How does the hero talent tree feel? As far as I can tell, it looks like just picking the one that goes with your spec (or gimping yourself). Is that right or does it actually do something interesting?
Hit or miss.

Deathbringer Blood DK is great, whereas San’layn Blood is trash. Deathbringer grants Reaper’s Mark, which explodes up 40 stacks or 20 seconds on a target. Upon explosion, Reaper’s Mark empowers Marrowrend to shoot out scythes and reduces its rune cost. Marrowrend is otherwise typically a bone shield generator with an hefty cost of 2 runes, and so the less runes spent on Marrowrend means runes available for other abilities.

Empowered Marrowrend also has a 30% chance to apply a new Reaper’s Marks. What that means is if you are diligent about Reaper’s Mark, you can have several rolling at a given time, save on runes, and truck a pack. Combine this damage with Voracious (12% leech after death strike) and other sources of leach, and you have a steady source of self-healing. I should add that to pop Reaper’s Mark asap, you need to keep the target in Death and Decay and actively use blood boil, Reaper Strike, etc.

Also, in the Deathbringer tree is a talent called Wither Away, where Blood Plague deals full damage in half the duration. This is amazing because of Umbillcus Eternus, which gives a shield for 5x the damage done by blood plague during the duration of Vampiric Blood. I can obtain a 10-15 million absorption shield by combining Dancing Rune Weapon (triple blood plague on all targets) + Vampiric Blood + Blood Boil + Consumption (30% dmg buff to Blood Plague) + rapid decomposition (talent that boosts BP by 15%).

Deathbringer rewards proper play of Blood Dk, whereas Blood San'layn is degenerate.

Another example of a cool hero tree is Hellcaller Warlock. Hellcaller gives a Saytr/shadow form during a cooldown. I think rogues were the only class with all around bad hero trees.

Questline ends with Anduin sitting down on a rock pouting for the Nth time.
The quest wasn’t great for the most part, but I took the finale as an end to the Anduin mope phase. I thought Blizzard was going to drag it out for another patch or two.

Although I would think resurrecting the dead (or near dead) would make him a kill-on-sight target for many factions. While we resurrect the dead all the time in-game or villains return, true resurrection doesn’t seem common in this actual story/setting.

The character is absolutely retarded. Suest of them all. I barely pay attention to the story and she's already very annoying.
I also don't really like female soldiers in the first place beyond some well written rare exceptions. A civilised society views it as barbaric to send women, children and the elderly to the front lines so it's really strange to see it glorified even in fiction.

I was willing to make concessions due to it being a fantasy setting but they went and changed the amount of guards - who were overwhelmingly men - and started replacing them with women. It just looks bad. I have fond memories of entering Silvermoon through a portal and then seeing a bunch of cool looking Blood Elf soldiers lined up in formation outside. Every since they were made more diverse it doesn't look nearly as inspiring.

Aesthetics and consistency are important and I genuinely feel disgusted looking at characters like Faerin. They know what they're doing by designing characters that way, I suppose.

Ironically, everyone was fine with night elf society having female warriors and male mages. The issue is with the real-world politics.

Also, if blizzard gets it their way, give it five or ten more years. Anduin will bang the culturally enriched Lothar and marry. Stormwind will become an epicenter of multiculturalism. A new player will wander the cobbled streets of a once great city, only to see half-orcs, trolls, elves etc etc.

Wow should've stayed at wotlk.

I think it ultimately worked because the men weren't portrayed as weaker or smaller than the women. Who in turn were conventionally attractive as opposed to the ugly manwomen now churned out by every other game.

At this point so much of the setting has been gutted in terms of tone, aesthetics and 'rule of cool' that I mostly get enjoyment out of the PvP and raiding elements. Even then it's largely due to the dire state of the competitors. I really like TESO for the housing but the actual combat is a joke so I can never stick with it or convince friends to play it, let alone stick with it long enough to gear up for end game content. FFXIV went completely off the rails so that's out too.

I'm cautiously optimistic about Ashes of Creation and Pantheon. Though both are far off for now.

Almost done with Siesbarg mount farm, I'm NOT going insane...

