X: SuperBox 50% off. According to the Christmas catalogue it costs 20 euros, but upon opening the actual steam page it's 13,60 euros. I wonder if I should.

Also, Flatout 1 & 2 cheap as shit, might get them to play with my bro as well.

There's little entertainment value to be gotten from DA. Just thinking of Deep Roads makes my balls hurt.

I'm almost tempted to pick up the game just to see how bad those parts really are as bad as people claim, 15 euro for the plain old version. 20 for the one with extra derp, not entirely sure if worth it.

On the other ones available today theres what I assume is the remake of Monkey Island one and two for four euros, might get that one.

And of course is any one wants to join Konjad in playing shitty Actision games you can always pick up modern shitfare 2 for an overprice of 30 euro even after 50% of. Really haven't they released a sequel to it already? And with a 4 hour campaign and I assume most players quit it and play the next one the day it comes out even multi player would be dead. Why some one would buy that for 30 euros much less 60 is beyond me.

Yesterday I got King Arthur. I'm not big on RTS games, but at least you can pause this one ala Total war. The game looks pretty cool and I've heard good things, so 5 bucks seemed like a steal.

Today's deals kinda suck. Batman: AA is a good deal, but it's perpetually on sale. Also, I'd advise against Dragon Age. It starts off well and the ending is satisfying enough, but it's so fucking tedious. The Derp Roads and the Fade live up to their reputation. I haven't played the expansion, but I haven't heard much good about it.

Also, Impulse has all Paradox games 50% off right now. I'm thinking about grabbing Majesty Gold for 2.49.

I'm holding out for 75% off DA: Ultimate Edition as I don't really have a huge desire to play (don't like queue/pause game play). Shank is still overpriced at $7.50 as it only has 2-3 hours of game play. I'll probably pick up Tropic 3 Gold for $6 and maybe the Flatout stuff -- don't really like racing games but hey, it's a dollar.

Edit: Tried Blue Toad, way too simplistic/casual.

I resisted the temptation of Dragon Age haul, just not worth it considering the filler hours that you're going to trudge through rote combat sessions.

Tropico 3, which I bought last year and enjoyed a lot, is definitely worth it for 6 bucks, although I wonder whether this could be a free pack-in in the next installment of Tropico, slated to be released next year.

Too bad about Batman, I just spoiled myself by watching a LP of it...overall I feel good about picking up the Arthur RTS yesterday although its impending DLC will cost as much as what I've paid for the game itself.

I haven't jumped on Tropico yet because it seems to just get cheaper and cheaper with each passing sale. And, as you say, the closer we get to Tropico 4 the more likely it'll be peanuts. So, if anything, it will only go down in price and since I have a fairly substantial backlog of titles to play as it is... shockingly I may give it a pass but I doubt it would dip under $3ish or so. Also, I plan on getting Evil Genius for $1.50 so that will probably satisfy my sim/strategy build needs for the present time.

Heard mixed stuff on X. Some say it's good for what it is (Space sim), some say it's atrociously boring with lots of grind, and that you have to spend some time reading guides to study how to play the damn game.
I'm all for complexity, but not the kind that makes me read online guides just to know how to play a game, I'd rather learn it while playing.
I'll wait and see if a codexer with some experience with the games wants to give his piece before I make my final verdict.

Guys, your recommendation of Burnoutaradise city has been absolutely great for me. It's exactly what I've been looking for. Some of the people mentioned Flatout too. Since it's on sale today, which one do you recommend? I like SP campaigns in this kind of games, something that ties various races together in "become the ultra mega cool number one racing d00d in tha hood". Do all of them have that kind of game mode?

The X series - I do admit I'm not an avid space sim fan, my space sim collection only includes the I-War series at present, with some bits of experience from borrowing games from friends before, but I did make the mistake of buying X2 and I was bored. It felt hollow.

Space Rangers series are quite awesome, however. Not much else to be said - the games are great. Though you might want to wait til the end of the sales, maybe one of these days Steam will have them on 75% discount or something (unless they already are?)

Star Wolves - I hear part 1 is quite neat, with the rest being weaker copies of the first. Still, it's supposed to be a pretty decent Homeworld-like, and there sure aren't enough of that sort of games out there. Bought SW1, tried it, seemed decent, but I've not had the time to properly try it out.

Been playing Overlord and so far it's fun. Not exactly deep but it has a lot of personality and controlling the minions is rather fun. I'll have to see if the game will continue like this or take a nose dive to derp country but so far it's nice for the price I paid. Kind of a game to keep for a rainy day if you do not feel like playing anything "serious".

It's a fun game, but just like other open world games (Just Cause 2 for example) it get really repetitive after a while. Just like in Just Cause 2 you'll have to blow a LOT of shit up and that's pretty much it. A few days ago Just Cause 2 was on sale and I'd say it would have been a much better deal. It's just more fun thanks to its grapling hook, beautiful world and many funny and extreme ways to kill enemies. RFG on the other hand is just about blowing up buildings with explosives on a lifeless red planet called Mars...

As Joghurt said, it's a pretty fun game, but there are periods where it gets irritating. Fortunately, it does pick up from those moments again. A bit of an uneven experience really, but I actually enjoyed it enough to finish the campaign and even tried a bit of the addon (it comes free with the PC version, but it's really nothing special).

For $2, it's a good enough deal.

Now, if only JC2 had the capability of total destruction of RFG without losing on performance...
