Woke game. Do you really have no other new crpg, old RPG, new/old other genre game, other hobby, sport, science, agriculture, seduction, old/new good book, movie, serie, manga, anime, graphic novel, bitch to fuck, job to do, career, family members, anything, new skill to learn, money to make, mountain to climb, literally ANYTHING else BETTER to do instead of playing WOKE game by people that want you dead and want to normalize wanting you dead by rewriting your history and Wild West as part of that history and you participate in buggy, shallow WOKE game, where you sacrifice yourself so your black bull can keep fucking your digital wife, I mean...

Holy fuck. What a bunch of losers. No, unironically. What a bunch of losers who'll in coming societal storms lose everything. CUCKS! Instead of preparing, you prepp your black bull in Weird West. Fucked West. Fucked beyond help
Wall it cant be that bad ....Im sure you exaggerating ?

Hot take: This game clearly is trying to be woke with its diversity, but is probably pretty cool anyway

So this is my view generally when it comes to games that overdo wokeness and SJWism, its doesnt mean I wont play them because games for me are not about meaningful political statements ...frankly I dont care what games say about these issues. They dont influence my RL views

They about fun and if a game is fun it would take a lot for me to boycott it

But I will still raise concerns about the lack of representation of white men

Yeah but they clearly are for some of the people who make them (like the writers in this one). Maybe most of the people who make them, nowadays. 10 years ago, sure, one might have swallowed the occasional bit of bs one disagreed with if the gameplay was good, because there were still many other games around that didn't genuflect that were also good.

But now? Nah, it's all saturated with the same monotonous preaching. None of it's worth paying for, regardless of gameplay quality. In fact, design talent is now the slave of propaganda, and you're effectively paying to keep the slave ships rolling.

Eh, I don't mind Weird West being weird. I enjoyed Hard West A LOT (the weird part being just a good excuse to enchance the combat with some unique stuff and create strange - but interesting - scenarios).

However, if you use that merely as an excuse to push your personal political agenda/beliefs, without any consideration for the project you're part of, then you obviously have no business being in the writing department and your work will likely to be a tiresome tirade. Now, this is a general statement. I have yet to watch YouTube videos in order to decide whether I will buy the game myself, but I must admit seeing the main writer being so engaged in these fucking left-right political "debates" is not inspiring my confidence as this is exactly the kind of thing I am tired of and not something I am interested in when it comes to video gaming.

Disco Elysium at least managed to be actually fun/interesting while talking about its politicks. But that, again, only shows the importance of quality writing and the writer's ability to detach himself from his work when necessary (or having a good team that is capable of collaboration).

You make some convincing points around the ideological left\liberal leaning of the writer but Im the same as you and I dont know enough about the overall writing to comment in an informed way

Im just not happy with what I have seen so far and what others have mentioned

I hear you and you raise some valid concerns but I havent bought this game yet so I am not supporting the ostensible " slave ships rolling " yet ?

Man melee sucks... it requires so much setup with skills and placement, constantly chasing people around while they unload clips into your face at twice the speed. It's satisfying when you hit an elaborate setup, but when it fails you just shoot them in the face, after a while might as well just skip the bullshit and just shoot from the start.

Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy Codex Year of the Donut Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
I just have a quest to help two old cowboys who are gays to escape together, well i helped them. I feel dirty now. These times... :kingcomrade:

You doing the right thing, no need to feel dirty when it comes to ending bigotry :salute:

It's just funny. You have a wild west setting with demons, ghosts, aliens and what not, and the writers go down the route of brokeback mountain. It could have been demons chasing them, or a witch, anything really, that would have nothing to do with sexuality. Nope we gotta have "homophobia is bad message" in our game - because current year.

Not sure why you all care about woke NPCs in a game where you can kill ANY character you want to. This is Is not WOTR where you have to keep interracial transgender lesbian couple in your inner circle until the end of the game.

If you don't like someone- just choke them, drag them behind the barn and burn their unconscious ass with oil lamp.

Wait till someone posts pictures of said actions and then the devs make them invincible :P

Listen to this part of the podcast: from 22:08 to 44:14 . They talk about gameplay and other things. Interesting to say the least. But that's just me.
Sounds like there's a lot effort put into the small details adding to the reactivity. Hmmmm...this makes me want to give it a go.

Probably get -100000 rep points for killing them.

Yes, the game does punish you for committing indiscriminate murder by lowering your reputation, assuming people know you did it. Seems pretty in line with real life in that respect. That said, nothing is stopping you killing even game-critical NPCs based on my own experiments.

Im liking this notion of killing anyone who is annoying me, it reminds me of my RDR2, both online and SP, mass murder killing sprees

There are artifacts that give bonuses for having low reputation. So it's more of a playstyle feature than punishment.

Sight... sometimes I wonder if devs even play their own game to fine tune it and give it any resemblance of balance

Who thought it was a good idea, even on the hardest difficulty to have a regenerating mana bar, ala Dishonored where you could spam the fucking blink like there's no tomorrow?

Now you can spam a fucking silent shot perk with 200% damage from a rooftop and literally take out whole camps

Sorry, Raf, but now I know it was your retarded idea in Dishonored and you did it again, congrats

Shit, going on rooftops literally breaks the fucking game, the AI can't even climb anything, that's absolutely embarrassing wtf

Given all the impressions so far I'm perplexed about just what exactly is in this thing that Raph couldn't do in any given Arkane game. Seems like he's chasing the same kinds of people Dishonored/Prey/Death Loop were going for? Except doing worse because it's not first person. :P

Pigman bloody rocks.

Can't wait for the first cosplayer.

Yeah I've noticed anecdotally that most people seem to like the Pigman and castizo werewolf campaigns the most. White men win again.

I must admit seeing the main writer being so engaged in these fucking left-right political "debates" is not inspiring my confidence as this is exactly the kind of thing I am tired of and not something I am interested in when it comes to video gaming.

The troon's not the main writer, just the co-writer.

It always regens one bar dude. The worst offender is absolutely moronic AI though, which can't be fixed that easily.

When you are having a firefight it's actually pretty decent and fun, but once you get on a roof the game breaks.

I've been shot dead on the roof more than once. How does the game break? Only thing I've noticed is a companion getting stuck on the roof and I had to push them off.
