Figured I'd try the romances.

Lae'zel is like, come on take me you brute, your raw strength drives me crazy.

Meanwhile I'm a tiny ass gnome half her size.

A tiny ass gnome called, "Rape Machine". They should've had mandatory lines like, "I may be short, but I'm big where it counts!" etc.

Surprised people are still talking about this game here. I figured most of you would be playing Dragon Age Troonsguard. They both serve the same audience. Or did you people need to pay for your transition out of pocket instead of tax payer funded and cant afford the new trannie game?
That's not true. I imagine it's hard for F4 fan to appreciate that but there's actual RPG in BG3 there under all the woke bullshit. DAV on the other hand apparently has nothing to offer at all in comparison.

Once in a while I visit this thread. Last page only. If it not the bear stuff, its something else. Pick any random page in this thread and its the same thing.

I could've dropped that in F4 thread instead but whatever. Everyone sees what they want to see.

Who writes this shit.

:bunkertime:
I'm currently doing a non-Durge Tav playthrough as a Duergar Priest of Laduguer and trying out the Lae'zel romance as well.

Most of the [Evil God] options are pretty men, but I like the Lae'zel romance. It's camp, but it's fun and the Klingon/Whedon dialog fits the tone of the game better than trying to be serious in a Belgian underwear theft simulator.

I played it near release and was never sure if the romancing in the game was bugged or Larian was taking the piss. Trying to avoid romance and every character tries to nail your ass, some multiple times. The squid man coming on to you was parody level, it's all very cringe, bad and immersion breaking, I don't see how it could be taken seriously.

Then there is the games popularity, does everyone see it as a joke? or do they genuinely like this content and think it's great? I can only imagine the cope and frustration Sawyer must have had playing this thing through, you spend all this time making up fantasy history, religious deities and flavour text and this game smashes all your efforts with bear and troll fucking.

Larian said the characters being ultra horny was a "bug", but I think that they just took early access' experiences in account and made it easy to enter the romances so the dumber players wouldn't miss them, but they made it too easy and made it look like everyone's mega horny. Predictably, once they made it harder, I started seeing posts from people lamenting they missed the window to initiate the romances.

I think its great. Sure, there's a solid amount of cringe - like the [secret identity] squid man or Karlach, Gale is also borderline cringe. Plus the patchwork story kinda falls apart in Act 3 - and there's a lot of cut content (they did Gortash dirty, entire district is missing). Some cameos are cringe paper cutouts too (like Viconia).

Still, its a game with fantastic world and area design, verticality, alternative routes, alternative quest resolutions, tons of reactivity, great combat and encounter design, neat graphics. Plus its fucking huge. And based on a solid RPG system.
There are very few games that can rival it in fact.

All true except for combat which gay asf. I should not be blazing through the game on max difficulty doing a first run with a glass cannon no-heals party.

Like even the special boss moves from Honor ruleset aren't usually big deal, just /examine and there's always a counter.

Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is.
Just under 100 in, just finished Act 2.

Yeah, game's great. Probably the best isometric RPG I've ever played, including all the greats from the 90s. Combat grew on me, although Larian's own D:OS combat is still more fun and better balanced. As people already pointed out, even Tactician is easy mid-way through. I've never been a DnD fan and it seems I'm not about to become one.

The amount of CC is crazy tho. Never seen anything like it. Just lost Halsin for good, because I wasn't using him in Act2 (IIRC he didn't even want to join me at the start) and now apparently I haven't done his quest so he ditched me. And I wanted to start using him in Act3. Oh well. Also I detonated my Gale after we met the Three Baddies for the first time and got the end credits in Act 2. Lulz. Love that shit. Also both me and my beau Shadowheart transformed into partial Illithids and now we both look like we haven't slept for years. Can't wait for the sex scene.

I guess supreme offence trumps any defences with alpha strikes that neuter the enemies - like is usually the case in most crpgs...

What has more choice and reactivity? Arcanum or BG3? Deciding on what to play (haven't played Arcanum in like 15 years).
as much as I like BG3, id probably play arcanum. ALTHOUGH I havent played arcanum since it came out and all I remember is the bank robbery and I wore a hat

Can't say, really. There's certainly an impressive amount of those in BG3. If you haven't played it at all, it will certainly feel a lot more... fresh.

Also the encounter design and combat is lightyears ahead of Arcanum.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Has Sold Two Copies in Vatican City, the World’s Smallest Country With 764 Residents

https://mp1st.com/news/baldurs-gate...he-worlds-smallest-country-with-764-residents

"Michael Douse, Larian's publishing director, shared on X/Twitter that Baldur's Gate 3 has even made its way into a place as unexpected as Vatican City. With just 764 residents across 0.44 square kilometers, this tiny nation in the heart of Rome is the smallest country in the world."

I typically try a no-heals party at some point because I just dislike healing as a mechanic, but it's usually tricky to do. Here I started with Priest, Wizard, Rogue and Bard, but eventually swapped Shadowheart with Karlach and stuff only became smoother.

Anyhoo, cleaned up mausoleum and it's off to Moonrise. Mausoleum is great, already tempted to do a 2nd run and try and cross Rafael this time. CC in this game is amazing.

The real headline should have been Vatican City exposed as filthy pirates, with only two copies sold
