What game are you wasting time on?

Also I remember now I've had trouble seeing practical implications of being a box champion in some old run.
You gain increased reputation in New Reno and a bonus to DR.
The DT/DR increase was a bug in the original game. The Restoration patch got rid of it even back in the day.

I think the reward was an increase of rep and maybe Unarmed Combat? I am not sure as it has been a while.

Been playing Diablo 1 PS1 (on Retroid 3+ handheld during downtime at work, otherwise I wouldn't use PS version); always neglected it as I started with 2 as a teenager. Great atmosphere. Though, playing as a warrior level 12 feels impossible, incredible enemy/projectile spam. I may have to restart.. maybe one-shots through the dungeon aren't intended? I should have expanded into having some magic and more dex I guess. Getting kind of worn down at constantly baiting fights, all the enemies that run away if you get within a few meters of them, or others that hit you with ranged flurries that cancel all of your moves. I do love the idea of having cursed items, those that may give a nice buff at the expense of something else.

I'm playing some Doom: Plutonia, since it's been a long while since I last played it.
It will be interesting to see whether or not I can make it a No Death Run, but I will most likely die either due to carelessness or the sheer amount of tough demons in many of the levels.
Revenants, revenants everywhere...
Also many of the levels use environmental traps and a lack of space to maneuver in order to increase the difficulty. Many players have said it is a very gimmicky Wad, and I can certainly see why.
I like it though.

I tried playing Plutonia Experiment once.
Once.
What filtered you?
I think it was the archvile and chaingunner spam on the first few levels, but I'm not entirely sure.
Yeah, it does get infuriating after a while, but one learns to adjust to it.
Aaand I fucking died already...
Level 9 "Abattoire" did me in...
That last section on that circular platform. Incubi, revenants, chaingunners...

Finished Daikatana. Another game I've started maybe half a dosen times and then stopped. Getting past the dogshit chapter one makes the game a whole lot more enjoyable. Some really nice level design in the chapters following. Gameplay is a pretty janky and stiff, but overall I still thought it was enjoyable. Micromanaging the companions was a pain in the ass though and did detract a fair bit from the experience.

Are you sure you didn't get you health drained into oblivion by black death zombies? Or did they change that in psx version?

No, I never saw them. I've now reset and taken this character back through the dungeon. I don't know if the PC version was different but I lost most of my inventory items, not just the uniques (maybe unintended idk). I'm now on floor 16 as a level 22 warrior (it actually feels like hell with ranged-attack spam at this point). I usually clear entire floors so I'm not sure why (maybe just the proc-gen/spawns), but it felt way less challenging this time. On the first run I had several floors with huge packs of spitters that stun-locked me, and I barely saw any of those this time around. Floor 12's layout was also less brutal and had less giant clumps of succubi as well ..until I hit floors 13-15 at least. Also strange I didn't get any orange or many good blue drops that first run, but I have now this time around.. luck seems to play it's part throughout it all.

With a warrior always carry a bow around for those succubi. Also I suggest playing with devilutionX. They've managed to get rid of most bugs.

Playing the first Splinter Cell for the first time since I was a kid. Actually started in order to collect footage to make a point about the mediocre Batman games, but I'm not sure I can use it, because the way Splinter Cell uses darkness is actually ridiculous. The darkness/light is so weirdly isolated to small spots, and everyone works with the lights off, as if electricity costs a fortune. Definitely should play a part in a Batman game, but Splinter Cell forced it too much.

Also weird how they can suddenly see you even in the dark as soon as you are discovered.

I hadn’t had a single bow drop that was more than 1-10 damage or I would have. Guess I was just being obstinate and brute-forcing through it. Getting the “grizzly” (I think it was called) two-hander towards the end was a huge help. I’ll have to look into Devilution when I replay on PC. Thanks.

I want to say that Deus Ex: Invisible War has kinda grown on me...
Nowhere near as bad as some make it out to be.
Though nowhere near as great as the original game, it is way more cyberpunk and hi tech.

Is there an easy way to install Viva New Vegas? I'm preparing for a new vegas run after Fallout 1 and apparently Viva New Vegas is supposed to be great, but it's a bastard to get installed.
Bruh, it took me 3 secs of googling

Their own webpage!

Still, I don't know if this is the easy way, I installed it manually.
