I don't think you need to play a particular list of games to be considered a cRPG veteran anymore than you need to fight in a particular war to become a war veteran (any war will do). Play 3-7 RPGs with UI built for keyboards and I'll call you a cRPG veteran if you want.

Now, as for cRPG literacy, that's a different story.

"Bachelors" is extensive familiarity with Kickstarter and post-Kickstarter era games (crowdfunded not a requirement, just that era), "Masters" is late 90s/early 2000s Infinity Engine-era including pretty much all Bioware/Black Isle/Troika games, and "Doctorate" is Golden Age RPGs like Ultima/M&M/Wizardry/etc.

I already played Rogue and original Rogue-likes

Obviously such list would differ depending on individual in question.

I started with the likes of Icewind Dale, Baldur's Gate, Fallout, Deus Ex, Planescape: Torment, Gothic and Morrowind (I got into Arcanum MUCH later, because I heard it was a buggy mess, so I ended up avoiding it on release). These ended up being my RPG classics.

Yes, nice list, I have a similar list *1. Specially because Silvanus included Rogue. I think Rogue is one of the main game in cRPG history, but I would include "Beneath Apple Manor' (1978) at the top, before Rogue (1980).

*1 With the exception of a few games, such as Starflight or The Magic Candle, and I am uncertain whether I would include NEO Scavenger, despite I'm aware of their existence I have not played it or watched a gameplay. Therefore, I am unable to provide any comment regarding the game.
