Starting tomorrow is when you can make enough gold over a few weeks to pay for the next expansion.
or you could just go work at mcdonalds for a few hours idk seems more enjoyable tbh

Holy shit. Who the fuck though this was a good idea? Passive aggressive temper tantrums over some random tweets as advertisements for your game.

When I saw people posting that on 4chan I though it was fake.

Their isn't anyone in this forum actually playing this garbage right? Your just getting info second hand from friends right?

I don't know why, but the ads give me the same vibe that I got from the Star Citizen interview by that one furry.

My friends keep telling me to buy this. Is it worth it codexbros?

You will beat the questlines over the weekend and then there is nothing to do except to raid. If you don't like raiding then it comes down to whether or not you think a weekend of MMO questing is worth dropping $50 and $15 of sub time to play, versus dropping money on other games.

Retail was good a decade ago. Nowadays if you want to play good WoW, you either play Classic or on a private server set at an earlier time.

Depends what you're looking for. If you want a single player campaign with a little MMO on the side, try FFXIV. If you have played WoW at any point in your life you're better off with your memories. The only thing they added is the flying since the moment you come to the island. They decided to do the sandbox, freeroam approach, give you a mount that has limited airborne capabilities (basically it's a glider, you can press a button to do a big flap and you recharge energy by nosediving and using the momentum to lift yourself) and kinda give you a story. Blizz wanted to sell you a free roaming map with little pockets of quests here and there. The problem is that, besides the little pockets of quests (exp and gold, nothing else) there is no point in flying.

Don't get me wrong, the map feels like it was made with some though put into it: from the videos you'll see that the roads are very sparce, few and far in between so the game urges you to get on your dragon and fly everywhere.

Are secrets worth it? nope. Wow is not a single player game that rewards exporation. WoW is still beholden to buff/nerf cycle so your fresh lvl 60 can't just take their dragon, start looking for secrets and get their purple gear on.

In the end, the game is a 2 step process: get to max level, get your gear. Regardless of what you do, with WoW you know what you're getting. Dragons are just a fresh coat of paint, the endgame will always be getting that gear.

Flying was in retrospect my least favorite addition that came with BC. The first impression was great, seeing the whole zone and being able to easily travers over it felt amazing, but over time this faded and I find it way more immersive and fun to go with ground mounts . Even better when you have all your friends galloping towards the raid entrance.
To have a whole expansion centered around this gimmick (that is not even original, considering it feels like they ripped the concept from GW2) doesn't do anything to me. And than the other selling point is the scalie-bait race. I'm good, Bobby.

It's what I usually do when my itch for WoW comes as well. Though I usually just roll a HC character and see how far I can get. By the time I die I'm usually done with WoW and I can move on.

What is this? Sounds more specific than "random private server".

When it comes to WoW private servers, my recommendation would be Ascension's free pick server, Area 52. You can mix and match abilities and talents from all of the vanilla classes, and the devs have implemented their own custom Diablo 3-esque enchants that augment your abilities. You can also tame undead, demons, dragons, and elemental mobs. The transmog system lets you mix and match different armor classes, ie you can visually wear plate and cloth and mail, so you can really look like anything you want. Lastly, you can opt into a high risk PvP phase, where you can find better loot and gatherable materials, find notorious monster spawns, and you can loot other players (they drop 1 piece of their gear).

Vanilla server with new zones and dungeons and quests and class changes. It also had a great community for most of it's existent but it got popular and is overrun with the standard private server crowd nowadays

This is pretty standard game advertising now because they hire sheltered adult-children who don't know how to interact with other humans to manage their social media. As another example: recent Saints Row controversy.
If you want to see the opposite, check out the guys who manage fast food social media accounts.

Weird, I could watch those video just fine few days ago, but they are now blocked.

Ho well, just going to say that marketing gaslighting people into pretending this is a decent game is fucking hilarious.

This is what happens when you chase higher resolution and don't have any sense of taste. Art director must have gone blind or fired for being accused of thinking about maybe asking out a coworker on another game in a different building.

This is the logical conclusion of the WoW art style.

The dragons are so thicc it's disgusting.

Not only that but there are those Micheal bay moments in the story with this cartoonish villain with a very growling voice.
Raaaaawr i am the bad guy that wants to destroy everything because i am a Villain.
Why you are a villain? Because i want to destroy everything!
Why do you want to destroy everything? Because i am a villain!

Peak storytelling lol.
