FFS! In STEAM the retarded button only still says pre-load. No play or install yet?
just get a VPN and set your location to New Zealand or some shit and you could have started playing yesterday.

 Ahh ok. I guess for US people it's still locked out. That's fine.

It's not, you just cannot into closing and restarting steam. It's been working since 1 here, like they said it would.

Uh, no.

It was released globally at the same instant. It was *not* a rolling release.

Game is out but their registration/account servers are borked. I logged in about 30 min prior to launch but didn't see a way to activate a Steam version. MHC said it went up like 10 min or so before hand so he was able to register. Right now that locks me out of multiplayer but -- unlike D3 -- I can still play solo. Took a break after an hour b/c I want to play some co-op. Just have to decide whether I want a pistol Outlander or a shotgun Outlander!

Since folks seem to be having issues connecting to Runic, I went ahead and created a hamachi network to use for the time being: RPGCodex-TL2/declineof

I'll be dicking around on my staff outlander until folks show up.

I got to level 10 with my engineer when I found out that I could have removed that starting hammer skill for free and get a skill point back, so naturally I deleted him and restarted. :smug:

the story in this game is conplete shit. theres no atmosphere at all. my character is gliding all over the place. couldn't they have implemented some sort of gravity-motion physics so i can at least run convincingly

its still miles ahead of the fraud "diablo 3"

Did they dumb-down the stats system this time? I thought I remembered hearing that.

Anyone know if they have fish that permanently change your pet into something else, instead of just for 5 or 15 minutes? Would be cool, although I'm not sure if I'd easily part with my ferret, Fernando.

I remember that during Beta I found fish that did permanent changes as opposed to timed ones, though they were of course harder to find.

No but it's different this time. Previously you just added defense and whatever your main damage source was. This time they're all useful to everyone so there's more choice involved. Dual wielding is also less shit this time around.

The levels seem kinda...... smaller than Torchlight? I'm only level 6 but they do seem a LOT smaller. They may get more lengthy later on though.

Not sure past act one but the idea was to focus more on the overworld and keep the dungeons a bit more contained/thematic. Keep in mind in TL1 the dungeon levels was all there was (outside of the town map).

Re: stats -- yeah they are arguably more involved this time. You don't just pick vitality + strength/agility/magic -- all abilities are useful. Of course you're still going to lean on one or two more than the others but there is more balance than last time.

I can't figure out which stats to pick. I'm making an Engineer with specialization in bots... But which weapon to choose..? Hmm.

Seems structured like: big areas (a lot bigger than tl1) that have a bunch of smaller dungeons with 1-3 levels.
Doesn't look like armor calculation and -armor on hit were fully thought out.

Act 2 is pretty banal so far. I find that itemization is pretty whack too. They should've had set items have the same pre defined stats, but randomized. I keep finding sets that give melee set bonuses but have caster stats and vice versa. It's annoying to find an item with otherwise good set bonuses but shit stats, like +50 poison armor.

Also, I'm playing an Embermage with Lightning spells. Prismatic Bolt is fantastic, but the other spells are kinda crappy. I hope the level 41 spell is good, but we'll see.
