All the praise A World's Fair Mystery is getting convinced me to get the bundle even though I owned most of it already. Definitely looking forward to playing it now, jumped straight to the top of my list.
If anyone has any interest in the games, throw them a bone. This bundle is doing measly numbers (they've lowered the minimum to a pretty ridiculous amount). Don't want to sound like advertising, but I always wished there would be an adventure game focused indie bundle, and now it's looking pretty sad.

Well, I'll buy it just for Gemini Rue.

edit: bought it. Warning: you don't get the link immediately, like with the usual "bundles", but "when we process your payment", whenever that is. You don't even get a receipt or order number. I was already charged but got no link!

edit: got it. Took 15 minutes.

Do you get a Steam key as well?

I don't have steam yet... but it's bound to happen eventually.

Yeah, those round icons beneath each title show what versions You get, each one comes DRM-free, and the three mentioned by Elwro have additional Steam and Desura keys (Metal Dead also has Desura).

In other news, it seems shit is about to hit the fan (what I'm wondering is how the hell did Steve Ince get involved with this... probably not the best way to join in on the Kistarter fun):
Sam Suede™ in Undercover Exposure

Leisure Suit Larry creator wants “infringing” Kickstarter campaign taken down.

Wisecrack Games just started a project to raise $500,000 to create Sam Suede in Undercover Exposure. Wegrzyn and Lowe worked on the Sam Suede game about seven years ago. The idea is take a new character, Sam Suede, who is an amateur detective “who navigates the law, investigating suspects, criminals and the ladies.” The game pitch video shows Lowe’s picture several times as it mentions his work on the title and it also shows him as one of the partners working on the project, alongside Wegrzyn and Steve Ince.

But Lowe and Trowe, who successfully raised more than $600,000 on Kickstarter to make the nostalgia game Leisure Suit Larry Reloaded, say that Lowe is not working on the project and they have misrepresented him and used his image (pictured right) without permission. All mention of Leisure Suit Larry on the Kickstarter page was also done without permission, Trowe said. He wants the Kickstarter campaign shut down.

“I think the blatant misuse of the Leisure Suit Larry name and copyrighted material shows clear disregard for copyright law,” Trowe said. “To piggyback on someone else’s success is not only rude but also illegal. Those who continue with this will be pursued to the fullest extent of the law. We are suing today.”

Not sure if this was already mentioned here or if this one is a decent game or not, but since I found it I'm posting it here:
The Journey Down: Chapter One
http://www.desura.com/games/the-journey-down-chapter-one
http://skygoblin.com/the-journey-down/# (free old school AGS version here)
(walkthrough/gameplay)

I watched a couple of minutes from the video and it looks like there's too much (of somewhat superfluous) dialog and not enough puzzles, but I can be wrong.

edit found some other games:

Has some articles linked in the site.

Wretcher
http://www.wretcher.com/
Wretcher is a horror point-and-click adventure game that strives to follow the old ways. Its style is heavily influenced by Clock Tower, the first horror adventure game of its kind (and still one the best), but also by Alone in the Dark and Silent Hill.

The player will soon find himself immersed in a nightmare, costantly hiding from monsters and struggling to survive in order to put an end to the madness.

Alas, the game is still in the making but, in the meanwhile, you may find a short gameplay demo in the Download section that shows off the atmosphere.

Journey Down had a fair bit of puzzling, though nothing very hard. It's not as dialogue heavy as the intro makes it seem.
A bit on the shorter side but their price reflects that. Hopefully they'll earn enough to put out a few more chapters.

Journey Down was quite good actually. Seems like an attempt to emulate the very original graphical design ideas of Grim Fandango, some of the feel of it reminded me of that game as well.

I hope it sells well enough.

For those who haven't seen it yet, GOG is now selling Tales of Monkey Island and the first 2 seasons of Sam & Max with a 60% discount. I haven't played then yet, but from what I heard those games are still worth your time (before Tellgame went QTE slideshow gameplay).

Isn't Telltale developing a new King's Quest? I thought that was going to be p&c again. I think they are only using the QTE bullshit for their console movie games.

Oh dear, I hope you are wrong.

It would be funny though. All the people that bashed "The Silver Lining" would backpedal fast

Me too. But considering their recent output, the fact Activision holds the King's Quest license, and the fact that it's principally staffed by ex-LucasArts people (with a rather different design philosophy from Sierrans) means that I'd be very surprised if anything good came of this.

It would be funny though. All the people that bashed "The Silver Lining" would backpedal fast

I bashed The Silver Lining, and if the release is awful I'll keep on bashing it. Two wrongs don't make a right, and the lesser of two evils is still evil.

Well, at least TSL had some respect for the source material, right?

I never played it myself. All I'm saying is that it will be very ironic if Telltale/Actvision does worse than that.

Wait until you see the fourth-wall breaking Easter Egg, then get back to me about "respect for the source material".

I've ranted quite a bit about this game so I'm kind of loath to do it any more.

I played the first chapter, where there was about one puzzle. Then I watched someone doing a Let's Play of it; someone who is a huge Sierra fan along with some other adventure fans. Not one of them liked it, and from what I saw I could see why and was glad I stopped.

Watchmen co-creator Dave Gibbons plans to make a new, original adventure game with Beneath a Steel Sky and Broken Sword developer Revolution Software, Eurogamer can reveal.

"It's going to be something that combines a lot of the things I'm perhaps best known for, which are a design sense and a sense of symbolism and maybe an obsessive attention to background detail.

"If you're asking, will it look like a Dave Gibbons game, yes it will look like a Dave Gibbons game. There would be no point in Charles [Cecil, Revolution founder] collaborating with me if it was going to look like a Joe Blow game."

Gibbons is no stranger to video games. He consulted on the Watchmen: The End Is Nigh downloadable video game, worked on updated art and a prequel digital comic for Broken Sword: Director's Cut and had a heavy involvement in cult classic adventure game Beneath a Steel Sky.

Now, he plans to once again collaborate with Revolution's Charles Cecil.

:yeah:

While platforms remain undecided upon, likely candidates are mobile devices such as the iPad and iPhone - where Revolution has seen a good deal of recent success with updates of its back catalogue of titles.

:rage:

Was Gibbons responsible for the horrible abomination that was the new art in BS:DC? In that case, not a damn is given about this game.

Not that I can play it anyway if it's on Apple platforms....

Tablets and other mobile shiz gave Revolution enough dough to live without Kickstarter (thank fudge at least someone can) so obviously they'll be targeting them, but I'm pretty sure PCs will be there as well.

But the new art in the BS remakes was pretty terrible indeed, and I hope Gibbons got the message.

What was so horrible about the Director's Cut new art? It is not like the disney-like stuff of the old games was love worthy or anything like that

The DC sucked because of the cut content, because of the new content being shit, and else. The only possible art complaint is that some of the new graphics didn't match the style of the cutscenes and sprites I guess.

Not sure if news.

Telltale are selling Sam & Max series 1 & 2 and Tales of Monkey Island series through GOG.

I don't think they're worth the price, which seems... a little high, especially given they're quite old and they simply don't have the good quality of other sets of games (even amongst other adventure games).

But some people with a less rabid hatred towards Telltale and more Polish blood than me might want to get them on GOG; but I'd definitely wait for an ~70% off or better sale on them.
