I thought the apologies was just common Korean business courtesy, but now I know it's actually them showing off.

So I'm playing this right and I like it a lot. Honestly, knowing that the developers are korean I'm surprised to see that this game doesn't copy/steal things from DFO.

Also, I don't understand how people find this game to be easy, may be you guys are way more skilled at turn based combat than me. I agree that story missions are trivial, but repeatable ones with challenge mode enabled are quite tough.

Tygrende give it a try once you are done with Archolos, I'm sure you'll like it.

My advice is don't give up if half your squad gets wiped. If you fight well with the survivors you can usually come up with a win. And if you're having a hard time, just replay a mission or two to level your guys. And pay attention to masteries. Collecting them and building them up into better masteries is the most important way you can improve your party.

Oh yes, I've already learned that once I tried to replay the mission where you have to fight timas for the first time. Unlike it's story equivalent you have to fight a big group of spoonist with way fewer men (without getting overpowered Heixing to AOE kill everyone for you) and at the certain point a big group of timas comes charging at you from behind. In the end I was left with only 2 men standing, with one of them being down to something like 20% of his HP.

There are only a couple of things I don't like so far.
  1. Why do certain things take so long to unlock? Why do they dump a big and complex system of masteries on you almost immediately, but you have to beat several missions just to unlock a merchant and start selling your stuff... What?
  2. Why is Sion the first character you recruit, why not somebody like Ray? I've read that Sion is becomes great later, but at the start the guy has nothing, no range, no survivability, no accuracy, no speed, no mobility and no utility. He has some decent AOE and damage, and I've already stacked a bunch of crit and some HP on him, so he nukes hard, but putting him in range of attacks means that it is guaranteed that he'll get mobbed by melee dudes and he can't stay behind, because his attacks have small range. In comparison Ray's basic skill is an AOE attack that ignores cover, she has a strong heal with no CD and a decent melee attack that can stun, she would've been a much better character for a new player I think, no idea why the devs chose to give you Sion instead.

Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is. Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture I helped put crap in Monomyth
In the beginning, Sion as a black mage is an amazing glass cannon. His chain lightning skill helps the party immensely.

Sion is a beast whole game. I would guess he did the most kills/dmg in my playthrough.

Last mission was a good challenge. red/black/white robot are again very nasty if you dont expect em when my whole roster is made for cover attacking. Impulse field + draki's scale does not work too well end game anymore but too lazy to start retesting stuff did that enough already

What should I give him? I've only just completed jigsaw story mission.

Here's what I have:

No real choice with the gear so far, I equipped him with whatever gives the most HP and defense. I find that Albus performs way better early, if he can't charge in then he can sit behind cover and safely spam wind attacks, which hit hard and dudes that try to melee him get slapped really hard by counterattacks and forestallment.

You are in the early parts of the game. Later on, you will have an opportunity to pump his accuracy and damage.

When picking gear look for accuracy and ESP. When picking masteries, for accuracy, look for 'one by one' and 'position of advantage'. For damage, look for 'magic acceleration', 'soul drain', 'willpower', 'magic bash', 'ambush', and black mage masteries that boost damage.

For reference, this is a steam guide that lists all the mastery sets:

I've also been playing this the past couple of weeks, the game is amazing and the devs are saints.

I especially love those long violent missions that take the butt clenching to the max:

Looks quite early, try the class masteries + willpower if you can find it. At the point in the game I'm at, if there are enough enemies he can use all his attacks every single turn:

Does this game go on sale regularly? Looks good but it's kinda pricy for me.

The game is not only worth it, but the devs 100% deserve it to the point I'm considering actually buying the fucking artbook to support them.

Because you are just some noname fag. No reputation, no power, no money. Why would someone competent work for you at the start of the game? Only other poorfags or vigilante larpers like Sion or Hero Irene would join you permanently.

Its a long game, and there are so many things to unlock, could be said you are still in the tutorial.

My guess is that its because your team is meant to be weak at the start. Watching your team grow into a force to be reckoned, its so god damn satisfying. When Ray comes in she has a more complete kit, because shed be useless compared to the rest if she didnt.

Ok, I don't know what I did, but I bought a bunch of gear, swapped some masteries and Sion kills everything now, has enough HP and defense to take some hits without dying instantly, accuracy is still kind of a problem though. I would like him to be able to reliably snipe enemies behind cover with his beam.

Irene got her heroic ass one shot on her first mission by an enraged magma tima. I really don't like her lonely hero stuff, think I'll just stick with justice instead.

My Sion isn't terribly accurate at either but he's got the chain attack and the lightning bolt so I pretty much only use his shooting attack when both of those are on cooldown or he can catch someone out in the open. Once he's got bonds with other party members he's even more deadly, since those can trigger him to use an attack but not put it on cooldown.
