lemme see if i get it straight. gb discovered some news and linked to it with their own flavor text, couchpotato, being a lazy twat, copied their article without marking it as a quote, effectively selling said flavour as his own brainfart, sea got understandably pissed at this and you people think he's trolling?
Phenomicus the developer who made SpellForce, and SpellForce 2 has been been closed according to a report on GamesIndustry.biz.

Now excuse me as I go mourn for a studio that once made games I loved. Damn you EA.
The studio that brought us SpellForce, SpellForce 2, Lord of Ultima, and a variety of other strategy/RPG titles and add-ons has officially been closed, according to a report on GamesIndustry.biz. I've always been a fan of Phenomic's work (well, up until EA acquired them), so this is really disappointing - if somewhat expected - news to me:

is that the original watch text? i assumed it was altered after sea started a shitstorm.
This was added. Also Credit goes to Gamnebanshee for finding the story.
Alrik Fassbauer said:@sea : I thought "we" were at a "friends" level with Gamebanshee ?
And "friends" usually don't mind copying from each other.
Now you express - no matter whether explicitely or impliciotely - that there should be competition between RPG-news sites. You express this by saying that The Watch has "stolen" the Newsbit from Gamebanshee - which implies that Gamebanshee should have a kind of "exclusive news" status. Or at least a "I'm first !" status.
Your posting has one very special effect on me : It severely damged the whole reputation Gamebanshee had for me - personally. And I won't hesitate telling people about this issue - no matter who was first and who was second. What exclusively matters to me is the nEws itself. Having "exclusive" news = "we don't care if others get it or not" or, to push it a bit further on, even = "we consciously want to exclude people from certain, hand-picked (or not) News".
I'm feeling reminded of Marion's Kochbuch now.
P.S. : I shouldn't write here anymore - just in case my things might get copied by Gamebanshee.

Do you understand the word "attribution" or do you need a guide? You are copying 1% more from Gamebanshee than from us.

a few reviews for the mobile title have been released and, while overall mixed, the positive opinions seem to outnumber the negative ones.

Backspace, a time traveling sci-fi action-RPG that a small team at Obsidian worked on for a while before getting shelves.

it's even the same order.(exact same reviews linked)
Giving a nod/thanks/etc to the original source of the story is (or should be) the common courtesy at least, when called up on it and then reacting all butthurt is just fucking douchebaggery and childish as hell but I wouldn't expect anything else from passive-agressive smug assholes like RPGWatch.

small courtesies like that matter, as does honesty. So you want "attribution" for this high level of one sentence content journalism, that probably both sides have read on twitter?
Obsidian was at one time working on a sci-fi RPG called Backpsace, which had time travel elements...
Kotaku has news about a new Obsidian game called Backspace. It was a time traveling sci-fi ARPG that a small team at Obsidian worked on for a while before getting shelved.
While I have to admit that it seems unorthodox to me that an internal pitch that went nowhere would get exposure on a major website, this is what has happened to Backspace, a time traveling sci-fi action-RPG that a small team at Obsidian worked on for a while before getting shelves.
It is not so similar like Infinitron tries to make it.
Wasn't Prosper this alien gfx-artist from outer space? - keep him here, please. He fits perfectly to you.
