Eschalon Book I and II for less than 5 bucks each. Pretty tempting.

Daily deals are pretty generic again -- either mediocre games or stuff that's been on sale a bajillion times before. I might pick up Darksiders but I'm not that high on it. Meat Boy was cheaper a couple of weeks after it came out for fuck sake.

A couple of countries banned DM because it has beheading or something. It might work if you change your country in your steam settings? Then again, it might go by IP. Just torrent it.

I think it goes by ip, that error was from the website, I pretends not to exist when searching in the client.
I don't believe any games are banned here, there are more serious problems than violent games here.
I'd pirate it, but I kind of stopped torrenting games for which I'm sure are good. Only use torrents for demoing now.

The Steam servers were also getting hammered pretty badly the last day or two. Try it again later and see if it works? I've definitely had weird errors occur before due to high traffic.

No, it's not that.
Curiously, Alpha Protocol doesn't exist either. :M

Ah, already did the Super Meat Boy challenge of the day. Only had to start the game to get the ticket.

So how's Garshap? It looks very derivative but I don't mind lack of originality as long as it's fun — I enjoyed my time spent with Darksiders for instance. Is it worth it at that price or should no one with honour bother with this?

If you enjoyed Darksiders you'd probably enjoy Garshap -- not that I've played it~

And you get a ticket! Meanwhile I'm too uncoordinated to get the Meat Boy ticket achievement.

Wonder if they're gonna sell all the other interesting stuff for a pittance like this, wasted 3 tickets... :/

I'm sure all of the DLC/missions will be sold by their respective developers. Wouldn't worry about 'wasting' it -- not like any of the prizes are particularly good. Objectively I guess Alien Breed 2 is the best deal of the bunch provided you like such shooters. There's only about five or so of the prizes that are for games I actually own/would want to own.

Yeah, the content should be available after the summer event for real monies. Might as well get it for free if I can. Got the Killing Foor character pack and the Spacechem DLC so far.

Yeah I wish they had better stuff for more tickets instead of a buncha mostly crap for 3 each.

There's a save on the Steam forums if you wanna cheat it. What I ended up doing. I had A+ time ratings on all the light hell levels, didn't want to try getting A+ on all the dark hell levels too, which is what sounds like might be required.

Yep, A+ on all Hell levels, Light and Dark.

Damn, I should go back to that game and start unlocking the achievements for perfect runs. Good bye, sanity!

Yeah I saw that but for whatever strange reason don't feel like cheating it. I'll get back to the game someday, not like one extra ticket is going to make or break me.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention Steam purchases thus far.

Day 2: Only Hamilton's Great Adventure. Gut feeling from dicking with it for the ticket is it should be reasonably fun. $5 might've been on the high end for it but whenever I settle in to play it for keeps it looked entertaining.

Day 3: All the Magicka DLC I didn't already own (Which was most of it) and Garshasp. Magicka DLC probably wasn't really worth the money even discounted, but what the hell. Their live action commercials have amused me a good bit so I'll pay a few bucks for some wizard hats. Garshasp I only took a brief look at, and it looks passable. No great shakes at all, but when the mood strikes me to mindlessly smack some buttons and kill some monsters I bet I'll get $2.50 out of it.

On tickets, I've got every ticket released thus far except the Spiral Knights one they pulled since it wasn't working, and the Alien Breed one which is going to be a rat bastard to get.

MHC, how in hell do you have enough time to play all these games? I mean, I guess you have a job, since you're able to afford the hobby, but even if your job is being a criminal genius you'd still have an entire base of operations to run, minions to order around, robberies to plan, rich people's kids to abduct etc. I've been struggling all week to find some time to play Pride of Nations, and I've barely managed to get beyond the main menu.

tl;dr: What's Pride of Nations like?

All you gotta do is trade TF2 hats to someone to go to work for you and all your problems will just disappear~~

And I know absolutely nothing about Pride of Nations. The only heavy Paradox strategy game like that I've even tried is Crusader Kings, and I didn't play long enough to actually learn it at all.

So far I've only bought Dark Messiah but I have six tickets! There's another three or four things I'm definitely buying at the end even though there's basically no chance they'll be dailies but it doesn't hurt to wait. Here's hoping Sunday's deals don't totally suck!

So what are you guys hoping to grab from this summer's sale?

I've got my eye on Arkham Asylum, Call of Pripyat, MoW: Assault Squad, and also wouldn't mind grabbing GTA4 at a big discount.

CoP with the Complete mod is really good, I've been playing it last couple of days, very nicely done so far.

And well, I grabbed Two Worlds 2, I know it's going to be largely iffy, but hey.

Also, Tropico 3 isn't bad at that price, it's a pretty decent game. You can even pick your stats and change your looks, so it's almost an RPG :M
