I like the idea of samurai becoming a specialized mage later on in the game.

I don't know how much latitude you have to add new schools of magic or traits but maybe add some sort of fighter oriented magic skill that samurais and lords merge into later on. Although the spell subsets for them should be different from other caster classes of course.

Was there ever any changes made to the fighter to spice that class up?
It's sorely lacking in the variety department.
In the confines of Wiz's 8 modding capabilities, how do you suggest we change the Fighter in a way that "spices" him up?

Not entirely related, but I wonder if it would be possible to make stealth users not block enemy movement when ignored and drop the AC bonus. You can't be meatshielding while hiding.

Would make Fighter a bit more useful when Rogue, Ninja or Monk would no longer be able to tank (though I would propose taking stealth off Monks in that case, since fleshy tank build is so unique, maybe up the damage resistance to compensate).

Maybe the opportunity to inflict more status than knock an opponent out?
Perhaps the ability to wield EVERY melee and ranged weapon (save for Omnigun and a few others)?
A bonus to all weapon skills, not just sword?
Introduce a scaling damage reduction based on vitality?

You did notice that it was in conjunction with taking stealth skill (and whole associated AC bonus) away, right?

Have you guys played around with the editor yet?

Stuff like the Fighter's "knock out on attack" is semi-hardcoded. You can change which class gets the ability but you can't actually change the details like what status conditions it inflicts etc.

Finishing the last few item images, so I'd try to collect some final info for the 1.0 release.

Current changes from the last version:
-Ninja garb +% critical, starting ninja gear changed to simple cloth
-Mana stones get invisible -1% Fire resist in order to make them not disappear at 0 charges (thanks, townltu)

Known problems with unknown solution:
-broken stealth (overpowered)
-broken lightning strike (underpowered)

So, what am I forgetting?

What *can* be done about stealth?
Because LS, AFAIK is pretty obscure and inaccessible to modding.

If you give samurai harder hitting weapons it'll automagically fix lightning strike.
