Nope!

Also I am suspecting the real reason they are after the Disney version is to put it on Steam, I *really* starting to dislike this company because let me be honest, when a game was written it was written with those scenes, some characters end up losing when those scenes are removed or changed and things are lost.

In this you lose a LOT of Aname because of how she was written and how those scenes are part of her character (its even amusing that the scenes they are from her PoV) and the other 2? I say again ... its a fandisk and as a fandisk you have scenes added that doesnt even make sense, like there is one were he does the whole Basketball Team from Angel Howl ... its fan service, this is why its a fandisk.

There are All Ages versions they could try getting, KEY simply just does All Age versions ... Clannad. Little Busters and Rewritte ... all were initial released as All Ages.

Kickstarter simply doesn't allow that sort of content. Business-wise, the made a smart decision here. And getting on Steam would be even better.

They are also trying to do the original versions with the sex scenes included:
"So here's what I can say right now regarding 18+.
We know people are upset that currently none of the money they're pledging towards is going to that goal. We're working towards a solution we just need time. Right now is the busiest time for companies in Japan. Why? Comic Market, it's a big thing for them so once that rolls past at the end of the year. We'll be able to firmly hammer out what we wanted to do.
As posted on our socials, we are aiming for January to finalize talks about the situation and hope to have a solution that everyone is happy with."

Haven't played the VITA versions, not sure what all is censored as they are still M-rated. Hopefully not certain tasteful scenes involving
rotting bodies and/or shotgun to the head.

I guess I'll wait 'till after holidays to see what happens.

Not really. Steam is really weird with sex. They refused Eien no Aselia's all-ages version from Steam due to the fact that there exists an adult version (even though it is only a fan translation). The policy has since changed, since they have now Mangagamer's all-ages games up, even though they still sell the porno-version in their own store.

But a simple patch can't resolve things most of the times since the all-ages version may be on totally diffirent VN engine or feature radical scene changes. Unless you're able to 100% unpack and repack the files, including adding new scenes... yeah.

Actually, I think Steam would probably be down to having games with sex in them as well... but they are not willing to take the risk with all of the "all characters are 18 years old or older, yet attend highschool" -part of the VN scene...

The protagonist is an interesting character and I had a lot of laughs from the jokes. I wouldn't call the humour high-brow even on a good day, but at least it works. It is the small things, like the way that Makina's way of speaking changes through the game.

Xseed seems to be near releasing a PSP Brandish translation - a remake of a remake or some shit like that - probably because a bum on a hacking forum translated half of it on a week and they got jelly.

Brandish PSP cover looks like this:
brandish_psp.jpg

which is undoubtedly false advertising, but it works for me

Game is actually out in NA (5 days ago). Don't know about a release in EU yet.

Some game called Chaos Seed for the SNES got a translation.

http://www.dynamic-designs.us/

Seems original, at least. Resource management fags might like it.

Hey I played this one a bit and it's pretty unique. It's a very fun and addictive game. It combines many different gameplay mechanics and it does so successfully. It started a bit action/rpg/roguelike like the binding of Isaac and then it added that into a Dungeon Building mechanic (first time I've seen that one and it's done very good). The game is divided into scenarios. It seems that there are multiple endings to each scenario and depending on what ending you'll get things may change in next one. Also the writing is pretty charming, the translators definitely did a good job.

hardcoregaming has an old article about it : http://www.hardcoregaming101.net/chaosseed/chaosseed.htm

Just tried this today... holy fuck this game. It takes a long while to get into because of all the mechanics that need explaining (and they do NEED explaining, even the basic combat commands are fairly complex (there are 3 different fucking dash attacks) and the Feng Shui shit isn't exactly intuitive.) but there's a really deep game in there. I played to the end of the first scenario and got some sort of bad ending- my character was defeated and then cast into multiple parallel worlds at the same time. I also found some sort of bonus dungeon during the scenario that I didn't get too far in. Game is quite difficult if you're trying to do more than the bare minimum to survive.

Also he didn't mention the summoning/party building mechanic, which is tied into the dungeon because you need your minions to move resources around and patrol the dungeon you've made to keep shitheads out.

It's been a long fucking time since a game made me feel like a noob, and this did the trick and then some.

Also, since I didn't see it in the OP, here's a complete English dub patch for Ys IV on TurboGrafx / PC Engine CD. This is a different game from the SNES Ys IV and remains an exclusive to this day. Text patch has to be applied seperately.

Haven't played this one yet but it was made by Hudson so it's almost guaranteed to be p. fucking good. It's not officially approved by Falcom like the SNES Ys IV though.

Do you guyz know anything new about SMT Soul Hackers translation? (Correct me if I'm wrong) There were 3 projects:

1) One from some dude of Aeon Genesis (abandoned)

http://agtp.romhack.net/

But now for a bit of somewhat sad related news. I don´t often do this, but today I´m announcing that I´m going to be dropping Megami Tensei 1 and Soul Hackers. I´d originally intended to roll the Megami Tensei 1 work into Kyuyaku Megami Tensei, but The Romhacking Aerie beat me to it; both Megami Tensei 1 and 2 are now playable in their SNES incarnations, and the original Megami Tensei for the NES is, well, not very good regardless. So if you want to play it, go for it! It´s available, just not from here. Soul Hackers is getting dropped because it´s out on the 3DS and there´s not much point. If you want to play it, support Atlus and go buy it.

2) Second was being made by Tom & Gemini dudes (PSX port), but I cannot find shit about its progress.

3) Last one by Israel Jacquez (Sega Saturn version), open source project (check the link below)...

https://github.com/ijacquez/SMT-DS-SH

.. but still, no info about its state.

Anyone?

The first two look like they were abandoned when soul hackers had its 3ds exclusive release

Gemini said that 3DS release doesn't affect the PSX translation, if I remember right.
Releasing the script is enough for me, though.

English dub
Get out.

I usually share that feeling but Ys IV has a lot of voiced dialogs without any subtitles, so I’m not sure it could have been done differently. And yeah, the voices here aren’t particularly good but at least they do not fall into the atrocious category. Would have been nice if they had been able to patch in a subtitle system to leave the original voices intact, but at least we can enjoy that version of Ys IV in English that way, and it’s worth it.
