For a 1h str melee character/hunter who plans to apprentice with the blacksmith and buy alchemy mastery; is Araxos or the guard more fulfilling?

I’ll probably save before making the decision and end up trying both but I’m curious if there’s a consensus.

They both have a melee/ranged path. For the merchants guild you can become a swordsman or a tracker. I believe guards also have a similar path.

Both have pretty comparable vendors and armours, so more a case of pick the one you prefer the "feel" of.

I didnt find any new blueprints in my inventory or in his trade window.

I just checked CoM discord and apparently it only appears in 3rd chapter which is kinda weird or maybe its a bug.

I can't find him at Rita's Vineyard or the Swamp which seem like the most obvious places.

Guard is pretty much better than araxos across the board, quest-wise.

The only Araxos quest I actually enjoyed was a minor one where you have to convince a fisherman to fix a net for you by telling him a story, except because he's a crotchety old fisherman it only works if you tell him the most boring and uninteresting story possible. That was funny.

They are in the swamp but it is a bit difficult to find them. Instead of going to the cave on the left that you go first time when you go to pirates, go straight into the swamp along the path that curves, if you stick to the path you should find them. You can also go near the orc camp on the south side of the swamp and follow the west path from there, then you should find them.

No, there are no Orcs on Archolos. What you killed must have been a Frogman and a Wolf, they are kind of easy to mistake for one another.
