And then on top of all that, I'm almost positive that the tooltip on strength is fucked up.

Nothing is Retroactive.. So bonus skills per Int or bonus Con per Strength really scuffs your character if you take them too late.
Odd design choice.

If I put 9 points into strength on the starting character, and then get my 10th point from the hat in my inventory, when I level up, will it use 10 strength, or 9 strength to determine CON?

I assume it will use 10 strength, which makes me believe this can be abused by stacking strength items on low STR toons and then removing them on level up.

Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire Grab the Codex by the pussy RPG Wokedex Strap Yourselves In Codex Year of the Donut Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. Pathfinder: Wrath I helped put crap in Monomyth
Also re: skill costs, some people were complaining that the final skill rank costs 21 skill points or w/e. The UI actually shows the total cost from where you are starting.

As an example: In the screenshot below, you can see the cost of the final rank of the melee skill for my melee character is 6 skill points:

Oh SHIT. It does use 10 STR for retroactive con-per-level gain, and I was incorrect on 1 STR giving con-per-level and thinking the tooltip was busted. The issue was I was checking that on my character wearing the hat, and even though it doesn't display the hat's impact on his stat list, it does influence everything including CON. So he was already getting the benefit of having 2 STR even though he was only listed as 1, because of the damn hat.

Edit: Additionally, you can get stats higher than 10 with items like the hat. Just checked it on my maxed melee dork. It doesn't continue at the massively increased rate like that final 10th point, but it looks to increase at the stat's regular rate. Which is to say, he got 5 flat con, 3% more melee damage, etc from having 11 STR.

Currently at level 17 and the enemy has starts to become bullet sponge, every one has 500+ health, meanwhile my melee character with 45 armor and 10 str still gets one shot by the enemy sniper for some reason.

Only played a little last night, few hours max, but I've noticed the game started freezing up or stuttering during animations in combat, and combat only.

Also, I picked up a cyborg hand almost straight up from the start, but it says it needs a particular skill for that, Cyborg Tech or something like it. Does anyone know where or when you eventually find the skill book or does some NPC teach you the relevant skill?

The pulse gun does not require Weird Science though, it's just an AR with energy ammo. Weird Science allows you access to weird weapons, unsurprisingly.

There's a Weird Science gun called "frozen ferret launcher" (and yes, that's literally what it is) you can find pretty early on in the game, for example.

It feels like inxile finally hit their stride with this one. I wasn't a huge fan of wl2 but I'm hooked on 3. My only real complaint after 12 hours is that the dialogue ui is garbage, but that's probably something fixable with mods.

The gap between certain weapon classes is outrageous.

HMS, Shotguns, rockets, are all *dramatically* better than single shot it feels like. Brawling 10 as well.

Assault rifles and snipers being pretty awful is a pleasant surprise to be sure, most RPGs have them as the opposite.

Also seems like things changed between beta and release, so you should max stats to 10

well in the second game assault rifles were the kings of the battlefield, now its the opposite.

Getting more concerned with that as time goes on. Just did Brygo's casino by killing everyone and that was a bit gnarly, and then I did the synth-hunting side quest. Is kind of feeling like the bad guys are outpacing the rate the party advances. Having to use more cheese like rocket launcher and my sniper, which are the only two reliable major damage dealers. Picked up a few deployable turrets I'll try out later, but given how shit animal whisperer is I wouldn't be surprised if the turrets are garbage too unfortunately.

I am disappointed that I can not target the groin with my sniper's special!
You can target fuel tanks on flamethrower guys and the CPU on robots though. One-shot a boss dude by using a targeted shot to take out his fuel tank.

Before I got this one, I've found a low damage gun in Colorado Springs that can supposedly turn the enemies against their allies. I've yet to see how great this is.
Also there's a scientist type fellow you can recruit at the ranger base that comes with his laser pistol. Think I could also buy a similar laser pistol in Colorado Springs.

So, yeah, the post-apoc scarcity of goods isn't really a thing here.

Also I've yet to see how useful these things are, but I like how many special attacks give enemies various debuffs/status effects, which can later be exploited by attacking using a different weapon category that has specials that do +100% damage when the enemy has that debuff.
Nice combo potential and seems important.

For people who played Wasteland 2, which one is canon? Saving
Highpool or AG Center
?

I'm thinking of trying to play W2 again while W3 gets patched and I'd like to go for the canon choices.

It seems that I can just run it fine on my old potato: a laptop with 710m, 8GB, recently added SSD and i73537U. I first had it connected to the TV and I guess it had the resolution increased. I really like what I played so far. It really looks the camera is OK now, music and sounds are great. The inventory thought....
Can you import savegame from W2?

Hmm, I have a really tough time deciding the focus attribute for my sniper.
Already have 6 Coordination (with Serial Killer to get the second shot more often).
Plus moderate Int and Luck. But I'm thinking Awareness might be good also. Up to +35% reliable damage and up to +10% to hit (not that much, but stacks - and every miss sucks as a sniper - while enemies are often behind cover, some may also have high Evasion?).
Int improves crit chance and crit damage. But you also can add a lot of static crit chance bonuses (Goat Killer, Tomcat, rabbit foot, rifle base crit chance, rifle sight, helmet bonus plus probably more), so again, up to +10% crit chance is maybe max +50% crit rate.
Meanwhile Luck, if I understand correctly, when you do crit, might make it really count. Plus provide extra AP, loot etc.

So, Int vs Luck vs Awareness on a sniper. Discuss.

What group will be the alternative for synth hunters...
...for base space? There was an option for declining them by saying we're saving the space for someone else which I didn't, even tho Wolfe is a jerk, synths are dangerous amirite?

If I could Respec my sniper I would go for coordination+other sources of AP until i could attack twice and then int and awareness in equal measure? Not sure which one will bring your damage up faster. I don't know how I feel about luck yet. The 25% crit chance you get from maxing int is pretty dang nice, and my sniper crits are pretty much always one shots at this stage of the game (after denver, level 14). Awareness is probably pretty important just because percentage increase to base damage and high crit multiplier have great synergy?

I think sniper is one of the few builds where you can skip bringing strength and speed up to 4~ without really regretting it. It seems like a lot of builds will want to avoid dumping more than two or three stats?
