Anyhoo, wrapped up Act 2 and I can already see why people aren't that happy with act 3. It's a really jarring vibe shit to go from underdark with strange crypts, creepy castles and weird glowing mushrooms to sunlit villages. I hope the content is better than the visuals, but it just feel so bland, man.

Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is.

Well it's a city environment, same shit people thought when they transitioned from White Orchard and Velen to Novigrad in TW3.

For a 100 hours I've been hearing we're going to Baldur's Gate next so I mentally prepared, switched a few toggles in my brain and I'm having fun in the city.

But yeah, so far Act 2 is by far my favourite.

Act 3 was perhaps the most woke and cringe thing in the industry until Veilguard released. So yeah enjoy....

Act 3 has some of the best moments in the game(house of hope, cazador's palace and bhaalist quests), but pacing is all over the place and they obviously rushed it - they certainly planned to include upper city, which explains Gortash's coronation happening in a fucking prison and entrance to cazador's palace being some illogical and seemingly interdimensional portal acessed via lower city.

Also there is the matter of progression. You reach level 12 early act 3 if you are a completionist and probably will have best gear available by then as well.

I tried the level 12-20 mod but besides being incomplete and missing most higher level class features, it absolutely breaks the game balance. There is no difficulty mod on consoles yet.

I'm doing a playthrough with a shadowmonk/shadow blade/tadpole powers build and it is being a lot of fun.

The roleplay itself improves greatly versus "resisting" the tadpole. I missed a lot of interactions on past playthroughs, specially regarding using the tadpole to read minds and influence companions and cultists.

Also took "telepathic" feat(from a mod off course) and I am pleasantly surprised by the sheer amount of "detect thoughts" interactions. Seems nearly as frequently avaliable as the charisma skills and opened some cool dialog options for my psychic monk.

Damn, I messed up the Zaith'isk / Githyanki device completely it seems. I knew it's important, did a hard save before etc., but wasn't aware that consequences can be so significant. It seems I completely missed the biggest perk:

'awakened' - getting Illithid powers available as a bonus action

But not only that, I managed to NOT get the bonus but got the negative consequence with Lae'zel:

permanent -2 to 3 CON, WIS, INT

That sucks, but at the same time incline for having a serious C&C like that.

Yeah I'm halfway to 11 and didn't even reach the main city yet and I've definietely missed a lot of shit in previous acts. The xp from random ass mobs in act 3 is way too high.

I thought Cazador's palace was such a disappointing flop. The whole thing reminded me of someone's first try at making a dungeon with the editor.

When does that happens?

Act 2 in the gith creche
That'd still be Act 1. Some call it 1.5 though.

You are right, that "you are leaving this region, make sure all quests are complete here!" or something message fooled a lot of people into not doing underdark and mountain pass together(game made it seem like you had to pick one or the other).

It felt very separate from grove/goblins/swamp/risen road area, as did the underdark.

Doesn't the big nose lady turn into a mind-flyer and then the fey prostitute rants about being made horny by the tentacles or something?

Yes chapter 3 goes all out on the paraphilias. Thankfully most of it can be avoided.

And amazingly, that's how the game still presents, they haven't changed that. Although maybe it's not so odd: maybe they're confident enough in that they've presented enough multiple paths that they'd rather the average player discovered the alternatives on anothe playthrough. (Another huge example is how you handle the big incident at the last light inn.)

Baldur’s Gate 3 Has Sold Two Copies in Vatican City, the World’s Smallest Country With 764 Residents

https://mp1st.com/news/baldurs-gate...he-worlds-smallest-country-with-764-residents

"Michael Douse, Larian's publishing director, shared on X/Twitter that Baldur's Gate 3 has even made its way into a place as unexpected as Vatican City. With just 764 residents across 0.44 square kilometers, this tiny nation in the heart of Rome is the smallest country in the world."
The real headline should have been Vatican City exposed as filthy pirates, with only two copies sold
Really?
I thought Vatican clerics would be more into jrpgs...

Man, the city is just grinding down my will to play, act 3 is painfully boring. Massive amounts of content but it's bland as fuck. I'll probably push through to ending, but if I do another run I'll just pretend that Ketheric is a final boss and stop there.

I've still yet to finish Act III. I'm debating saying fuck it and just going to the upper city.
