A nice kick in VOTS's shriveled scrotum who was saying that it wouldn't reach 2 mil once upon a time.
It is obvious that VotS was right.

Having a toolset is a waste of development time. All the money should be 100% spent on making a content and combat rich game. AFTER the game is done, then perhaps (if financially feasible, based on sales) they should do an old school Expansion Pack that add moar content (and gameplay enhancements) and then possibly a toolset.

Just my 2 cents.
Iirc they already said that the plan, upon reaching 3mil (or some other sum?) they'll be also making the extended modding tools but that'll be only released after the main game itself?

And weren't you one to always tout for modding tools with posts like these so I'm surprised to see you flipflop about it now, why?

Of course. I was just using their 'at 3mil there will be mod tools' thing and saying that not reaching 3 mil won't be some terrible thing.

Indeed, the proper expansion pack rather than a bunch of DLC is also something that we should be agitating for after the game is released. If Fargo is going all the way with the old-school thing then that's the way to go!

Actually to be honest I'd rather the game be complete as is, without the need for expansions at all; be fully self contained without loose ends that exist only as a cheap hook for added content. Anything extra can be in Wasteland 3...

Expansions WITH THE RIGHT FOCUS can be a valuable addition. Adding and enhancing the original game, adding more content and adjusting some game mechanics based on feedback is a GOOD thing. It only will make Wasteland 2 even better. I agree on the "loose ends that exist only as a cheap hook for added content" part. The expansion should either further enhance the plot or add a smaller side plot that also enhances the original. NOT just doing an expansion just for the sake of an expansion (as Publishers focus solely on PROFIT! Not actual good quality content).

True enough. I'm just used to derp expansions that retcon shit, add more questions and don't even properly answer those posed in the original games, are out of place thematically or don't add anything except more cut pasta shit to grind.

I clearly remember that you had a different opinion when the W2 campaign just started. ;)

To be honest, I was afraid that this project will not reach 900k $, but is heart warming to see it past 2.5mil $.
So whoever said 2.7mil $ in the beginning, is ... a good "estimator" :)

Can I just say that throughout this whole thing I've been very optimistic but $2.5?! Fuck. Even I wasn't sure this high a number was going to be reached. I am so excited by this recent Kickstarter movement. Honestly. Haven't felt this excited for new games in a GODDAMN long time.

We need more avatars that combine the best of Hello Kitty, Little Princess with Happy Rpgcodex Trolls, to show everyone how happy we are.

And the final surge begins! It would be cool if it made $3 million. Seems like a possibility at this point.

^ Doubtful.

Fargo is something of a tweet-machine tonight.
Brian Fargo ‏ @BrianFargo
BTW we will be localizing in both Russian and Polish. And we will coordinate with the offers of help at the appropriate time.
Rejoice, mighty nation of potatoes.

Offers of help? I think the codex potatoes could give a hand with that.

^ Hopefully it will be like DFA's and see a huge spike during the live stream and/or the final couple hours.
