLICIES!?!? WHERE ARE THE BODIES?!? DO THESE PANTS MAKE MY BUTT LOOK BIG?!? NO! Instead they'll give you only one piece of evidence. The plot unfolds... slowly.

Act 2 has a couple of dungeons that put the orc dungeon to shame. Well, at least one of them does.

Anyway, looks like I'm kinda stuck on a number of quests now, oddly, despite having searched everywhere I can think of.
I've cleaned the sewers and gotten the diary of the soldier, which was enough to get him in jail. However, he pleads innocent and I'm not getting an option to go to court/execute him and thus solving the case and getting a promotion. I'm assuming I'm lacking some kind of evidence.

I've enough evidence to arrest the grand duke, but it's basically the same thing there too. Granted, I'm assuming he's innocent and it's actually the wife, but on her I only have one piece of evidence which apparently isn't enough to arrest her.

Then there's that other noble guy who lives in the western part of the city, in a small house. I've one piece of evidence on him, which again isn't enough to have him arrested.

Then there's that 'back from the dead' heretic guy who killed five paladins and wants to kill the executioner; no conversation topics or anything to go with there, so I've no idea how I'm supposed to kill him.

And finally, the possessed chick. I have everything Federick's journal mentions with the exception of the Mandrake root, which I've no idea where to get.

Oh, and there's that one guy I can't find, the one everyone thinks have stolen that necklace thingy.

I've finished all the others quests, but I've no idea how I managed to get stuck on this many quests at the same time. I've wasted hours checking people for new conversation options and searching for missed stuff in the areas I've been through, but no luck. Getting kinda frustrating.
In the case of soldier Harke there doesn't seem to be any more evidance you can get, but the journal and his acquired wealth point him to be the one to blame. The actor also saw him with undead. Burn him.

For the second noble guy you need to free the kid from the bottom Devil Pits. That will allow the servant to tell you about him.
The mandrake root I'm not entirely where I found.

The heretic guy is down in the catacombs in the graveyard. Go and try and kill him, he'll be immortal, go and talk to the herbalist about him.

The guy you can't find is in the upper east corner of the wasteland.

Well, Just been playing it for something around 3 or 4 hours and I have very mixed feeling about it. Combat is fucking abmysal, did someone actually tested it before release? waiting 30 second after every battle to regenerate stamina? seriously?. Another problem is that it fucking crashes all the time, maybe something is wrong with my rig but it already crashed 4 times for fucks sake.

On the other hand there's alot of dialogues, graphics are pretty and setting is great so I'm going to give this shit some more time to stop sucking.

Save for the last one, these are quite legitimate questions. The whole plot could have progressed much faster in a much more believeable way if torturing people actually amounted to something. As it is all heretics (who are predominantly hedonists) are immune to pain for some reason so they won't tell you anything about their accomplices, and won't answer the really important questions ("Who helped you? Where did you get this knowledge? Who taught you magic? Where are the forbidden grimoirs? Where did you get the money from?", etc. Because then we could have compiled the list of all heretics once we arrested the first one). Let's make a game about inquisitor who tortures people, except let's make torturing people meaningless. Definitely good idea.

Well, I am going to write the review - I already talked about it with Crooked Bee.

I'm getting the impression that we're just really, really, really bored. So bored that we're willing to tolerate terrible combat in a combat-centric RPG all in the name of playing something new.
I'm not biting. I rather browse some more.

Can't say this for me. I have a lot of other rpgs and strategy games to play with not much time on my own. And still, I'm enjoying this game so far (on easy).

I guess if you are a "storyfag only", the combat will be too much of a burden to you. Otherwise the combat is better than e.g. Arcanum. For me it's just slightly worse than Diablo because of insane potion chugging and some balancing issues where things get out of line (instakills, offensive magic spells are useless up till now).

The storyfagginess in this one is totally wasted here. Good storyfaggy game focuses on what it does best and tells the story through the gameplay. Storyfagginess does happen here, except that here it constitutes 30% of the gameplay. The rest is imbalanced, pointless, and boring combat - which is strange considering how practically all the stats are combat oriented. A good storyfagy game should not have you go through trash just so you can go from point A to point B - instead it ought to have gameplay constructed around what it does best.

It seems to me a lot of effort was put in this game... but sometimes effort alone is not enough. You've got to have the general idea of what makes a game thoroughly enjoyable experience - and when you have it build upon that as opposed to something that cannot be under any circumstances considered "fun". It seems to me the devs lacked exactly that idea.

So i finally got my thievery high enough to open the chest inside duke's house, as i looted it, a guard popped out of nowhere to stop me (chests have built-in alarms?). What the hell, this is dumb.

By the way, the chest inside the other noble's house contains a yellow shield, stats are randomized the moment you unlock the chest and as long as the npc isn't in line of sight when the guard stops you, it won't aggro, so you can just kill the guard.

Also, spear damage seems to scale with dex and for some reason they deal more damage than bows, that's the way to go if you want to melee with your thief.

Are you sure? Strength should provide damage increases and Dex should only affect how often/successful you attack.

Seems so, for example i have a sword and a spear that deal more or less the same damage, sword hits for around 15-20, spear 60-120, my character has very low str and melee skill but high dex and ranged skill.

Does anyone know how to open the hidden chest at the tree of death?

Where's that?

There's a rock at the tree of death, just to the left of it, hover cursor to find it that can be opened. But shatter won't work, and i can't attack it. I invoked the spirits from the tree, killed them, but they dropped nothing that works.

dex provides ranged damage increase, btw.
