I'd say it's worth going through, since you get some proper answers at the end. Even if it's fair from all of them, of course. Where in the endgame are you?Someone above mentioned the endgame is a drag, and I do agree. I can't remember the last time I played an RPG that had a good endgame... maybe ever.
Edit: is it worth slogging through, or is this best remembered for the fun I've had up to now?
In the middle (I hope) of the Tchortch Institute missions and I have a huge stack of consumables, ammo, battles are all super easy etc. I was thinking of doing the Expedition and calling it, but maybe I should persist then.I'd say it's worth going through, since you get some proper answers at the end. The ending is just a psycopath's amusement for other psychopaths. The difficulty spike there is simply made for people without a life who know every single aspect of ruleset and gameplay to enjoy this part without listing all the saints on the calendar thousands of times.Someone above mentioned the endgame is a drag, and I do agree. You're kind of late for Expedition (you're 20+ lvl right?) so just go for the real endgame, you're very close. You have to see it at least somewhat more. To form an opinion. Expedition in itself is also worth checking for sure, too.In the middle (I hope) of the Tchortch Institute missions and I have a huge stack of consumables, ammo, battles are all super easy etc. I was thinking of doing the Expedition and calling it, but maybe I should persist then.

I played it 1 year ago. I don't think DC have gone through any reshaping since then. Maybe I'm wrongThe ending is just a psycopath's amusement for other psychopaths.
This was the case before the world map update. Nowadays Deep Caverns is nowhere near as oppressive.
There is also Phreak's faction if you don't want to be with any of the Corporations and the "mutant's way".Just finished it after all these years. Ending is pretty underwhelming but not really an issue... the combat, exploration and interesting setting are top tier. Definitely a fun game and hopefully the sequel can recapture the magic.
So I know... is there any replayability in making 'different choices' in this game? I get the feeling that the replay value is in trying different combat styles, and that the choices you make are either borderline mandatory (don't piss off the Faceless) or irrelevant (which oligarch, Protectorate v Drones, sinking cash into decorating a doll house in Core City?!).
I'd quite like to try a psy build on a much harder setting at some point. AR was great but a bit one dimensional in terms of tactics.
You're correct. Although your character build can often feed into the choices you make, as they provide different rewards and merchants. A tin can build is going to want to side with the Protectorate, while a knife hobo will want to ally themselves with the Free Drones. Same goes for Core City's and Junkyard's factions.I get the feeling that the replay value is in trying different combat styles
