If I had to praise something about the game, I like the Icon style, I don't like the UI in general(inventory UI seems better than gameplay one though), but the icons are somewhat pleasing

They can blow a gazillion dollars on crappy VA and make their characters huge homosexuals spewing libtard bullshit but they cannot even try to replicate an artistic approach to the paperdoll or portraits. It's even worse than NWN made by a bunch of Bioware interns in 2002. At least NWN had milky mommy NPC portraits. And perhaps more importantly to the less virile players out there they cannot even attempt to invent a less save-scummy approach to bullshit dice-rolling. I hope everybody who plays and enjoys this develops AIDS and pass on so that future generations can be more critical and appreciative of the finer points of RPGs.

Btw, everyone is talking about only the "evil" companions being available now. I'd say we are looking at all the companions the end product is going to have.
Considering they outright said they'd add more companions at various points during early access I very much doubt this. Mind you the game still is completely unfinished and I am very sceptical if it even will be released at all 2021.

I imagine there'll end up being one companion for each of the PHB's 12 classes. IIRC at some point in one of the various pre-release Q&As they said something along the lines of "each writer is writing a companion" but I have no idea how many writers they actually have hired or if the writers also are doing multiple companions.

Frankly if only these would be companions, I'd be happy, at least they are somewhat different from normal average pub people.

Aren't the companions going to have their own stories they fulfill during the adventure? Like in D:OS2? 12 companions seems like a lot in that context. And afaik, they have 7 writers. I have called them the 7-man cuck-squad before and they even acknowledged that (and were very proud of the name) on Twitter.

I assume all companions will have their own quest lines, yes. I don't think 12 seems like that far-fetched a number though I guess it is possible that there might only be around 8. Either way my point is I heavily doubt that the 5 companions currently available will be the only ones in the final release.

A level 4 spider with 138(!) hp because they want to force you to use ~environmental effects~ to beat it. Fuck you Swen, this isn't D&D.
I don't know what they mean by "level", but if it's the monster's challenge rating, those HP are not far off the norm. A CR 4 creature should have around 120 HP (less if it deals high amount of damage).

138 HP is already CR5, which is cut off in your jpg. The Phase Spider Matriarch alone would be very challenging for this level 3 party, but there are a few CR1/8 spiders in the encounter as well.

Info: Each point of CR means that a creature should be a challenging encounter for a party of four to the corresponding level, e.g. a single CR1 creature is a medium encounter for four level 1 characters.

Near the end of Underdark, there's a dwarf camp with a level 5 guy (you are probably level 3-4 at that point) who resurrects several corpses on the first turn. Definitely a stronger encounter than you should be doing at this point.
But! You can make a deal with a mushroom dude who is also a necromancer, and you can also bring several resurrected gnomes and such into the fight. So most of the very hard fights have some mechanic to equalize them, and its not always terrain.

Just a quick tip, be careful where you stand there. The dwarves LOVE pushing you into instant death, which if done on the player character also teleports ANOTHER character to camp to do the resurrection, its both very annoying and very immersion breaking. And the dwarves themselves are very hard to push, and very hard to resist their push. And I've now tested it, Confused and Charmed simply do nothing, they don't work currently on enemies. They work on you though.

Overview

>he let himself get branded like an animal just so he can wear the goblin gloves
You got bamboozle trixxxed, cleric.

I think that because I was a wood elf I couldn't properly join the goblins, since I resisted the potion that the priestess gave me and they became aggressive.

Those weren't the gloves. Bought the magical gloves at the trader.
