Some time ago I was making afterburner/plasma/laser/etc effect for my space sim game.
Somehow, a game appeared out of it, about controlling particles. It's called "Paint it Red 2".

It's not RPG, but I think it's quite :obviously:
Oh, and "2" in the name is (also unintended) troll. There is no "Paint it Red 1"

A small screenshot from my interactive fiction game. Needed to rest from banging the math against the wall.

Made Unity bake proper shadows. Now I don't have to downscale stuff to look fine with that shitty 1024x1024 atlas.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
shihonage, I like the pace of the trailer, and the music, but I find the perspective used for the main guy confusing : it made me think it it was a platformer with an incomplete guy in the first few seconds. Why not use top down perspective for the main guy too?

"Incomplete guy"?

In what top-down perspective world are all the words facing the sky?

The truth is, it's neither a side- nor top-down perspective. It's a game with levels.

The incomplete guy comment was because of the low resolution of the trailer that makes the guy feet very hard to distinguish on my computer.

Played around with the textures and colors, and implemented walls hiding blocked parts of the maze. I sharpened the player sprite a bit, the video makes it very fuzzy-looking still unfortunately.

I bailed on further developing this app but it let you define targets dynamically and track them based off the camera stream.

This is a short clip of a demo I made at work, I made several cards and if you put them close together the characters fight:

Oh and over the weekend I was dicking around with the asus xtion pro sensor (kinect knockoff) for modeling/texturing and motion capture:

And some cool depth masking to make 3d holes in things, like portal.

Graphics and level layout are placeholders, but core game mechanics are in place. Now I gotta find some 3d and texture artists to help me finish this. Also, some tweaking and balancing might be in order.

Fucking video converters, how do they work? It looked fine in-game and in the raw video I got from FRAPS. After conversion it turned way too dark. Tweaking gamma didn't help that much and made the lighting look like shit. Any hints from more experienced bros?

Turns out it's better to let YouTube convert the videos itself. I've uploaded 2.2 GB raw video and they managed to maintain pretty good quality.

Well, yeah, if you can afford to upload such huge files, since YouTube reencodes it either way whether it's already compressed or not. But if you can't, x264 is a good encoder. I use it with MeGUI frontend and Very Slow preset and I'm happy with the results.
