So I got the mechanical eye, and had the doctor in the slums install it. He says it's not "powered," though. I bought the small power tube from the curio trader. Do I need to use that somehow? Or do I need to go to a specific place?

It powers up on its own when near something that it can interact with

Is it possible to totally avoid combat as a thief?
Yes.
However I would advise you to put a few points into dexterity as it's checked at least once for a combat avoidance check.(it's during an optional part of the questline later on but still)

The Thief Guild questline is really fun and interesting from a story perspective but I personally think it's actually the worst designed one when it comes to skill checks and stuff.

dat ambush in the TG quest
When I thought I was good to avoid combat with having the ring and the forged paper, a crit strike check appears out of fucking nowhere.

I went to Al Akia with Meru expedition. Aurelian fighters came to stop the expedition but I persuaded them to leave. on that map only the prospectors remain but when i try to go down the ruins they say I am forbidden?
why is that?

after travelling out of the zone, Al Akia does not appear on the world map

What are the stats for the
god ending?

You can definitely do it with perception at 8, con at 7, intelligence at 8.
It might be possible at lower stats but those ones definitely work.

You *need* Con 7, int 7 and per 8. Plus a good amount of dialogue skills as far as I can tell. And a path through the game that lets you go to to
Al Akia

So that surgical kit from the Library of Saross is not really needed, right? The veterenary in the slums can implant the eye without it. Or is there a different purpose for the surgical kit?

Also, where do you find the respirator for the Abyss?

Loremasters can get it early from the extra merchant in the inn. But you need Feng to tell you what really it is and how to use it.(probably the mad man in tower can tell it too) You need to power it up with 1 small tube.
I think you can get it from entrance of abyss too, some old dude tried to sell me another "shiny" but there weren't any options for me to buy it.

It's needed for something, yes.

The loremaster in the tower of the merchant quarter can tell you what it is, you can find a second one in the well in the slums, I think it's behind the [Dex]+[Con] ≥12 check.

How do you get to Al Akia after talking to the dudes at the arch? I got the coordinates, but now I still can't seem to do anything to actually go there. I tried talking to a bunch of people (the cartographer guy, Meru, Gaelius, the Zamedi demon, Abukar), but I can't even mention the coordinates to them. I even bought the astrolabe to see if that would do anything. Am I just locked out of there because I'm not with the right faction?

I think you have to be Imperial Guard or Praetor to go there. Not sure but
Only two ways I know of getting there is being IG or telling Meru "I'm ready to serve the gods", which I've only ever seen as an option as a praetor.

What the hell is the point of the arch then? Why even have the INT check to decipher the coordinates if they're useless?

I know one other surefire way to get to Al-Akia that is not background-dependent.

Activate the thing at the bottom of the abyss. Although unfortunately you can only go to the abyss in the "Maadoran chapter"
.

Can't get back into the abyss after the Maadoran chapter

You'll understand why they had to do it like that if you activate the thing at the bottom

Any tips on the Harran Pass fight with the Ordu? 10/8/8/6/4/4, sword 10, block 7.
