Even worse, he starts calling you names when you just politely disagree with him. Why should that crap be even tolerated? Anywhere you go, there are some norms of acceptable behaviour, even among the glue sniffing hobo punks, come on. Probably genuine. That's the thing, if you don't enforce any rules, all problematic people who have been kicked out from everywhere else will just end up here... I guess the real question is, is that desirable or not.

Also, the free speech thing is a facade for many guys here; they just come here to vent aggression or whatever and engage in low-level shitposting under the disguise of "free speech". Not letting you to behave like an angry orangutan (apologies to the real orangutans) is not equal to limiting your freedom to discuss your ideas in a civil manner. The sad thing is this distinction is lost on many.

Next time try it in a pub in real life, go in, start screaming and abusing people, and see how that will go.

The key difference here is that you enjoy the cultural cachet in "working" for a site that has active devs from all over the industry posting here. More than posting, you communicate with them and their marketing/PR teams one-on-one. You love that access, it makes you feel special. So, you need to show them that there is a line that posters can't cross, so that they'll feel safe to continue posting here. Continuing to personally contact you.

It's transparent, if this site weren't full of NEETs they would see it too. Yet, in the land of the blind...
