The Witcher 3 Pre-Expansion Thread

Looks like a Witcher game if you ask me. So far it looks the only serious deviation from the norm is the open world bit.
Killing x number of monsters and all that crap never bothered me here, since it's your fucking job, goddamn it.

Its pretty much potato Assassins Creed: RPG edition with C&C and titties. They should've got rid of stats and leveling altogether tho.

Unfortunately, they employed an MMO-inspired percentage based levelling system. Most of the skills are passive +x % boosts. So mechanics-wise, you'll be doing the exact same things at level 20, that you were doing at level one. Just with higher probabilities. In other words, very very boring.

I get like 20-50xp per fucking quest and i need 2000 more to get to the next level,bullcrap.

Not for a character like Geralt,it's just doesn't make any sense when you get one shoted by the same old ghoul,wolf,stray dog because he's 5 levels bigger than you.It's a stupid design for a pre determined character that is renowned as a famous fighter.

It's okay, but extremely repetitive in the open world. You'll hear the same short tune play over and over while exploring since it seems to be based on location and just repeats.

The cherry on top is that there is quite an obvious graphics downgrade. Even if you're not a graphics whore, you should still understand how that is a fucked up move from CD Projekt Red. CDPR always likes to pretend that they are one of the last "good guys." The last AAA (or AA) developer who shunned DRM and stood up for PC gamers. Yet they hobbled the graphical fidelity of the PC version just so that it wouldn't outshine the PS4 and Xbone too much.

Skills System is shit and boring, this game would work way better as an action adventure with out stats and shit since the systems which are in are not only broing and useless they clash heavily with the perception you should get of a witcher or geralt in particular. I also would like to know which Idiot thought it a good idea to mark deserter camps or a chest with 4 drowners around as places of interest. When I saw screenshots of this I imagined ruins, stuff with monsters and lore to discover. Now I slaughtered a whole bunch of poor temerian soldiers for no reason at all, I dont even know why they attack me.

The Problem for me know is the whole places system is riddled with this uninteresting garbage but I always think i might miss the one or two good and interesting spots so I have to check them all.

Its not worse than anything else published on consoles like assassin creeds,or dragon age. I can say witcher 3 is a close brother to dragon age inquisition , a good main story good graphics and atmosphere but lot of mmo fillers around it. Its almost built the same way except its looking better(marginally),and you get in the story faster there, its a much better more adult one . Same flaws , combat too simple, get repetitive with a few unique encounters, press X to fast attack press A to roll away, I don't bother with parry it never works good.

You better like it as this what we will get on xboxone and ps4 for the next 4-5 years, with pc port as an afterthough. The exact same games we got on xbox360 with some slight improvements more streamlining and better graphics.

sweet, just tried it, my computer doesnt even meet the min requirements but still getting about 40-50 fps on low settings, no post processing, but 1080p and vsync. and thats without bumping the oc settings on my card : $300 dollar i3 gtx750 ftw. thank god for the console downgrade

Dragon Age 1 was far more than press x to attack...but DA:I was so boring i preferred either the presentation of 2 or the combat of 1, but the WOW format of 3 wasnt even worth the great story cutscenes. id've preferred to watch the movie. all the witcher games have been better in this regard i feel, even if witcher2 was to witcher1 what DA2 was to DA:O
