Here's my opinion on the subject of homosexuals in armed forces and why I don't want them there:

And that's all I have to say about that

The sad thing is, fags in post-apo can be interesting characters. But for that you'd have to acknowledge the fact that a gay person would be discriminated against even worse than in "real life". Survival should come first, after all. So a realistic gay guy would probably be someone who forces straight guys to be his fucktoys through violence and extortion. So Oz instead of "here is my husband!" -situations.

You know what I don't get? I don't get what these people understand by gay. It's one thing to have an interesting character that happens to be gay. But it seems that they want camp queens who flaunt their orientation all the time. It's like their only thing is that they're gay.
"I can't do that, sarge, I'm gay."
"I'm not wearing that armor, with these shoes!"
"We need to do this quest cap'n, it'll be fabulous, and I'm gay."
"Taking heavy fire and I'm gay!"

And bizarrely, most probably they aren't homosexuals themselves. Baffles your mind.

So, Fargo, Avellone and Cain making an isometric turn-based cRPG. I think my brain still hasn't registered the awesomeness of that sentence.

edit:

:yeah:

By the way, ever realized that whenever you flirt with Annah or Fall From Grace in PS:T, you're practically flirting with MCA (since he wrote them)... Now imagine there were actual sex scenes... Would that be like...?

I suspect that MCA and co might lend a helping hand here regardless of funds pledged, but still, great news!

I remember when people here wanted the Wasteland 2 companions to be simple creations with little in the way of dialogue. I remember people trolling that thread about BioWarian companions on the Wasteland forum. I wonder if people still feel the same way now that the likes of Chris Avellone will no doubt be on board.

Codex bitching about Obsidian is not edgy anymore. As if there's a better company out there we might trust to make a decent RPG (or better developers, like Fargo could have hired anybody that was better then what Obsidian's got in the first place, particularly with such a puny budget). Plus, with Tim Cain on board, they are better equipped then ever.

They can put MCA and the guy from MoTB leading the writing team, Sawyer and Tim Cain helping on the gameplay and if they stick with a simple engine, particularly if its an isometric one with a fixed perspective, its not like there's much they fuck up on the technical department.

Fuck the edginess, i'm actually optimistic about this.

Sure, why not? It's not like MCA didn't work on Icewind Dale. He can beef up the dialogues and C&C with NPCs. Companions don't matter.

I really doubt that this project is going to get another $500K before the deadline is over anyway. Most of the people who care about it already donated.

I would have much preferred if they had kept the original devs only. I really can't see Obsidian's style meshing well with Wasteland. Not without changing it too much.

GREAT just GREAT. Now we can expect a whole lot of bugs and an unfinished game.

Seriously, I so much preferred when it was just Brian Fargo and his team. At least then we could hope for a good release. Not because they have excellent credentials and history but because their games are not known for being bugged and unplayable at release.

Honestly, I think they would've reached the 2M mark anyway