Yeah. I spent four hours camping the rare (another guy had been waiting 6 hours). I finished the 1500 chitin farm yesterday, I am not at 600/1000 on the Venom farm, just need 400 more venom and then just need to get the 500 blood and then I will never set foot in City of Threads again.

I salute you. I am still at 500 or so chitin, and ...damn. I alternated between the follower dungeon on City of Threads and soloing up to the second boss on heroic City of Threads to mix it up.

There is an opportunity right now to make an ingame profit here buying tokens low and selling high. Right now, a new expansion has released, and people are gearing up in preparation for the new raid which will unlock in 3 days. Crafting professions are ruinously expensive, costing at least 500k gold to train up. So people have been selling tokens to buy gold so they can buy gear or to train their crafting professions.

It costs $20 to buy a Token through the ingame shop. When you right click a WoW token, it can be redeemed for $15 Bnet balance or 30 days game time. You cannot sell the same token you bought. So there is an enormous 25% cut that usually makes buying low/selling high unprofitable, but in this case the cost difference is so large that you will almost certainly be able to turn a profit. Once it goes back up to over 300k in a few months, you will make a profit selling tokens then. The big question is whether or not it will reach the historic 400k peak from the month before patch 10.2 released. If you sell then, you will make a 100k/50% profit.

I am not sure if it is safe to keep waiting and hope the token goes down any lower. Historically, the token price goes down lower when mythic raiding and M+ starts, but this expansion we had heroic dungeons available before, and the heroic dungeons give you good enough gear to start the normal raid or to do M+. When the season starts, I think a lot of people will say "my heroic dungeon gear is good enough" and won't buy as much gear. You rapidly get gear from doing M+, which will began on September 17th.

I've always found the emergence of real market trends in game economies moderately fascinating. However, this is my dumb question:

It costs $20 to buy a Token through the ingame shop. When you right click a WoW token, it can be redeemed for $15 Bnet balance or 30 days game time. You cannot sell the same token you bought.

Ok, so... how does the token to gold conversion work then? Like how are they introduced to the game's economy if you can't sell the tokens you buy (presumably from Blizzard, rather than other players)?

Selling tokens is done through the ingame Blizzard shop interface.

Buying tokens is done through the auction house.

There's a "minor" caveat there. You give money to blizzard and there's no "legal" way to get it out. You can only spend it on their products.

$15 Battle.net balance, if you can actually cash out for that, isn't a terrible deal... or at least not as terrible, given that you could at least use it on other games since they started putting Activision crap on there too. (not sure how much better this is)

It might be even better later on if they continue this practice but it gets rolled into the overall XBox store since that has all the Microsoft crap on it as well as other third party things.

Good luck with season 1, gentlemen. May the weekly vault ever be in your favor.

First thing I plan to do is reach tier 8 delves. Then, maybe mythic 0 spam.

I was able to solo the Tier 8 Waterworks as Fury Warrior....until I hit the boss, he does too much damage :negative:

really just go with a group with those Bountiful delves, no reason to take a chance

Ah yes, time to torture myself with LFR. Finished all the storylines in the zones at least, I did enjoy the final one I did the buddy cop quest with the Peacekeeper and Lamplighter.

I joined a PUG and did the underwater Rak delve over and over until I unlocked tier 8, and then went and did the bountiful delve to get an ilevel 603 necklace. The content is not hard. Don't overpull, rotate your defensives, use your stuns and interrupts on the problem mobs, etc. But for whatever reason, people were getting antsy, thinking you needed to be overgeared, or expecting other people to have all of these mechanics memorized even though it is the first day of the season.

I did the Aggregation of Horrors world boss. It is modeled after a GW2 styled meta event where you have to escort the three Goblin shredders up their lanes to the world boss, though unlike a GW2 event, the distances are so short that there is no challenge. In a GW2 event, you have to have people staying put in each lane, but here the shredders are just 100 feet away, meaning you can mount up on your dragonriding mount and get there in 3 seconds. So there is just a zerg bouncing to whichever shredder is being attacked by mobs. The world boss' design himself reminds me of Shadow Behemoth. The boss was also bugged and did not give loot when killing him in a raid group, so I had to kill him again without a group to get credit.

This is perennial problem in WoW. Lazy ass people expecting a carry I guess.
